Fish
Well,I love all the old "hard rock" that we considered heavy metal thunder back in the day.As to more recent(but not too)I always had a secret fondness(don't tell my kids) for Quiet Riot "Bang Your Head"or" Metal Health"whatever the name is. Cal Blacksmith
This is the first song I ever heard on Khorns and they were driven by a (then new) Mac 225 in a special listening room at Sound Systems Inc, Fayettville NC in 1977. This is the most METAL song I know[] Artist/Band: Ronstadt Linda Lyrics for Song: Silver Threads And Golden Needles Lyrics for Album: Linda Ronstadt: Greatest Hits I don't want your lonely mansion with a tear in every room All I want's the love you promised beneath the haloed moon But you think I should be happy with your money and your name And hide myself in sorrow while you play your cheating game Silver threads and golden needles cannot mend this heart of mine And I dare not drown my sorrow in the warm glow of your wine You can't buy my love with money cause I never was that kind Silver threads and golden needles cannot mend this heart of mine Silver threads and golden needles cannot mend this heart of mine And I dare not drown my sorrow in the warm glow of your wine You can't buy my love with money cause I never was that kind Silver threads and golden needles cannot mend this heart of mine Silver threads and golden needles cannot mend this heart of mine
Audible Nectar
AC/DC: "The Jack" and "It's a Long Way To The Top (if you wanna rock and roll)" from "High Voltage" Kiss: Deuce, Firehouse, and Cold Gin (and Nothin' To Lose of course) from "Alive" Metallica: Anything from Master of Puppets......hell, just play it ALL. ......and Justice for All works good, too. Queensryche: "Operation Mindcrime". Just play it ALL. A MUST HEAR, especially in the current "climate". Van Halen: "Unchained" gets lots of play here as a "trial" for my systems.....especially for Eddie's "brown sound". I also like the "Carnal Knowledge" release (which is of course, For Unlawful[]), especially due to the cleanliness of the recording and the overall tonality. Not necessarily the best VH, but it REALLY sounds good in high fidelity systems. Led Zeppelin: "Physical Graffiti" - the entire second disc. "In The Light" is excellent stuff... colterphoto1
Sorry guys, Joan Jett does not qualify- at least not that song (we've got to work on your music appreciation Who). And Zep, although one of the Metal dinosaurs, and Phy Graf being my fave album, In the Light is definitely not a metal song. Now talk Communication Breakdown, Whole Lotta Love, Rock and Roll, or Kashmir and you're talkin! Has anyone mentioned one of the most Jurassic METAL bands of all- Deep Purple? Smoke on the Water, Lazy, Highway Star- all classic Metal songs- while not as heavy as some of todays dirgelike tunes, these are truly rock anthems. (others might disagree here that any band with a Hammond B3 organ could not possibly be heavy metal- but Jon Lord Rocks that beast!) Bobby T's listing is pretty much a 'must listen' compilation- dude burn me a CD of that, willya? War Pigs has to be about the most fun to stomp around doing my Jack Black impersonation to!
