My turntable is a PTP audio 9. Built In the Netherlands with parts from classic Lencos. It is absolutely the most amazing turntable that I have owned - and I have owned a great number of them. It’s hard to describe how much better records sound compared to when listened on belt drive tables. And I mean any belt drive. It’s a different world for sure! Just saying!4 points

We're proud of that! Volume has been increasing of late; we expect a large crest factor in November.4 points

Your ear might have become acclimated to the more boomy and bloomy direct radiating 15" woofer of the Cornwall but in the end, despite not digging as low, you will fall in love with the more natural and much tighter folded horn of the LSii.3 points

Nice pics there, all of them. Still running my selection through the Sansui TT and loving it. Sold an H/K TD-202 to a local famous musician yesterday. Hope he likes it as I he could return it. He is still spinning vinyl too. He may have a solution to my Wi-Fi prob. If I do not say, Happy 4th, and to you too FR...;)3 points

yes, overcook. You can achieve the same effect by sauteeing the cloves in a pan with a bit of olive oil. Let them turn golden, but not brown.3 points

As long as the crest is not from the ground or Yellowstone, being in the middle (almost) we call California the left coast Ny the right coast. The left cost does fit the name a little better, we can't call both the left coast. Bluegrass, don't think there are many fans of that left, maby some old country people, I'm old but couldn't handle it, I tried. I like a little jazz, rock, blues and alot of reggae.3 points

I've had that conversation with a few Harley riders over the years. After a few comments like "get that foreign piece of sh*t off the road". A couple times I showed the guy their Showa forks and shocks, or their Keihin carbs, or the foreign electronics. I don't mind their bikes, but the elitist attitude is what I didn't like.3 points

I looked at another table and demoed a few but nothing came close to what the 125 can do, the dynamics just wasnt there on others Sent from my LG-H990 using Tapatalk3 points

I rewired the tone arm with cryogenicly treated silver wire. Not a recommended endeavor! Sounds fantastic but it was a *****! In addition to the turntable built by Peter Reinders of PTP audio fame, I also built a turntable using parts supplied by PTP and done parts from a classic lenco.3 points

Awesome so the 3rd of July must be international La Scala day [emoji4] Sent from my LG-H990 using Tapatalk3 points

I have a pair of La Scala ii coming Tuesday also according to trucking company. Going to place them where the Heresy III sit for starters. My “room” lacks walls, it is a loft area open on two sides. They have to pressurize a big space. Maybe a while before I can comment. But hope to get some playing time Wednesday. It is the 4th of July.3 points

As you know, there is a group that wants to do that. But their volume control turns to the Right (mostly). We like classical and jazz, they like Muzak and bluegrass (actually bluegrass is a refreshing change of pace for some of us, as well).3 points

A lamb and 2 chickens for an average goat 🐂 Daughters friend came over yesterday, they cooked, he cooked two different things one was lamb and one goat, both with vegetables and baked. Also lamb chops on the grill, I ate one. It was good but I'm just not a lamb or goat person, it was tender but just not normal for me. I read it's actually lower in fat and better for you, but not for me I guess, the middle eastern seasoning was also new to me, could have been part of it ?2 points

Schu, Get that thang fired up. I've had one for over 30 years, I love it. Grill a steak, smoke up some ribs, roast a turkey. And a course more chicken any man ever seen.2 points

I inherited a Hibachi from a relative... actually made in Japan... I think they are very expensive. I still haven't used it. I probably should try it at some point. It's brand new unused.2 points

Re —- http://thehope.tripod.com/rgface12.htm @dirtmudd - believe it or not I never paid to much attention to the origins of that cover - and via your link, it’s the first time I have the meaning of it 👌2 points

Did I say this before? I first saw vibrating panel speakers in Thos Tenny Audio in Berkeley CA, in c.1961. They had membranes that looked like wood, but probably were not, framed in fine hardwood frames. They sounded well balanced, but, in comparison with the JBL speakers they also had, no high treble detail, treble attenuated, and the deepest bass was nonexistent. I played in the high school orchestra at the time, so I brought in Lp records of some of the stuff we played. With some selections they sounded fine, but they flunked the 1812 Overture and The Great Gate of Kiev. They couldn't handle the high SPL, and after that even the soft parts and the micro-dynamics didn't sound too good. Either we had undergone some auditory training hearing the JBLs, or the salesperson had wrecked the speakers. My dad and I left with the JBLs2 points

Shifting gears now. The new foam surrounds are on order, but I am leaving on vacation next week so they will have to wait. Wife wont let me bring my LSI splits so I had to compromise and bring a set of Heresy instead. So had to dust them off and try them out tonight. They should work out just fine. Heading to a much bigger lake in Michigan. In laws and outlaws, house sleeps 30 but doubt we will end up with that many. Good time every year.2 points

It's easy, buy the kit and follow the instructions it's not hard at all. It might be a good idea to see if they have replacements that are not foam ? I had a pair of Baby Advents that had to be replaced about every 5 years, I gave them to a son in law. If I can replace the foam anyone can. Looks like everyone got lucky with the cabin.2 points
