  1. Morning Gents. Remind me not to let LF take my picture after I've finished the bourbon and started on the scotch I look like I'm ready for bed. dtel the wounds on Jake's legs are self inflicted. He gnaws on himself when his arthritis is bothering him. Have tried pain meds and cold laser therapy. Laser therapy helped but then he starting on the other leg I give him a baby aspirin and a couple of homeopathic pain meds as well. I hope Christy is better this morning. I'm sure she is exhausted from the Pilgrimage and not being able to breathe. Tell her tarheel says hey!

  2. I got this for my birthday in March and it has changed my life. No more frigg'n starbucks and it taste better as well. The grinder is good, the hot water / steamer is good. It is also portable as it has its own water tank on the back. Once dialed in it is amazing.....

  6. Late on the coffee trail today, but starting the second pail. Woke up early with a killer headache, looked out the window, see the possum eating vittles. All is well in possum kingdom. Back to bed for the morning after some self medication, still groggy come hockey time, coffee is the ticket. The good news is Man U lost 2-0. Time for Nashville to up their game.

I will let the wife know we have it for 24hrs, maybe she will watch it. Dtel take care of yourself.

  16. Always wanted one of them and never did get one, the dogs keep me busy enough. There is a wild plant here that eats bugs, a Pitcher plant, I think they are in many places and are many different colors and shapes. Around here you find them in wet or damp areas. A bug goes in and the top closes. A rough idea of one type, internet pic.

  20. Greetings. whelpers it sure was some nice days here this past week what with the rain and very nice cool down yesterday and this mornings 48 degrees F. Cannot recall having it this nice this late in the season where I am located. Maybe a record, cannot say. Anyhow just soaking it up while I can. Should have clear sky tonight for stargazing. Eldon and Dave have gotten me in the mood, along with the weather. Cannot expect it to last and am somewhat prepared for the bliss to end. Have an ancient looking Sharp AC maybe 5000 btu wall unit that I tried to see if working the other day so, yeah, noisy but works. Have tall windows toward the east of my batch cottage which I gaze towards each night while here anyway. Guess I could find out the general direction to look for meteor showers. Oh, on my second cup of Community coffee here and enjoying their dark roast. Feel like I took a Red Rooster pill here.Cheers! Friend from Bemidji Minn. back until this Sunday. Got to visit with and spin him a few records. Wants me to come see him, and thinking I can handle the place in their summer and not break a sweat. I know, I am a wimp with the heat anymore.

  23. I have had a set of AA crossover Industrial La Scalas for a while now. Really liked them but found myself turning the bass all the way down and still not being satisfied. Tried Forte II and Chorus and both were nice but still not what I wanted. Now I picked up a couple sets of KP-250s with their subs one of which was a KP 480 with a ported cabinet and no passive. Tried them out today and found out just how much I have been missing all this time. The industrial La Scalas to me have much better definition than the five sets of LSBRs I have gone through but the low end was muddy such as it was. Toccata and Fugue in D minor never sounded right to me with the three sets of speakers I mentioned above although the Forte II and Chorus were both much better with bass, just not as crisp a sound as the La Scalas. So today I hook the 480s to the La Scalas and get blown away by how much I had been missing. Instead of an attempt at bass or bass but no real clear definition to it I now had superb everything. Discovering that I can leave the bass settings close to neutral and hear all the instruments AND feed my bass desires with complete clarity. This was unexpected and for the first time I find myself completely satisfied with what I hear. I may very well change the caps out later this year as I have been advised this to will make a difference. I feed the 480s and La Scalas with an 80 watt Onkyo and can't begin to get near full output before it becomes painful. It's nice to see things move on the metal table close by. Hard to imagine so much volume from such a little wattage. John Albright stopped in and suggested that with the two 800 watt amps I got with the KP 250s and subs I should set them all up outside and have a yard party I just might drag the La Scalas and 480s to the shop door and have at it one day just to see but I believe I will pass on the rest.

  25. The important thing is your own satisfaction. I say that for the same reason I balk at auto-cal room correction. No one can tell you what sounds good to your ears except you. A good example of this is that most people here will say the newer RF II gear and the latest RP gear sounds better than the Reference Line previously. But I think the first gen Reference are better. Most people on the Emotiva forums would use the EmoQ or Dirac for their sound calibration - I insist on running it flat. It's all a matter of perspective and finding that sound that resonates with you. Good looking out! @wvu80 - Haha, thanks. I figured now that I'm sending the applications out to grad schools I better clean up my act!

  29. Exactly. No matter what we do with our systems it is not possible to recreate a theater like Carnegie Hall, Fillmore East, or even a large college auditorium in our homes. And that is why I made the point about listening level. A 120 db peak heard in even a 5k cu. ft. listening room isn't going to sound the same as it does in a theater. About the best we can do is to get some reasonable facsimile which reminds us of the live event (try, for example, to duplicate Chicago's Carnegie Hall performance of around 1971, or Santana's at Fillmore East from '68, in your listening room and you will quickly see my point- it is a total impossibility regardless of what kind of system you employ). 31. bob, I've had them replaced a few months now and to my ears they sound great other than maybe a bit of harshness at loud levels, but that's not an issue with the woofers. I've never heard the original stock RC-7 to compare as I received it with a bad woofer which was my reason for replacing both. They assured me that they tested for use in the RC-7 and I trusted their word. I also think they look aesthetically much better and could match any of the newer line of Klipsch speakers including the new RF-7 III with the black front baffle. I'm sorry, but I have sold the working original woofer. The site where I ordered it from has 1 in stock, and more on the way this month. You can send them a message on facebook and they are pretty good at speedy responses. * They make a note "You may need new slip-on connectors to use in these models. You can request that we send slip-on connectors in the notes section of your order if using for one of these alternate models." I guess I was the first to try it because I brought it to their attention that the original slip on connecter from the RC-7 wires were too small, so do ask them for the proper ones and then you will have to crimp them on yourself. http://reconingspeakers.com/product/klipsch-1011974-rf-82-mkii-woofer/

  32. this is a story of being a tight end ...and becoming a loose end. Former Oregon player Colt Lyerla caught after escape from corrections center Colt Lyerla was apprehended after escaping from a Washington County (Ore.) Correctional facility. Kevin Spain | USA TODAY SportsUpdated 7:29 p.m. ET May 5, 2017 Former Oregon tight end Colt Lyerla was caught by Hillsboro, Ore., police one day after he escaped from the Washington County Community Correction Center, the Oregonian reported. Lyerla was serving a six-month sentence on forgery charges and for a probation violation. He got out through a window Thursday evening and a warrant had been issued for his arrest. Police found Lyerla on N.E. Parkside Drive in Hillsboro after someone called them about a man overdosing on drugs. He was apprehended and taken to the hospital for treatment. He will be booked into the Washington County jail after his release from the hospital, a police spokesman said. A former tight end for the Ducks, Lyerla has had more than his share of trouble since leaving the program. Lyerla was convicted for heroin possession earlier this year. He was also sentenced in April for forgery after he pleaded guilty to using counterfeit money at several convenience stores.

  34. Fiction, Non-Fiction...... doesn't matter to me. A good book, is a good book, is a good book. Read time is special to me as well, that's why I prefer a good book. Most of the time I read because I have too, but when I read for my personal enjoyment, that's what I do, I don't read to impress anyone, except myself. Thank goodness for the creative minds of Mark Twain, E.A. Poe, J. Salinger, E.R. Bouroughs, R. Kipling.... all fiction, all great authors of timeless, classics.

  38. Only diagnosis was little or no air movement in lower lobe of right lung. They could not provide any additional diagnosis citing the need for pulmonary specialist to order some advanced testing. We think it's a issue directly related to cleaning up Elden's aunt's home after Katrina. (Mold/mildew) Some of the symptoms go back that far and have worsened over time.

  39. In all fairness, I was a little scared. I was very sick and nothing we did seemed to help me get a lot better. Very thankful for all the help we had and to everyone for keeping me medicated as best as possible. Could not be prouder to be associated with such a great company and all of our forum members.
