I also heard no advance notice of this. I would have loved to have seen it in person and might have even put up with the below zero temps to witness.6 points

Morning all! Mid-20s and about 3 inches of light fluffy snow that I just shoveled off my driveway. It's a long/wide driveway but I just did not feel like firing up the tractor and getting diesel fumes up in me. I've been meaning to get back on the workout bandwagon. I'll count todays 1.5 hours of shoveling as my first workout of 2018. Now time for that 2nd cup of joe.5 points

So this is exciting for a retired southerner that's seen TX, the bayou states and the Carolina beaches get more snow than us the past decade. Looks like we'll have a half foot by tonight. Our bonsai dogwood looks cool with the snow on it too. With what we've got in the fridge it's gonna be chili or Texas hash for the next couple of days plus chips, frijole and salsa!4 points

The news I heard said "experts" estimated the size between a golf and tennis ball! I guess hitting the atmosphere at 45,000 mph has that effect?4 points

Good morning. Wish I could say I saw, heard, or felt the meteor last evening in Southeast Michigan, but I did not. https://www.theverge.com/2018/1/17/16900274/meteor-detroit-explode-nasa-meteorite If this is for real, why wasn’t there been more news about it’s impending arrival? Are we no better at predicting such events than the dinosaurs? I gues their meteor was bigger than this one.4 points

OK I did laugh the first time I seen the name, I guess even stoners need to clean some glass sometimes ? Invisible Glass, it's Willie Nelson approved !3 points

I think you named some of the best already, but there is something much better than Windex if your looking for something easy like that. It was under the cabinet so I tried it and it does not streak like Windex. It's called Invisible Glass, it seems to work well. I hate cleaning glass, I know the newspaper thing is good but I just hate using it.....not that I clean windows often at all. I mostly use it for removing junk from glasses or Yeti cups I need to put a stencil on to etch.3 points

Nice pics John. I really like the looks of winter, sometimes it hides a lot of ugliness. It has a calming serene feeling to me. I just hate it when it gets scary cold, Monday we had a -26 windchill3 points

Elbow grease. If you're doing a lot of windows, there's nothing better and faster than a squeegee made for glass cleaning. It'll have a sponge/cleaner on one side and the rubber squeegee on the other. Mix up a pail of glass cleaner and you'll be done in no time.3 points

`Mornin folks. Got a little bit of snow today. Big goose feather type that the "big snow, little snow" phrase came from didn't hold because it's turned smaller and doesn't appear it will stop until dinnertime. I planted a group of volunteer saplings in the front yard to stop the heat of the afternoon sun and ten years later they're about 30-35' tall. These tulip trees make a yellow-orange-green flower in the spring that turns into a wooden shell of that flower until the next spring. They look like little ice cream cones right now!3 points

Thank you for sharing that @Ro60. My best to you and your continuing recovery. The sooner you have the speaker inconvenience resolved the better.3 points

DizRotus, unfortunately I must tell you the same thing: I am sick of leukemia for a year and a half but in the process of recovery. Everything is ok and I lead a normal life with my job, sports, mountain bike, I continue the medical checks and the therapies and I listen as much as possible good music with the Klipsch!3 points

Wow! I missed the purchase price. SWEEEEET score bro! You beat me as I paid $400 for mine with no receiver. LOL. That most definitely classifies as a Youthman Deal.3 points

They have only been shipping these out for a couple weeks, and only a few on here have them yet. You might have more luck contacting Klipsch about a drawing or plans showing the RF7lll's internals. Not many people want to disassemble their brand new speakers. Good luck.3 points

I recently hit the jackpot on craigslist and scored a complete system for just $299. The insane part is when you hear what the main speakers are. Mains: RF-7 Center: RC-3 Sub: KSW-12 Surrounds: RS-3. Receiver: Yamaha RX-V2400 EVERYTHING TOGETHER for only $299!!!!! And they're in good shape. He just wanted them out of there. Or his wife did. I already sold the sub and the receiver so I'm almost down to $0 for the RF-7s!!!!!!!!!!! Now, to see if I can upgrade the crossovers on the RF-7's. I tried to call Dean using the number and email listed on his facebook page but the number didn't work so I shot him an email and message but haven't heard back yet. Is he still doing crossovers? Or are there details and instructions somewhere so I can buy the parts and do it myself? Thanks!2 points

Have something similar happen here but not from frost and on a smaller scale. Usually it happens in the summer, when it's hot and a cloud or rain passes over, or the opposite, you can hear the metal roof make slight popping noises from the metal expanding and contracting. Sounds what you have going on is a little more extreme, as long as there is no damage.2 points

........... must of found a nice British girl... That's bound to happen if Steve is giving out buds.2 points

I wouldn't if I were them, I am sure someone would complain, copy or at least whine about something. To many braces not enough braces, crossover wire not there favorite and of course capacitors and drivers. Plus I am sure someone would make their own putting there own "much preferred" drivers claiming many breakthroughs. I wasn't directing this at you Koh, or anyone in particular, it's just the way some people act. It seems you could give some a gold monkey and they would ask why it is not a different shade of gold ? Sorry I just have a low tolerance for whiny people.2 points

My wife and I were hearing some very odd thumping sounds late at night, like someone dropped a bag of concrete on our roof. I thought something broke under a snow load, but when I searched for damage, I didn't find any. She found out they are called frost quakes....... Experts call the noises thermal expansion and contraction. That means the components in your home are shrinking and expanding with extreme temperature changes, especially with the sub-zero temperatures so many of us have been experiencing recently. "There's motion because the outside temperature is different from the temperature inside of your house, so these differentials could cause movement in a different direction and could create that noise," Wentworth Institute of Technology professor Garrick Goldenberg said. And when materials are tightly secured with nails or fasteners, and the pressure becomes too great, the energy may be released suddenly and cause a loud noise. And as unsettling and nerve-wracking as they sound, it's not usually a sign of danger.2 points

INDEED YOU DID! Congratulations sir! The RF-7 alone would have been a sweet score for $300. I love buying from people that are just looking to "get rid of stuff". That's exactly how you do it. Buy a "lot", sell what you don't want and often get stuff for free or even make money on the deal. Yes, @Deang is still doing crossovers. I'll reach out to him as well and point him to this thread.2 points

Looking at the sun streaming through the filthy windows. Who has the magic pill for exterior window cleaning? I know about Windex, ammonia, newspaper, alcohol, and microfiber towels. What else?2 points

20 here this morning. I was watching the news this morning and some Houston roads have been closed and people at a stand still for 5 hours. I can't imagine how far traffic is backed up. We're not used to this.2 points

Good morning Woke up to rain and 32 degrees. Hard freeze warning for tomorrow morning. May brave it out later for a couple of things. Keeps raining will have to pull out my rubbers. I know, my kind of weather right.2 points

Good description of efficiency vs sensitivity in that link. However...not sure I'd put too much trust in his ability to determine sound quality: "There is no connection between the efficiency and the sound quality." ...I think there was this guy who said efficiency is inversely proportional to distortion. I wonder if he ever made any speakers we enjoy... :-) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk2 points

I listened to both the F3's and CW3's extensively before buying the CW3's. ..To my ears, they were a draw (and sounded very much alike - could not pick a preference) w/ respect to smoothness and imaging. ..But in terms of dynamics and bass extension, the CW's won pretty decisively. ..Which they probably should given their greater cabinet volume and cost (>$1200). That said, if I was budget or space constrained, I would have been happy w/ the F3s. Since I was not, I could not be happier w/ my choice. Is the newer horn on the F3 supposed to represent an improvement? Are people just assuming it's better b/c it's newer? Edit: My hunch is that some Cornwall loyalists are annoyed that it now shares drivers w/ the lowly Heresy - but why would that be bad? The Heresy is awesome!2 points

In my business, I was explaining an unforeseen delay to a customer when she put up her hand to stop me and said, "I'm a cancer survivor, this is merely an inconvenience." I wish all of my customers could put things in the proper perspective. I too am curious about the explanation for the cabinet separation that occurred.2 points
