seti
This was discussed in Hope this year, anyone know if it happened or is closer to happening? Perhaps they wrote the article before they heard it and now they have to re-write it [6] Seriously I have been looking for it as well. They should fly them in to Hope to listen in their room because it sounded fantastic. Khorns and Tubes YUM YUM
jt1stcav
Sorry for being a party-pooper, but honestly I won't believe it 'till I see it. Hope Stereophile proves me wrong! Nothing would make me happier than to read this proposed review.
LarryC
My understanding is that Stereophile will review the La Scala II, not the K-horn. The review is supposed to appear soon, though it didn't make the Sept. issue.
sunnysal
JA (stereophile's editor) assured me they wanted to review the klipschorn but had experienced difficulty in getting a review sample from Klipsch. I have been pushing him to add a review of a used version to his vintage review series. Tony
rcarlton
Stereophile will indeed review the LaScala II. Confirmed by Mark Kaufman (I have him talking about the review on tape).
Klipsch Employees Trey Cannon Posted August 21, 2006 Klipsch Employees Share Posted August 21, 2006 They have not reviewed the Khorn. they plan to. they have the LSII now...and they won't send it back. they sent a check in stead.
Seadog
they have the LSII now...and they won't send it back. they sent a check in stead. That's a good sign! I wonder how often that happens?

Mighty Favog
I bet they damaged it somehow to where they thought the only right thing to do was pay for it.[]

sunnysal
I wish they had started with the klipschorn, I am not a big la scala fan, nor do I think the folks at stereophile will be, it's not their kinda speaker. let's wait and see what happens. tony
damonrpayne
Have you heard the LaSala II Sal?
jwc
I got to listen to the LS II at a dealer and I wasn't too impressed. It all boiled down to the room. I am very familiar with the original LS sound. They need to be spread out. The LS II's were very close together only seperated by the tower of high dollar electronics. The imaging and what not wasn't present. I hope Stereophile does better than this for the "Subjective" review. The "objective review" will probably not be room dependent. Just a bunch of test tones maybe?
damonrpayne
Yeah, I don't know what their review methodology entails. Do they play test tones and show an spl vs. freq curve or something? We should really keep our eyes on this, I want to be sure to pick up the Stereophile issue that has any of the new Heritage reviewed. sunnysal
No Damon I have not. I assumed that Klipsch had maintained the same family values when building these new versions. I did not care for the sound of the original LS so I assumed, compared to the other models, I would like the II version least as well. I guess it was the lack of bass extension that turned me off most, I liked the cornwalls better than the LS and, of course, the k-horns as well. So... Let's see what stereophile says. I also was not happy with the "bookshelf" speaker they choose to review a while back, I would have liked them to pick one with a bigger woofer. regards, tony
damonrpayne
I think the LaScala II is a whole other animal from the previous iteration. I think Mark Kaufman, product manager for the new heritage, would agree as well.
