Duke Spinner
"intotubes" got me thinkin' ... re: selling CW to get 19's thinkin' about the lack of room ... if I HAD to weed out a little.. keepers ... K-Horn Altec 19 JBL 4430 you'll need to pry them from my cold, dead hands the others, well, it would be hard to part with the Cornwall 2's Altec Valencia "B" I'd miss the JBL L-7's Altec A-7 Chorus 2 you can always find room for the Forte's........[]
Marvel
And here I was, hoping I could get your 19s from you. []
ranjith
Duke, how do those Altec A-7s sound? I saw one for sale locally for a cheap price, but needed new surrounds and some woodwork.
PrestonTom
Although it is a very different sound from K-Horns (which I will never sell), I have this thing for electrostatics. My Martin Logans will always have a place in my living room. I know ..... The bass is weak, they are ineffiecient and have a low impedance so they require a big amp that is capable of producing much current. However, there is something about them. There is an accuracy & detail in the mid-range along with an imaging that is just spectacular. Good Luck, -Tom
126mhz
I don't have near the collection some of you guys own but it would be very difficult for me to justify selling my mint 1983-4? LaScalas in birch. I have new AA crossovers in them and they look "As new." (I can't say I've ever heard a brand new pair of LaScalas) I guess if space ever became limited and I just had to sell the LaScalas I would NEVER get rid of my Audio Physic "Yaras." They cost way more than I could have ever justified spending but the guy I bought them from has some very serious money to spend on audio. He had them about a year and I got what I believe to be my deal of a lifetime on them. The Audio Physic Yaras sound out of this world. I still have a hard time believing they can produce highs and mid ranges almost with the LaScalas. They are a little shy on bass, but I never knew such small bass reflex speakers could sing so well,...
J.4knee
I will never sell my 84 La Scala's (especially with the Altec 511b's, CT 125's and ALK networks). If I had to I could part with my Herersy II's but I'd yell and stomp my foot a lot. I aspire to get a set of Klipschorns one day and I'd go gaga also to get a set of Altec A7's. 3dzapper
My Khorns. I'm saving up for a big crypt so I can take them with me. Really, the only thing my daughter wants when I go are the Khorns. That's good because I'm spending her inheritance now.[6] Rick
jt1stcav
My dad's all-original '79 Cornwalls...they're part of our family. It'd be like disowning one of your kids!
sunburnwilly
My 5 Belles . I would have to be in a catastrophic financial situation to part with them !
m00n
My RF7s... The cornwalls that I'm referbing and putting together have a very tall order to fill. I'll be suprised if I like them as much as I do my RF7s.... We'll see.

Duke Spinner
Duke, how do those Altec A-7s sound? I saw one for sale locally for a cheap price, but needed new surrounds and some woodwork. well, ya got the 511 horn, no upgrade needed if ya shrink up the big port, ya get decent bass, on the order of the LS, maybe a bit better, since it's reflex, say below 50 hz but the midrange ........[A] outta that 515......[A] Heavenly .....[]
tuned4life
I would have a hard time selling my 1984 CWO cornwalls 8421663, 8421664. although I have no authentication I beleive they were owned by Chet Atkins. that isnt the reason i wouldnt sell them though. the reason is that they are in like new cosmetic condition. I doubt very much if a nicer pair exists. they came with black grills but are wearing cane grills now.

If you want a 515 woofer you have to get an A5, the A7 came with an 803 or 416. There are more V.O.T.T. variations than you can shake a stick at. Most likely you will need to do some swapping around to get a good hi-fi one.
Duke Spinner
my A7-500 came w/ 416's i installed the 515, since they were hangin' around 416 went into my valencia's
Audible Nectar
I don't think I could ever sell any of the four Heritage pairs I have right now (3 Cornwall pairs and Belle pair)....very nice 60's and 70's vintages in very good condition, and all identically matched drivers, too. These just fit the dwelling well, sound great, and my wife really likes them - so I see no reason to rock the boat. We kind of think of them as our "kids"[]. www.records
Once I got my Altec 604's in factory oak cabs, I sold all of my other speakers. After listening to them for the first time, I knew my speaker search had ended and my others would never be used again.

They aren't flawless, but yet they are a very good looking pair.
