Klipsch Heritage Sales

I keep on hearing about the marketing moves by Klipsch but in none of the noise do I hear mention of where Heritage speakers can be bought.

Am I missing something or could someone point me to someplace where I could listen to the new K-horns in Texas(maybe a place to order from at least).

Seems like the Heritage series has died.

Also, I haven't notice a price list for K-horns or La Scalas around so I can decide if I want to go used or not.

Pointers would be appreciated.

Thanks

HDBRbuilder ,

You are right about not being able to hear the Heritage line and that is where Klipsch is failing.

I owned two pair of 70's vintage K-horns so I might be willing to just order a pair knowing their strong suits. I had sold the last pairs because in the wrong room K-horns are horrid (I had moved into a new home). I have just bought a new house and have a perfect place for them but if you ask a dealer about the heritage line they look at you cross-eyed. Probably don't want to order them because they might get stuck with them if you back out of the deal because of their satisfaction guaranty.

With Klipsh's direction I can see the Heritage line being moved from "Products" to "Classic".

"All I have to say is: Kinda hard to sell em if folks can't hear em!! LOL!"

I think this is EXACTLY what the bean-counters at Klipsch have in mind. Any company that has handled the issues as they did with the promedia 5.1 series ---- There's no problem....oh this IS a small problem.....oh, it's fixed now with series "B".....oh, there's another problem now....oh, it's fixed with series "E".....Ahhh....ummmm....well, series "K" now has the REAL fix, believe US, just keep on buying 'em!---- is capable of anything, I'm sorry to say.

Yeah, this kinda stuff hasn't occurred with the Synergy, Reference or Heritage lines, but the ProMedia embarrassment is representative of the kind of management that's in control of a company. Instead of pulling the plug on the obviously defective promedia 5.1 series and offering a completely new design to eliminate the problem, they just kept telling their employees what to say to the poor customers who bought them and promising false fixes just so they can continue to make sales.

Any company that will do that will certainly have little trouble "killing" the very series that made them what they are if it's not as fiscally advantageous as they'd like.

Oh my, gentlemen....

Its all about F****** money!

For the last 30 years I have spent most recreational funds (as limited as they were and are) on sound equipment to parallel the standards PWK established in the mid 40's with the corner horn. Paul himself lowered his standards with a direct radiator called Mod-H. He needed a "book shelf" speaker to complete the line. He thought that it was a Heresy! Don't get me wrong, I own 4 of them. To my ears, the last great speaker from Klipsch was the Chorus.Everything else was or is less than that standard. Bob Moors(sp?)started the decline in the 70s. Andy Horn Builder was there, he knows. In early years,Klipsch was a gift to the world. Now it is a business.I understand that.

KEEP & TREASURE the real stuff.

It still would have been nice to hear from Klipsch on what their direction is for Heritage vs. all this stuff about Synergy or Reference with no mention (at least that I saw) to Heritage. As I said, most dealers would rather (lightly put - really WON'T) have anything to do with the Heritage series so where does that leave the Heritage line?

Looks like Klipsch is going the way of Altec though it would be nice if someone would speak up from Klipsch and point out how they are not throwing away the Heritage line. I guess I would take a good deal on their pro-stuff if I had too. Won't exactly look good in the family room though.

Greetings! I can answer the question about the Heritage Series. It will continue, period.

If you want to help, please visit your local Klipsch carrying A/V specialist and ask them to actively display the Heritage Series. The more people you bring to them ready to buy, the more they will be inclined to see the value in placing these models on the floor.

Joshua Ryan Hall-

I really appreciate all the information you bring to the forum regarding these kinds of issues. It is nice to get straight answers from the "horses mouth" so to speak :)

Here is a little story about my local Klipsch dealer:

A few years ago I was looking for Klipsch Reference series speakers for my HT. I wanted a set of RF-3's all the way around (this was before the RF-3II were introduced). I looked at the Klipsch dealer locator and saw a local Hi-Fi "Mom&Pop" shop listed here in Atlanta that I had done business with in the past! KEWL! I called and spoke with a sales rep and I was told that they were not Klipsch dealers anymore. Bummer. I bought my speakers on-line.

Last summer I was driving by this same local shop and I noticed a Klipsch banner hanging in their window. I went inside and walked through a bunch of TVs and found a small sound room with lots of speakers including several models of Klipsch Reference speakers. I spoke with the owner and asked him about my call a couple of years ago and he told me I was wrong...no one there would have said they weren't Klipsch dealers. I don't like being told I am wrong when I know the facts of my call.

During my conversation with this gentleman (the owner of the shop) I asked about the availability of the Heritage line. He informed me that he had a pair of each of the Heritage speakers on order: a pair of K-horns, a pair of Belles, a pair of LaScalas, a pair of Cornwalls and a pair of Heresys. I was especially interested in the Cornwalls he had "on order" as I didn't think they were available. This gentleman informed me that I was wrong and that Cornwalls were in production, he had placed the order directly with his Klipsch sales rep.

Out of curiosity I have called this store periodically to see if they had received the Heritage speakers yet. I had occasion to go by there again last week so I dropped in to say "howdy". A sales person approached me after I got into the sound room, I said "I see you haven't received any of your Klipsch Heritage speakers yet". The sales person informed me that the Heritage speakers were not in production. I told him that the owner had some Heritage speakers on order...so he went to get the owner "to set me straight". When the owner came out he said he had a pair of K-horns on order but not any other Heritage speakers. I asked when he thought he might be getting his K-horns as I was anxious to see them. I was told that the Heritage line were not shipping yet but he hoped to get his pair of K-horns next fall or spring. He said that if I wanted a pair of new K-horns I had better place an order today as they were only going to be available until the current orders were filled and then the Heritage line was being discontinued.

Joshua Ryan Hall,

Thanks for the answer but the last several times I had asked any dealer to order Klipsch they told me no. Remember most dealers will only order what they stock so it's a Catch 22.

Sounds like Klipsch is not promoting enough themselves or they have no leverage with getting the high margin speakers into (or at least through a dealer via an order) to satisfy the customers. Hence the customers go elsewhere.

When are you going to go mail-order for the faithful?

I would have to say, in our area, some of the Dealers have said the size is an issue, and that they don't have the "proper" sound rooms for them. I have seen the new Khorn though...sweett 3.gif

My Dealer is going to bring in the line sometime down the road, first will be Scalz and Hersey's. He wants to design a room specifically for the Khorns to accomodate the size and their accoustics.

As for cost, in Canada Khorns retail 15K, Belle 12K, Scala 9K, Hersey 1.8K.

Klipsch Audio Technologies had better not forget what got them here in the first place...the Heritage line, when the Klipschorn, Belle Klipsch, La Scala, Cornwall, and later the Heresy were what put (what they were known then as) Klipsch and Associates Inc. on the map!

Don't ever do away with the Heritage Series!

It's bad enough it's missing the discontinued Cornwalls.

Klipsch needs to open their own stores (even if it is 1 to 2 dozen stores nationwide in the big markets). This would allow them to get all of the current Heritage on display. I think this is the biggest difficulty regarding the Heritage - Klipsch could sell more of these if they could be seen.

If Klipsch did this, I would be first in line to fill out an application. Such a move on Klipsch's part would be sufficient to get me back into selling again. Promoting Klipsch Heritage is something I can do in my sleep - it's genetic.

Betcha I could sell a few Cornwalls too9.gif
