A lot of folks come here to offer assistance......many of those.....with no expectation of a fee....

A lot of folks come here not needing assistance, and to avoid being attacked by the fee seekers, stay out of public question answering....

As of now, I'm charging $1 for any post where I help someone. If you end up buying a set of networks from me, I'll apply the Post Charges to your purchase (credit). Anyone that flames Fritz in a crossover thread gets an additional $10 off.

Once upon a time there were these things called stereo, or audio stores. They had a nice selection arranged in such a way that you could actually get a good listening experience, and even bring in a pair of your own (or a friends) and A/B compare them. The service was good, at some they would even offer you a soda to enjoy while you shopped and listened. They had factory authorized repair centers on location too. You could even bring in your stylus and they had a microscope to look at it and check for wear. There was little turnover so you got to know not just the owners but the salesmen too. This is one case where we are not better off than 20 years ago.

Can I get .25 cents per referral if I send them your way......[:P]

OldTimer, The salesman offered us a soda when we bought the Rf-7's........

This has got to be one of the most laid back non-policed forums on the internet............and that's a good thing. Sad that a still a few stir things up enough to get themselves spanked.

I can see the challenge for Amy. It's tough running a business and keeping a professional image when you bring your kids to work every day and they often are unsupervised. What goes on in the forum is about Klipsch's presentation, too.

It's really kind of funny - all the loitering that goes on at a company-sponsored website. I doubt Klipsch foresaw this would happen. It's kind of harmless and perhaps good, but it is funny.

Hi all, long time no see...

... This led me to purchasing a pair of Heritage speakers BRAND NEW from my local dealer, and I have been a happy consumer up until a few months ago.

....IF Klipsch treats its paying customers like this, what gives me any my money a reason to continue my relationship with Klipsch? Is this a smart move FOR THE GOOD OF THE COMPANY? I know many of you do not care for me, and I can live with it. However, I also know that many of you do. It is for these people that I write to you and ask, DO YOU WANT TO PURCHASE SPEAKERS FROM A COMPANY SILENCES A MEMBER WHO STANDS UP FOR HIMSELF? Right, wrong, you be the judge.

...God Bless!

Clarence

You 2-channel folks are interesting people.[8]

I don't know clarence at all, but if he is going to get rid of his speakers because of him being banned from the Klipsch sponsored forum for uncivil behavior, I don't think it's a customer service problem as much as it is a communications problem.[co]

This is a public forum with stated rules. If clarence broke those rules of course he should be banned. If he didn't then I can't imagine Amy banning him. Insofar as coming here and threatening to post his letter about Klipsch, may I also suggest posting some of the material in those other forums that was stated here so they can get a flavor of the discussion.

I realize that some of the most speaker savvy people post in the 2-channel forum, but I can't help but think some of the rhetoric used is geared towards provoking someone to take a swing--Although I can appreciate that in some venues, this ain't it.

Anarchist expressed my thoughts after reading the OP.

clarence, if you don't like your speakers (that you already purchased) get rid of them. If you are pleased I wouldn't let your (perceived or not) bad experience keep you from enjoying your sound system. I understand about not purchasing any more Klipsch products if you truly are offended. My 2 cents.

FWIW, I love coming to this forum but it pales in comparison to the enjoyment I get from my Klipsch Home Theater. If Amy bans me I may be compelled to express my views on other forums, but I damn sure am not getting rid of sonic nirvana {which sadly I am not experiencing now, because Klipsch has my RSW-15 amp and pre-amp, and my Denon 4802R is going to the shop because of a power surge [:(])

This is going all wrong. I'm supposed to be here for the money.

Dean,

You don't need money look at the multi million dollar home you live in and and the three $500K cars you have in the driveway! all paid for from profits from your booming crossover business. Heck you have to be rich you keep having babies[;)]

Dean, from past threads I have noticed there seem to be at least a score of marketing geniuses ready to help around here.

That's gotta be a veiled personal attack. Amy, can you ban this guy. Might as well ban Craig too while you're at it.:)

Poor, maligned, and unappreciated Clarence. He should have the right to disparage any and all, post pornographic material wherever he so desires, and be king of the forum.

Amy did right to ban him. Tom took care of his post on AK, so don't worry there, Amy.

Purchasing a new set of Heresys does not give anyone the right to drive multiple people away from buying Klipsch products, including you - Clarence. Clean out your own litterbox before you try thrrowing kitty litter everywhere.

Very good Dean, this sounds like what folks have been asking for, a simple menu of charges and service providers.

Fritz is a retired US ARMY 1SG which means I have very thick skin.

Amen, oldtimer. I started a thread a few weeks ago on AK re a somewhat unenjoyable experience I had recently at a local McIntosh dealer. I also recalled that same store location selling Mac in the 70's and a great salesman that took the time to treat a bunch of broke college student's (me and my friends) with kindness and respect and helping us cobble together our first Mac system (used, of course). Funny thing was, another AK member remembered the same salesman and frequented the store at that time. Small world, but things have definately changed.

To the topic though, I have been a member here for a couple years and I have never noticed any thread that I thought was so horrible that grown men and women couldn't handle it. But, then I'm an attorney so I guess I'm used to rude uncivil behavior =). And yes, like Max, I would love to be "policed" by Amy!

I may be a very junior member and own only previously used speakers but Amy and the entire Forum Botherhood have been the best most helpful folks I have encountered in a long time. It's almost like the antique car hobby was back in the sixties before the rich-boys started "restoring" cars with a checkbook instead of with their hands.

Amy...keep us happy and straight!

LMAO

I would not pay Dean $ 500 for the car he drove to AK last year.

Dean;

The "supposed to be here for the money". Your wife really belives that?

I keep telling my wife I am Craig and Dean's salesmaen so I can go to the Audio Shows they attend. She does not buy that line one bit.[^o)]

Don't be sugar coating things, this forum is restrictive and don't think for a moment that it isn't. I was picking on my brother in law Gilbert (Ice thread) and sure enough the forum police showed up to call me on it. Pretty ridiculous, I would hate to think if I really was picking on someone.

I have been a forum member here for over six years and trust me when I say the tone has changed over the years. Why should he have to walk on egg shells and be silenced on edgy topics that do occasionally crop up. Don't give me the private forum bit, this is a public forum provided by Klipsch on their dime but freedom of speech should still be allowed within reason.

I have actually gotten disgusted to the point where I was wanting to sell all of my Klipsch speakers off and go with another brand because of the nonsense.

This one really surprises me too. I'm almost at a loss for words.

As far as the "Ice" thread intervention...I only stepped in (good naturedly) because you called him a "damn southerner" and accused him of being a whiner couple times. I asked you to take it easy on the guy, not knowing he was your brother-in-law or that you even knew him personally.

What you guys need to keep in mind that people come here for the first time and choose whether or not to participate based on the first few threads they read. If the threads are perceived as hostile, 9 times out of 10 the new folks will be on their merry way. That's not the kind of atmosphere we want here.

There is a fine line of when I intervene and when I do not...it's not an exact science, and I've never claimed to be perfect in my judgement. And honestly, the vast majority of posts on this forum go unread by me, simply because I don't have the time.

However, the posts from Clarence were widely reported to me by many members. They went far beyond acceptable and were graphic in nature. There was no gray area.

Well it looks lke Clarence's little stunt worked. This was obviously an attempt to bait & to annoy. It worked! Within a few hours there are 3 pages of stuff with phrases like "freedom of speech" and "public forum" and who did what to who (or is that "whom").

In the last several months we have had particiaption from the head engineer at Klipsch (sorry if I fumbled your title, I am not sure what you are called) who has given us good advice and been very accomodating (as we try to clone his work...). Why are"we" trying to discourage that sort of participation?

I guess I feel sorry for Amy. She walks a fine line, while we like to criticize...

It is a sad comment that as a group we do not seem to play nice.

-Tom

The little stunt is ok with me...air it out! No one ever emails me to say what they like and don't like about the forum (well, a few of you do!), so let's hear it! Better in this thread that scattered throughout the forum or other forums...
