  3. Never driven a motorcycle Looks like some clearing here though yet to see the sun. Guess its going to be a day to volunteer.....first at the library spiffying up their CDs and DVDs and then over to the Dog Club to walk Toby, an overweight Bassett Hound. Toby is a rescue and also has a weight problem He doesn't know me that well but is always eager to go for a walk. Well that's enough talk about me.....what are you guys up to? (preposition noted) and one point deducted. Cheers Ladies and Gents

  12. Built these for a friend/customer (4th build for him). He had two K-701 mid horns, two K-53 mid drivers (some T-35/K-77 tweeters) and bought two more Bob Crites CW1228 12" woofers to go along with these. I added a pair of PE 4.5" waveguide horns and two EV 2442 titanium tweeter drivers and a pair of Tangent T4000 xovers. I realize this is not a Heresy since it isn't the same box size and type or all heresy components. Built the cabinet using 3/8" bendable ply (two layers per each side) wrapped around curved frame. Used waterfall bubinga aircraft grade veneer on the fronts and cherry veneer on the sides running horizontally with solid 3/4" bubinga top and front pieces and side vertical trim. Two 3" curved ports from PE in a 3.3 CF enclosure. Grill frames uses magnets to attach. Built in waterfall bubinga veneer 2" risers. Sound is very good. Crites woofers are very nice. My friend really likes these since you can't buy them at Best Buy!

  13. Jake's right, there are to many good dogs out there looking for homes already. We have two, only one from a shelter. My daughter is a hospice nurse and lost a patient who had a little dog and no family, so instead of her dog going to a shelter she took it, and it ended up with us. Both our dogs are good dogs, a min-pin and a Chihuahua which does not act like a Chihuahua at all, I guess because it was raised by an old lady ? They drive me crazy, and they have both trained me to supply treats regularly.

  16. This BS has been run on our local news for the last few days. Man was found hanging in an overhead road sign due to rolling over at a high rate of speed, highway patrol took pics of the driver seat and clearly was NOT wearing a seat belt. Now the Media liers are reporting he not only had a "5 Point race car" seat belt, he was WEARING it at the time. You see the Media BS in this state? clear picture of the drivers seat, one piece shown, stock, standard seat belting. Where in the sam hell some Media lier came up with a 5point belt is an amazing blantaint lie! pics do not lie! Stupid Drama queen state and this is what they feed the masses daily! [/quote you mean these other cool looking stories are not true either? well they are probably fun to read? http://www.insideedition.com/headlines/12021-cops-man-disemboweled-his-girlfriend-after-she-screamed-out-exs-name-during-sex The Media is NOT held accountable for anything, they will trump up a story in a heart beat. And in Calif, anything goes, got a problem? get a lawyer, they run and ruin the state.

  18. Turns out the wife is more cunning than previously believed. I've been waiting to get my hands on my Wiener . . . wait . . . that doesn't sound quite right. The Wiener is a TDA3118 board designed by gmarsh on the diyAudio forum. I participated in a group buy. See http://www.diyaudio.com/forums/group-buys/276508-wiener-group-buy-2-stereo-pbtl-editions-available.html Well, the much anticipated amp finally arrived from Nova Scotia a few days ago, Before I could lay eyes on it, SWMBO squirreled it away to wrap as a birthday present next week, BTW, I find myself listening to more rap lately . . . mostly at intersections, but I digress. Two can play at this game. Today Amazon delivered a 5 speed 8" drill press. Now I will be able to drill nice clean holes in the aluminum enclosure to house the Wiener, so as not to frighten ladies and small children. Before my better half laid eyes on it, it was unboxed and on the bench. The box will come in handy when I sell off one of my surplus Technics SL1500 turntables. It's always great to have an excuse to get a new tool. I'm referring to the drill press. Especially when it can be legitimately characterized as a business expense. I'm sure the IRS will find the de minimis personal use to drill a few holes in some aluminum to be acceptable. Now it's time to relax with an Odd Side Ales Bean Flicker Blonde Ale With Coffee. Enjoy the evening.

  22. Maybe for purebred dogs but at most shelters it's about $65 which covers a rabies vaccination and a spay/neuter. Choose a mix breed and help put puppy mills out of business. YMMV

  23. I read alot about the rescue dogs, I just cant seem to find them....................I would love another Bulldog we had an English Bulldog when the boys were born (Chopper) I had to give him to my dad He was a true bulldog, not one ounce of ease about him if he wanted to go someplace he went straight there without hesitation or deviation Jacob was a bit sickly and Chopper was not a match for infants at 50ish pounds if he landed on the boys it would not be great, I worked 14 to 16 hours a day and the wife with 2 infants and Chopper was not happening Sadly Chopper died a couple years back So as the boys are older now if I had the opportunity to rescue a Bullie I would be all in

  29. Mornin' guys. Interesting topics Animal sacrifices?? Good god. Apparently they don't work. Disgusting, eh? JL ...that's a great looking toy. If I were a lot younger, the prospect of getting a bike like that would likely tempt me into riding. Cool stuff. Chuck ... nice work with Toby. Your attention will make him a better citizen in his new home, hopefully forever. Must be a little bittersweet, though. Have a great Wednesday, all. Gonna go tackle a little tree trimming before the weather goes south on us.

  32. Well I spent the day with my wife, stepson, daughter-in-iaw and Grandson Karter and oh, about an estimated 250-300,000 Kansas Citians celebrating the Royals World Series victory with a parade. Never seen so people in my life, unbelieveable.

  34. Animal sacrifice in and of itself is not enough. The entrails must be divined by a high priest (or priestess, hopefully a hottie) to determine if the sacrifice is valid and pleasing to the gods.

  35. animal sacrifice? yeah, the soon to be "Norm" in living in the OC, you will see....... if the OC dont kill ya first! i heard that one of the eateries on main street huntington beach, had an animal sacrifice before it opened a several years ago. place ain’t there no more, so clearly animal sacrifices don’t work. i’ll make it out of here alive...just watch. That is what my last Bud said 24 years ago, and he died just before i moved up north. Everyone i grew up with is dead. For many reasons, no two the same, but one thing in common, The OC lifestyle.

  39. Hello, Klipsch Community, For your consideration is a pair of WO Klipsch forte. I am the original owner. I purchased them in '88. They are original, no mods. They are consecutive serial #s. They include an extra set of factory K-75-K tweeter horn assemblies (horn, diaphram, magnet) purchased new from Klipsch. Also a set of factory K-53-K Phenolic midrange drivers also purchased new from Klipsch. When I purchased the K-75 tweeter assemblies I installed one of the diaphrams into one of the forte's at the time because it had intermitent distortion. In hindsight it may have been a loose connection on the tweeter. Anyway, when I noticed the distortion I purchsed the tweeter and mid diaphrams in case any problems would occcur in the future. I have the original receipt of purchase and the original manuals. At this time I am only listing my forte's here. I hope a member in good standing in this community might want them or know of someone who would. These are for local pick-up or delivery within a reasonable distance of NE Ohio (Akron/Medina area). $650 OBO. Thanks for viewing my ad and for your time. Cheers, Scott

  42. Seven post to go Joe. Then you will have a whole bunch of new friends.....heheheheheh I hear those boys already have a special initiation for Joe Okay back from volunteering. Good and ok news. First Toby went to the vet this morning and has lost 13 pounds! Good work Toby! Learned he is going to a Bassett rescue group in Nebraska not a furever home I took him a new choke chain and told him to continue to be a good boy and someone will give him the home he deserves. He didn't want to go back inside and turned and looked with me with those big brown eyes. I teared up. Okay I would be remiss to not take advantage of this opportunity to ask each of you if you're considering a pet....consider a rescue dog. Save a life...or two. Actually Jake reminded me to say that Works for me.

  46. I hate to sound terrible about this, I don't want to see anyone hurt but this is very very strange, since we were talking about accidents. http://news.yahoo.com/family-ejected-driver-sacrificed-lamb-205900021.html "The family of a Los Angeles driver who was killed when he crashed his car and was ejected 20 feet in the air into a freeway sign had only days before performed an animal sacrifice they hoped would protect the 20-year-old from harm. Richard Pananian died on Friday when he was tossed from his small Ford after crashing into another vehicle while driving at what California Highway Patrol called a high rate of speed. His body was found on an interstate sign above the wreckage."

  47. Thanks. Since I had the appropriate uninsured motorist coverage, my insurance company totaled it out and got me back on the road. The aspect that I had a hard time wrapping my head around was that I've driven well over one million miles and have seen plenty of situations unfold that I could avoid easily. This one there was just no place to go. It sure was an experience that I wouldn't wish it on anyone; however, I was pleasantly surprised how many of the civilian first responders remained calm, quickly assessed the situation and prevented something a lot worse. Thanks. End of July. There is one more situation that I encountered the first of October. It seems that some drivers do not look to see if someone is stopped at a red traffic light before they try to proceed through the light. I picked up a very mint car for a nice price coming off of a three year lease and about a mile or so from my office, I get rear-ended by an Explorer. Had I not caught a glimpse in the mirror and let off my brake, it may have been much worse. Not much damage to his vehicle, but mine is currently at $6,000 in repairs and they still need to assess the frame. A few friends have said it is time to go buy a lottery ticket since my luck should be turning around any time now.
