  1. Well the day has finally arrived! My PSA v3600i showed up early yesterday afternoon, man the packaging was no joke, almost rivals Bill's aka willand pack job. The guy who dropped it off thought it was a fridge of some sort. Anyway, this thing is a beast, I knew it was going to be big, but dang! It's quite impressive to witness in person. And the build quality is first class. I haven't had much time yet to do anything other than hook it up and listen to a few songs and some parts of bass heavy movies. With that said my initial impression... Insanity, its just pure effortless power. I haven't had time to re-calibrate and do a sub crawl, but hopefully I'll get a chance this weekend. I did have a couple sealed SI 18" subs that I made, but I decided that for my huge 10,000^3 cubit feet garage that a vented style sub would be a better way to go, and I've been very pleased with the results. My RSW-15 and RB-81 for size reference.

  2. Nope in my opinion after the operation they should be addressed as "it", no man can become a woman or vice versa. You are what you are so get use to it as it cannot really ever be changed. But since the government now seems to support these ridiculous ideas, I've always felt I was born a "non taxpayer" and I've never felt comfortable as a taxpayer. I've decided it's time for me to be my real self and should be allowed to become a trans non taxpayer, I am sure there are others out there we need to unite and demand our rights and be recognized. We're here, we're non taxpayers, get use to it!

  5. Go back, way back in this thread and you'll find many techniques. I use a Bunn (yes it uses electricity 24/7when on but our rates are cheap and it's not noticed on the bill). I couldn't say about spoonfulls because I just fill up the grinder to a certain level and then add the required amount of water for that amount---I do like it more on the strong side.

  6. Good Thursday morning. Coffee and Christmas music as background while reading the paper. A real paper is actually delivered Thursday, Friday and Sunday. Detroit must be the last metro area with two papers, News and Free Press. That won't last much longer. Woke expecting to see that evening rain had turned to snow, but, alas, no. I pity those who like to ski, and those who count on skiing for their livelihood. At current temps, local ski facilities can't even make snow. If they aren't open during the upcoming holiday school breaks they're in deep trouble. Nearly time to go out and embrace the day.

  8. Morning group, trying Starbucks cup of Joe (or something like that). Not bad I must say, anybody have a preferred method how they brew this particular brand? I just use a regular coffee maker, 1 heaping tablespoon per a 6 ounce cup. Has anybody tired the 2 tablespoons per a 6 ounce cup? Seems like that would be a bit strong. Have a great day everyone.

  9. I started this post "Good Deals Here" to show 3 deals that were available & shown in post #1. That's it. They were thought to be good deals, and now we've been guided into a re-hashing out of crap that went down months ago? Thank you crappers! So now the Brighton Michigan Lascala debacle raises from the dead - really? Let if F'n die already. I do remember they were great, sparked a lot of interest, and no-one here wanted to step to the plate and pay the asking price. $1700? Why not? Because many here are seem to be quite cheap, or just looking to flip. Great, to each their own. I don't care either way, but Seller got angry regarding comments either made here, or directly to her through buyer correspondence. So be it - whatever - They're gone - why do we keep instigating and revisiting this? Or going over "dibs", price escalations, etc. There are shitty people everywhere, those that are out just for themselves, and it doesn't take long for them to expose themselves. If you don't like a price, then take a nap. Don't belittle a poster for sharing an alert - We're just trying to help. Don't bully a seller online through this forum - it undermines what I think this place is really for. Going forward, just be niceR damn it. This from someone who has <300 posts - go figure !

  10. The Las Scalas referred to in Post #24 were sold to a man from Saginaw for $1,000. Anyone who saw the original Garage Sale listing and photos knows that he received a very good deal. The seller told me that she was annoyed by the sarcastic chatter on the Klipsch forum without anyone making an offer. She was personally invested in the unpleasant task of selling her late father's LaScalas that had not moved from that spot since they were purchased new some 40 years earlier. She more than once said that there were a few forum members to whom she would not have sold them at any price. IMO, there is a difference between a Garage Sale ad and an Alert. Unless a seller in a Garage Sale ad comes across as a troll, they deserve courteous respect. If the price is too high, make a lower offer. Public criticism of the seller or the goods in a Garage Sale post might amuse the posters, it did not amuse the seller. As a consequence, the forum lost an opportunity to get exceptional La Scalas for $1,000. As to Alerts postings, criticizing the seller and the item is, IMO, fair game.

  21. Not true, there is a man in prison who is supposedly going to get the operation(s) to become a woman on the tax payers. I believe he won the case already, it was supposedly cruel punishment for him to be denied the surgery, Although I don't see why this means the peoples taxes should pay for this, he should at the very least have to pay for the surgery himself. But this has nothing to do with my tax theory, that is just a making fun of the whole situation and how stupid our government has become, Also I don't care about anyones feelings a man will never be a woman no matter how he feels or what surgery is performed artifcial is artificial. Margarine is not real butter and cannot legally claim to be. Also sorry the man in the video is not a six year old girl no matter how he feels or how badly he may want it.

  26. One last thought and then I'll keep quiet. People who come to this forum to sell Klipsch gear often do so expecting to find a group of knowledgeable and interested Klipsch aficionados, which they find. What they're often unpleasantly surprised to learn is these same people have a keen sense of the market and are not willing to pay inflated prices. The tension that develops between expectations and reality is often uncomfortable. I'm certain that most here are pleasant, civil and respectful in person. Face to face, most would have treated Terri with all due courtesy and respect. Unfortunately, the anonymity of the keyboard makes it easy to forget that real humans are at the other end. In this case, Terri was reluctantly selling her father's prized La Scalas. She was in no hurry. It was very important to her that they go to someone who would cherish them as did her recently deceased father. She was profoundly disappointed by the treatment she received here. I urged her to be patient with the members and to tolerate the impersonalization of the Internet. She was worn out and sold them to a gentleman who drove several hours from Saginaw to Milford and paid $1,000 cash. Her post can be seen at: https://community.klipsch.com/index.php?/topic/157317-1976-la-scala-speakers/ It would do us well, me included, to remember that humans with feelings are involved. If we wouldn't say something to a person's face, we should not do so online. My opinion only. Peace.

  28. If a Klipsch Forum member calls dibs, I wouldn't try to shoot him out of the deal - even if it was in my home town. If anything, I would do all I can to help. It might be a cold cruel world, but I won't make me lower my ethics. I've seen people call dibs before and think it's a good idea to let the person try to make a deal. If it doesn't work, then it's fair game again, IMHO I agree with the sentiment to a point. As between you and another interested member. I too would not try to beat out another member. Unfortunately, the seller is free to sell to the first one with the cash. IMO, the concept of "dibs" has no place in adult dealings unless the seller recognizes and honors a person's prior claim or interest. IMO, the best way to demonstrate your wishes is to strike a mutually agreed to bargain. Too many times forum members express interest, hem & haw, ask for better photos only to be ultimately disappointed when a serious and motivated buyer (forum member or not) swoops in with cash. It's naive to expect seller's to jump through hoops and honor "dibs" if the cash shows up at their door or in their PayPal account. YMMV

  31. Thanks for all the replies. I'll take a look at them in more detail but in the meantime, let me clarify what I am looking for. I do want a calibration device as I know that doing it by eye is just not accurate and consistent enough. Monitors do change over time so buying a calibrated monitor will only be sufficent for a certain period of time. As I understand, monitors should be calibrated about once every month when used in a pro-quality environment (if not more often). While I am just a hobbyist, I am looking for pro-quality results (or at least approaching that level). I shoot in raw format and as such, all images require some level of post processing. The type of results I am after would be to get photos suitable for printing and hanging on the wall. I do like to enter some of my photos in contests such as at state fairs and such. I have also joined photography clubs and would often enter my photos in their contests as well. Right now I am leaning towards getting an X-Rite i1 Display Pro. There is currently a $30 rebate that expires soon and I just missed out on a one-day sale by B&H where the price was $160. This device normall sells in the $200 + range so I'm willing to pay around that price. I would've bought it had I not just barely missed out on that offer. I'll have to keep a close eye out for any other special prices. This device can also calibrate projectors so I'm assuming it would be great for a HT projector as well. I don't plan on printing at home so will use printing labs for that purpose. I've printed at Costco with good results but without a calibrated monitor, I don't always get the exact result I was hoping for. I've also used M-Pix when I want to get something a bit better than Costco. I know that getting a monitor calibrator is just the first step and there are many things I'll need to learn with regards to color management, but I am looking to take that first step.

  32. If you don't plan to buy a second Rythmik down the road, I would take the two subs over just one. Why, large room, better room coverage and FR. Don't get me wrong, the FV 15 is one of the best ID sub and would be at the top of my list for purchase. Two subs will allow make each one work less hard and decrease distortion, add 3 db in output which is also nice. IMHO the Klipsch subs get ragged on to much. I still use and small Klipsch sub and have not thought about getting rid of it. If you want room shaking bass, that may or may not be possible but good deep bass is possible with two of any of the subs you listed. It took me several years and lots of upgraditis to figure out my bass system goals. Get a couple of the subs and you will be happy. The forum is here is help you get the most out of them. Everyone is not crazy and want to put 8 subs in the living room like me. That is why I got kicked out of the family rooma and into the basement, lol. Room aesthetics is also very important.

  34. Good question, I want to hear the answer also, I have a good monitor but have no clue, is a special monitor needed ? There may be something online that can be used to calibrate a monitor ? I know I have the wrong cable on this monitor so i need to get the better on first, I never think about it.

  46. Not much just catching up on everything to get out of town and at the same time spending time with the wife's brother and his wife. We get along great, were both smart @sses and have the same opinion on most things that count. Been setting out in the bar every night until late, having drinks and listening to music, how could I complain about that, fit's my normal plans. Because of this I haven't been here much, just check in when I can. Mr. Crow is coming along nicely. I still like the idea of being able to have it say certain phrases, it could be hilarious. Da-cave............sounds like you have spent some time down here when you say dat. "I still like the idea of being able to have it say certain phrases" Remember, i started building this for me, no big deal, had plans for exactly what my Mr Crow was goig to do. Wife see's what in up to and states, got to have him. Fine, i'll build another, parts being what they are ill build servo next. The reason i quoted you is "you are really really close"
