  6. Now I can relax and enjoy just a tad. Backstreet is a 1983 album by David Sanborn. The album peaked at number one on the Billboard Traditional Jazz albums chart on January 27, 1984. A double thumbs up on this one from the stash.

They just melt the wimmen so it's time to throw this one on for the ride outta the venue! 😂 Sticky Fingers is the 9th British and 11th American studio album by the English rock band the Rolling Stones. The Stones released it on 23 April 1971 on their new, and own label Rolling Stones Records. Yaaaas, your parents really DID know what was going on at those shows didn't they? 😂

  30. My son has been learning how to play bass and has been taking lessons for a few months now. Since I will never pass up the opportunity to purchase musical instruments, when he asked for his own bass for his birthday, I figured why not. We went to Guitar Center a week or so ago where he tried a few lower end models that were within our budget. Unfortunately, the one he liked was out of our budget, which was a black and white Jackson X series concert bass. Today I went in to pick up one that he was settled on and right as I walked in was the X series on clearance for half the price. Sales rep: Would you like to try that out? Me: No not today my good man, I'm feeling saucy, I think I'm going to buy it.

  31. winter is back here as well , since a couple of days it´s raining or snowing the whole day through , wet and lousy. However , I travelled around some neighbour citys within the past few days, visited some cultural architectures at old buildings and churches. Got some days off , so I´ve deceided to spin around by car a bit Love to listen to the GoldNote M 9 Hybrid Monotubes at night , they play awesome . We all still shocked about the " amok " in Hamburg last night with 6 shot death people as well as an unborn baby and the killer shot himselve, Not the first time in germany .....

  32. @JohnJon the Skunk... "South City Midnight Lady", while being about South San Francisco, is not about any woman in particular. Jeff Baxter of Steely Dan played pedal steel guitar on the track. He would become an official Doobie Brother in 1974.

  33. Yeah, I was a vinyl DJ...we called the computer DJ's "Mr. Microphone Outfits!" LOL! I had 2 partners and we kinda split the gear and music when we started getting adult lives and grew apart. Our music collection was sold off as were all of the audio gear, lighting and even the van! I guess I can be a casual media guy! Just buying a few albums here, a few cassettes there...but streaming is the way! No doubt! I just don't want to have all this gear and not have any media to play in it, LOL! Gotta have at least a small collection!

  36. Yea, you're dialed in and I'm looking for one of my hearing aids. Talk about sucks to be me??? Went to the Duckburg bank to get some cash @ the drive-thru ATM, Got home and realized I didn't have it in. Did I ever tell you about how hard it is to find something on a magic carpet? Maybe it'll turn up but nothing at the cop shop either this morning. I'll check fb marketplace later. Maybe I can buy it back. 😂 Otherwise I'm gonna be just like @KROCK. On a fixed income. lol Why don't they make one that works w/a Clapper so you can find it? 😂

  37. Do not let one bad apple determine your choice. The secret is "Tubes still rule when it comes to sound." Last count I have 24 amps, I believe or possible more both SS and tubes and all are quite on my LaScala's. Tube amps are just as quite as SS amps if designed and working correctly My choice of reproduction is SET's tube amps. A loud hard rocker will be better off with SS but for purist that can appreciate fine music SET tube is the way to go. Mostly only horn speakers can be used with a SET which makes our speakers so desirable. I can shake walls with just 5 watts of SET amplification and it makes music fill your whole room at any level. Holographic is the word often used. Not everyone's taste reason for so many different types of amplification but single ended triode amplification is the purist form. No manipulation of the audio signal in a SET as other forms do. This being said there are some SS amps that come really close to the tube sound but the word is really close. Slight edge still goes to a quality SET amplifier. Detail, singer in the room with you, room filling. Spooky is the word some use to described the sound. Not everyone can appreciate the advantages in sound though. One of my builds is below. Pentode being run single ended.

  38. Yes, I have been slowly building a vintage hifi system...there is just something about that old silver faced audio gear, I love looking at it, listening to it and to an extent, it's the thrill of the chase trying to source and buy it (for a good deal, of course!) But music is different...I do stream 90% of what I listen to but I like the nostalgia of queuing up a record or the feel of popping a cassette into a deck! It's so hard and expensive to find these old formats today! Plus, when I walk into a record store, it is impossible for an indecisive chap like myself to pick out a few titles, LOL! A million titles out there and I can't think of one song I really want to purchase, HAHA! I almost like buying blind lots of music just to see what I get!

  39. Good topic, I live in a place where it is winter more than it isn't. Our annual Snowking festival started last week. It is always a hoot. The snow carving is underway and there are bands playing inside the ice castle. We will be heading down to Old Town to spend time this weekend. https://snowking.ca/

  41. They're mine. Tons of feedback in the first couple days of listing. Universal praise for their looks: comments all over the board on the asking price. I guess that would make it right then. The biggest complainers are naturally the guys with khorns that can't believe you could ever improve on them. You would have thought I gave the Venus de Milo a boob job.

  44. @the real Duke Spinner That's crazy wild. I really don't know what they do around here. I'm an hour from Sandusky but have a lot of friends who live up there. Guy I grew up with retired and became a Charter Captain up there. He told me he booked an entire week last summer for some Japanese company. 50 different guys/10 per day. They limited out in 3 hours on the lake and when they docked they guys all started leaving. He asked if they wanted the fish all together or bagged up for each guy. They looked at him and told him to keep the fish they didn't want them. It was that way every day for 5 days. Guess they just wanted to catch them. Stewart is sounding amazing on this half-speed. Kinda like fishin. Good therapy!
