  2. Hey guys, just caught up on three days of posts from you all. Sounds like all is doing good and getting over the turkey day. We had a good long weekend, went into the shop late Friday. Put a starter on a CRV for a really good customer and the took the truck to her house. Saturday I went in and worked on one of my old Toyota Landcruisers, I've had the truck for 25+ years but I think It's time to sell her. It will break my heart to let her go but I have more cars and trucks than Klipsch speakers ......lol lol Check-in later......take care.....Mark :-)

  4. Thanks More Klipsch Please. Ironically, i was just rereading the OldBuckster thread that Chuck (Tarheel) had started years ago. I know Rob passed away at the end of November and my accident was at the beginning of the following January. This forum group has been through some “stuff” over the years…including some that post on this thread regularly (don’t want to mention names to maintain privacy--but, my friend you know who you are and i still feel for you).

  5. no i didn’t feel lucky. Not sure if i ever told you; but, i was crossing the street to get dinner at the Del Taco -- never made it. At the trauma center, my kids told me that they always knew Del Taco would kill me; but, they figured it would be from a heart attack.

  13. Just wanted to say what fun it was to visit with Carl this weekend. I got to checkout a sub project he is working with dual 12" drivers. It really is coming together nicely. After drinking a great martini Carl drove us over to Willy Burger. I had a Bleu Cheese Burger while Carl had the Kung Fu Burger. Here is Carl with our sandwiches here.

  19. We got back to Carls and had another awesome martini and watched some classic rock blu-rays on Carls home theater. Carl's IB sub system can do 110db at 10hz. Doubt there are many out there that can get to that LOL. Anyway it was great time and in the end Carl sent me home with some crazy hot peppers and a nice bottle of wine which my wife liked very much and therefore I liked it too.

  25. Probably not a screen saver issue... more like a sleep mode issue where power consumption is being metered out even though you may be on wired power. Look at the global eco settings and hd sleep settings. Set both to never (sleep).

  27. You must be a legend at that joint to have your photo on the wall. However, for some reason, with the name Boxx, i pictured you looking different. Actually, I'm the guy that spilled the "Red" drink all over the floor.... and someone walked through it. Texas lets you in eateries barefoot? A lot like California I guess.

  30. you may be on to something with the screen saver trail. I’m not a techno geek; but, can you experiment by either disabling the screen saver or changing the period of inactivity required before the screen saver kicks in? p.s. you weren’t trying to stream the Raiders game were you? if you were, you probably broke your gear.

  34. Hear that. Got bit by a Brown Recluse several years ago. Didn’t realize it at the time of the bite; however, noticed a red line moving up my arm. Went to the doctor -- who confirmed the bite. Gave me a shot of antibiotic -- which turns out, I was allergic to. Interesting day that was. Got bit by something a few years ago…noticed blood poisoning line about 11 PM. Debated waiting till morning but decided to head to the ER. Doctor examined my arm and said, “see this (pointing to a ring around the wound…like a bullseye)…this is what we don’t want to see…I’m glad you came in." I’ve had two close calls with rattlesnakes; but, never been bit. Thank God you went in. A friend from the midwest actually died from a spider bite to the neck some years ago. He was not the kind of guy you'd expect to cash out from something so small ... played college football and did a brief stint in the NFL. We have a few nasty spiders in Colorado too, and are careful.

  36. Oldbuckster didn't mix his words did he billybob. What a great guy as the length of that thread testifies. An honorable, working class, hero if there ever was one. He spoke his mind and we all loved that about him. An unmatched legacy here on the forum. With the lady friend away I finally decided to do the Spotify thing and had a great time putting together playlist for Jazz, blues, rock, easy listening, and country. About 60 songs for each list. Coffee done though a third cup sounds good. Jake sleeping following his walk.....probably still tired from the dog park trip yesterday. Suppose to be 70 degrees here today so something outdoors is in order. Good point Steve.....you never know what forum members have gone through or are dealing with. Speaking of that I wonder where Winchester is? Cheers Gents

  37. Based on my knowledge of what you paid for all your stuff, I would say you also have the best "bang for buck" HT setup that I know of, which left you enough cash to put into the most expensive/important component...........the ROOM!! Congratulations on your success, you have made some wise choices indeed, including filtering out all the conflicting advice you probably got from the internet, as we all do.

  39. If the 805 is working, keep it and run it, it will give you more power than the 636,unless you are looking to do Atmos. The 636 if I'm not mistaken is only 90-100 watts per channel, and the 805 is probably about 130 watts per channel. The older receiver will give you more cleaner sound at higher levels and won't clip as quick as the 636. Your speakers again can be adjusted by going into the level side of the mic setup after it's done to adjust the output sound so it's louder and bass can thump more. Just make sure you adjust all the same amount and write down the levels before changing them. Those speakers are beasts, so once you cross them over, raise your levels and that will give you more pop in them. Also adjust the compression and go into the bass and treble settings as well. I also like a deep bass and crisp highs, so I was using the "light" setting on the compression with mine.

  40. Snells are pretty dope, but quite different in how they'll interact w/ your room. Here are a couple helpful links to help get the most out of your new fortes: DOPE from HOPE Toe In.pdf 159k .pdf file Setup of WG Speakers.pdf 206k .pdf file Tune the bass by playing with proximity to corners. Inches matter. And I highly recommend fairly heavy toe-in/cross fire style orientation as described in the second link, for a larger coverage area and stable image.

  41. Skip the r-15. They are just a copper synergy line. Pay the extra and get the RB-41ii for 200. Plus you want your front three to match no matter what if at all possible. Also another thread below about how terrible he thinks the r-15 is and he was just like you bought them cause they were on sale.
