Listening to the best audio bang for the buck, PRICELESS!

Try to convince me that better sound is available for under $500.

DTel, we had a bunch of Liam's friends over for his fourth birthday Saturday evening. He decided to watch Ice Age - The Meltdown(bday present,) so we threw it in and cranked the Fortes up. During the course of the movie, one kid got up for a soda, and a second went to the lou. The other eight stayed in their chairs the ENTIRE movie, giving their folks a priceless hour of rest, idle gossip, and relaxation.

It was amazing seeing the kids react, laugh, and have a blast. Thanks, Klipsch!

Sounds like they enjoyed it, my wife probably would say the same thing, they can babysit big kids too !

Didn't know you had that setup ? I love Forte's, Cornwalls and ............. the list is long.

I have always wondered what does " sancti ludovici " mean ?

DTel, it is Latin for Saint Louis. One of my dad's greatest joys was attending St. Louis U. during the Ed McCauley era when they were national champs. This is a small way to honor his memory.

Now when I look at junior, and see Grandpa's larger sized head, I chuckle at the thought that grandson will be just as onery and stubborn as Grandpa![;)]

Oh yea, we have a $40 SW-10 subwoofer to get the down low on that system as well. I think the Fortes are one of Paul's better efforts.

Gary, you absolutely can not play.[;)] We are winning right now.[:P]

Well, give it a shot, because I am sure all that "stuff" you have hooked up to those Khorns cost more than what most people in this thread are saying they have invested.

Chorus II's - $150 ($200 shipping)
Denon AVR 3300 - $200

HK 630 - FREE (thanks Spaaz)
Marantz 940's - $20 recone kit
Custom JBL2226H Bass Bin - $60 recone kit
Computer for source - FREE (thanks dad / insurance company / retarded drug addicts in the neighborhood)

two DIY 12" subwoofers - $250

I guess that puts the stereo system total to around $1k - ok, not much of a steal I guess....but I really enjoy the setup. I know if it weren't for the great deals I've gotten through the forum that I wouldn't be anywhere close to this sound.
