  2. The cabinet does not come with feet, as it is supposed to go in ground or be set in a garden, since this is on the deck, I found some old feet saved from a receiver or cassette deck... Then attached them with the clear silicone adhesive, also have hooked it up to the system as you can see, cables run to the grill cabinet. Here is a shot of the receiver inside... Sub in its place beside the grill, and in between the mains....

  4. TNR On my Stihl string trimmer there is a metal screen grid over the exhaust port. If this becomes clogged with 2 stroke oil residue it will not let the engine breathe properly causing some of the conditions you describes. My trimmer was doing the same thing a couple seasons ago and the dealer tipped me this as the problem. Use a metal bristle brush, brass works well, and clean the crap off the screen. The engine can breath again and performace was back to normal. Stihl 2 strokes are designed to run flat out 100% off the time. When used like most home owners, idling, off/on with partial throttle, the exhaust loads up with 2 stroke oil and clogs this screen filter. Cleaning the screen worked wonders on mine and it was free advice from a dealer no less. So now when I need anything Stihl related I head back to the same place that tipped me to a free solution to problem he could easily have charged me a hour or two of labor.

  6. Good late morning............coffee gone, kitchen cleaned up... Thanks for the likes my friends WELL, I get all this done, and my neighbors are out and cleaning their lovely inground pool. I yell over a good morning and Butch (the husband) wants to know when he will hear this great sound system... I said "how about right now?" He said let it rip. So, I put on the Diana Krall greatest hits and I got a big thumbs up Now, that just ended and I asked if they had had enough...... (oh, and my other neighbors came out and went into their Jacuzzi and seemed to enjoy the tunes which are at a pretty loud volume btw.) Pat yelled back that they wanted more and asked who the artist of the first album was. So now, I have Ann Hampton Callaway playing (Easy Living) = full album.... I LOVE my neighbors Todd, I highly recommend this little receiver, this one is 100 wpc. and is PLENTY for this system. The speaker efficiency is only around 89 db. across the board, so, yours may play louder at lower volume settings.. Model is RX-4208..... ( The next model up has Blue Tooth I think. ) This one was only about $110... The remote is one of the best designed. All the important stuff is right on it, NO menus to run through. Bass, Treble, Balance and even SPEAKER SWITCHING is on it !!! Where have you seen that on a remote ?? All for now.............got a concert coming up in the late afternoon, got to run over some tunes and pack the gear... More later tonight, or tomorrow morning..... Enjoy the day ............Gary

  7. "Stihl 2 strokes are designed to run flat out 100% of the time" You know your right, when goldmining we need to clear our roads, iv got a Stihl 32" bar, runs great flat out, idle sucks. Thanks richieb...I have cleaned the muffler screen and the manual says something about bringing it to a Stihl dealer to have the muffler inspected. I haven't removed the whole muffler though and tried to clean the muffler itself. I think you may be right and it may be the cause. Carb is still soaking and it is raining so it may be tomorrow or later in the week. Chuck, deck looks outstanding. I use Flood products too, but mine is fully exposed and is now getting a lot of tree pollen, sap, etc...Decks are nice, but they are far from maintenance free. Kind of wish I did a composite one, but that stuff still seems to be in it's infancy. Pricey and not yet proven to hold up. MM, can you get the RC bee down to the size of a humming bird? That will work! Gary, what model is that Sherwood receiver? How many WPC? I still need to pick up a 2 channel receiver to drive my KP-320's I picked up last fall for outdoor use. Was looking at the QVC and Crown. Thinking I need 200 WPC or more. Makes sense to me, we may be working on the wrong end ! Cannont get any fuel/air into it, if it cant get out the other end ! Pull that dam muffler and clear it, hell if your not worried about a spark arrester, id poke a couple holes in that screen. SOB. Damn, it was one of my Stihl chain saws that I cleaned the screen many times. Just looked at the brushwacker, and I have never cleaned it, but I don't see a screen, so, right on boys, I am betting it is the muffler. I will remove it and see if it comes apart and clean the crap out of it ....literally! Thanks again richieb and MM. Stihl recommends a 50:1 mix which is pretty lean. A lot of folks tell me to run richer, but Stihl techs have told me stay at 50:1. When you think about it you nearly always run chain saws wide open, and concrete saws, but line trimmers and brush wackers seldom run WOT. I'll keep you posted. I am optimistic this is the problem.

  10. About 10 years back one of my Pub Mates was telling me he built a gardning bench for his wife out behind his garage, she liked it but wanted a few outlets, so wile installing a few, that was my first experience with these Bees, i know what your talking about, when i saw their holes, i injeced RTV silicone into the holes, and filled them up. Never saw a Bee again after plugging the holes. Now as far as this RC Bee, sure i can build one but it would be the size of a toaster!

  11. This is stuff to use! http://www.logfinish.com/product/nbs-30-insect-repellent/ (outside use only) It seems expensive but a little goes a long way. Those bees don't shy away from treated lumber at all. I had just rebuilt the kids' swing set after straight line winds broke the neighbors tree in half sending it on a karate chop path with the top beam of the swing set. I found it full of holes 2 summers later and tunnels that were crazy long! Mixed the NBS 30 in with the stain that I used on the deck, fence and swing set. I believe the active ingredient is Citronella oil so the smell was a bit strong but I didn't mind it much. The smell faded over time but the bees were completely gone for 3 years and I've only found a couple over the next few years. Everything is ready for new stain so it pretty much lasted the life of the finish. I'd say it kept most mosquitoes away that first year as well.

OMG we did not get home till 3:30 am this morning......we did the wall paper thing on the office walls and put a coat of paint on the ceiling (needs a 2nd coat) You know Mark if you were closer I'd take you up on the dually.....I don't work on alot of big stuff at the "Honda" shop.....they don't fit in the shop. But I have done some big truck stuff.....I'll just pull it up to my one bay and do the work on the lot. Now if the job requires a lift then it's not a job for me.. It's a pain working on my F250, the lift can pick it up but it's so tight working around it. Ahhh the bee thing.....yea I got those things also.....They are starting to attack the lumber on the deck.....yea I don't think so...a shot of brake clean in the hole...there done!!...I don't like killing them, cuz I like bugs and things....but I'm sorry they can't drill into the deck. tnr...hope you get the Stihl thing worked out, I have a Stihl back pack blower I love, no problems with it ....so far... Chuck... the deck looks great.....good work my man... Gary.. cool set-up for the tune on the deck....get jammin my man.... and all my other peeps have a great day......I'm heading back to the shop to trim carpet and get the office ready for work on Tuesday. 16. Thanks Muel...I will try to find it. Minermark, can you build me a couple RC artificial carpenter bees that are faster and can outsmart the real thing? Come on, you got the schit to do it. They need to be faster and smarter and be equipped with laser sights and tiny missiles and flame throwers. How quick can you get them to me? The scotch is on it's way. About to start 2nd OT of Blackhawks/Ducks playoffs. Forced to sip another vodka and cranberry on the rocks!

  18. True, had this happen before with different brand, another time in the spring I couldn't get it to start, took apart the carb cleaned it along with the spark plug, nothing dead. thought about the exhaust again and when I looked bees had filled it with dirt, cleaned it out and it started fine, felt like a dumbass. I usually have to clean out the wind chimes once a summer when they start sounding dull, they fill up with dirt from the bees.

  19. Looks like a gallon is the smallest container it comes in. Hopefully the Gumout soak and cleaning the muffler is the ticket. Coffee down, biscuits & sausage gravy down, on to Bloody Mary's and the Indy 500. I don't think I can wait to tackle the muffler and put the thing back together. May get to it today after all. MKP: "Ahhh the bee thing.....yea I got those things also.....They are starting to attack the lumber on the deck.....yea I don't think so...a shot of brake clean in the hole...there done!!...I don't like killing them, cuz I like bugs and things....but I'm sorry they can't drill into the deck." Brake clean, huh? Yep, once they start doing damage, they are done! They have the whole world to explore, but they have to mess with our houses and decks. I will have to try it.

  21. I've been to the 500 several times. It is a spectacle. My younger brother and his USNA '75 buddies go every year. The race is an excuse to get together. I agree that watching Indy cars turn left for 200 laps can get old, but, IMO, it beats NASCAR and the single file parades that are called F1. I would rather watch several short heat races at a 1/2 mile dirt track than Indy or F1. Something about short wheelbase 1,000 hp Sprint cars sliding around on mud. Lots of passing and no time to get bored.

  23. Are there many race fans around here? I grew up around this race and still enjoy it, especially the festivities. There's a three hour possession before the race with the Purdue University Band, high school bands, The Gordon Pipers, old historic IndyCars, past winners, and most importantly, thousands of veterans. I think it's these traditions that make this race special. I will say, one of the coolest things I've ever witnessed, is when a single trumpant plays Taps! It's kind of eery when 300k people become completely silent. I love this race

  26. This is from an guy who has more video calibraation experience than audio (im still an audio newbie IMO), and I still buy 2-3 players a year to try out and replace older models. I also use them for streaming. I currently have an Oppo 103D, Sony 7200, Sony 1200, Panny 460 and will be getting a Sony 6500 when it is released. Its funny because I only have two tv's, but I usually hand em down to relatives. I have also owned a Oppo 93 and 103. Here are my simple and straightforward comments: Anyone that says all blu-rays players are created equal in terms of PQ playback is wrong. Now one might argue that the difference cannot be seen, or may not be seen, but a fact is a fact. Samsungs have undefeatable noise reduction and slight color errors, Panny has color errors in newer models since they swapped to Mediatek, Sony used to have color errors but they worked that out a few years ago (they use mediatek chips too, so does Oppo now). The color errors are a problem for me because I have a calibrated display, that I keep touched up. I am not paying all that money for a player to have NR or color errors, slight as they may be. I also test every player with spears and munsil, and you will find some of them clip fine chroma resolution on hose patterns. Currently the Sony's and Oppo do not. My $2000 Marantz did when I turned on its video processing, but I never liked an audio device doing video processing anyways. The Oppo 93 was a beast, the 103 had an issue where the Marvell was always on, and actually slightly softened the image, other than that it was a great player. The 103D solved that and has a razor sharp image IMO. My only knock on the Sony is I think the image is a little more soft, not much, and most wouldn't even care. As much as I loved my PS3, it's clarity of image did not compare to newer Panny's and the Oppo 103D. So here is the simple part: If you only want to watch blu-ray, and maybe stream Netflix and Amazon, a $100 Sony is an excellent choice (get the just released 5500). Now if you want a universal playback device that can be used as a video processor (I run my dish hopper thru the 103D and it converts everything to 1080p for my display), has reference playback of DVD and Blu-ray, and has Darbee processing, get the 103D. The Oppo can also take the MHL Roku stick in the front, and you get all those streaming services and the Netflix app on that stick will put out 1080p/24 thru the Oppo MHL port

  30. It's not called the greatest spectacle in racing for nothing! I think it would be much more better to see live with all the other stuff going on as you mentioned because when you get right down to it, watching drivers on a roundy-round track turn left for two and a half hours isn't exactly the most interesting thing in the world. But the fact is, a lot of people like that, and that's cool.

Maynard, just because you went through the 7th grade twice does NOT mean you skipped 8th grade. +++ I question how smart the 11 yo's parents are is in the article you referenced if they had their child's IQ test at age four. I would suggest if a parent has the IQ of a normal child (ie, not a child with a deficit) tested at the age of 4 they do NOT have the child's best interest in mind, even though the Stanford-Binet IQ test claims to be valid for children as young as four. This looks like pure ego on the part of the parents.

  35. The carb is in a small jar soaking in Gumout. Rain moving in the next several days, so I think I will let it soak for days...maybe a week. I don't think I need to worry about a carb getting pruned do I? Right...3 beers, one vodka tonic, and a 2nd VT after I type this. I guess I would rather be up against a small carb issue than a duallly rotor issue. Kind of like the big boats with twins...double trouble. Guiness blonde? Chuck, do you find the carpenter bees depart in mid summer? They always seem to be prevalent in spring then gone. Spraying carb cleaner in the b holes, and then install MM's zapper screens. That may be the ticket...no more house to maintain. Time for the RV! No property taxes either! Need to find an RV to accommodate Khorns.

  39. Second time taking the carb of my Stihl FS-250 brushwacker this year. Broke it down, thought I cleaned every jet and orifice with Gumout and compressed air. Can't get the SOB to idle or run continually at medium RPM's. Screams like hell wide open. Just changed spark plug...wasn't optimistic, but out of desperation had to eliminate that. I bought this top of the line brushwacker in 2004 and I think I have more time working on it than actually using it. Pisses me off big time. Metering diaphragm and pump diaphragm look fine, O.K. going to take the carb off and soak just the carb body in Gumout, not the gaskets or rubber diaphragms. Last shot. $71 for a new carb and $48 for a rebuild kit...no brainer...new carb if this doesn't work. Two seasons ago this happened and I finally got it running perfectly. Better check the fuel cap...it's like it isn't getting a steady stream of gas. Maybe the fuel cap has a vent. Despite crossing state lines for no ethanol added premium fuel and storing it properly for the winter, this misfit is getting the better part of me. If it wasn't so expensive, it would be in the bottom of my pond by now! On beer # 3 or 4. Hope you all are having a better day! Outdoor jammin' Gary! I may throw in the towel and kick back. WIsh I had some tequila for some margaritas...damn! Going to fill the 3 foot round baby pool for the dogs...they love it!

His Cup car team hasn't run well, even Danika is running better than him. Harvick and Busch are running great. Amy was all over this last year, suppose i could ask chad eh? The Klipsch car was in the Indy GP, the road course race last year, not the Indy 500. Last year was the first IndyCar race on the road course.
