  1. "Curbside find" today Leaning to wall of the building next to my workplace, were several LPs. Most of them junk, but this one, I saved. Still have to wash it, the cover is a bit wilted, but altogether a good find I say.

  9. I´m back from my rehab since wednesday afternoon , feeling better now , but there is no cure for me, just relief. I will not get rid of my back problems without an operation, but the risk of possible paralysis is very high because the operation is too close to the spinal cord. I will probably be retired in the next 6 months as I will probably no longer be able to work. Well...I could live with that too me ....😁

  11. @dirtmudd Yep, knew you'd know you were the other guy I'd said would know who he was! As a matter of fact you told me about that release years ago... said it had the best version of Dr. Diamond on it. Supposedly it got left off of "Starless & Bible Black" but not put on another I guess gave the fans something to look forward to with nearby or day-trip away shows!

  12. Like the tune! Those super crates hold 100 + LPs and I don't count the doubles or triples. That aloe came from under a pier at the Shark Bite Capital of the World... New Smyrna Beach, FL in the mid-90s. In Ormond, Maitland then in Rockledge and also Port St John is the rest of it. I was with a gypsy then... they were left there three to four feet tall with a flower like fireworks that shot up out of the middle. They spread like crabgrass, with shoots. I've got those pots with me. Died with the others where I was confined in sc. No direct light into any window. Tried outside finally, and a cat killed em all and mom's pearl plant. So when I road trip back down to the Free & Protected State of Florida to surprise my X, I'll get another shoot!

  13. I don't understand most of what you're saying, but I'm glad people are engaged with the question. I have the Fisher amp listed for sale on Reverb thinking I could use the funds for other enhancements to my system. However, I'm starting to rethink. We have a shop in town that refurbishes vintage audio equipment and I may take it in for an evaluation. @83 LSIs question of whether it is operating at 100% has me thinking.

  16. I'm not sure if this will work, so please bare with me. I had trouble logging in so I found one of my old post to reply to. Life got busy with opening up a cabinet business and I didn't make too many changes to my system. I also haven't been in contact with the good friends and people on this Forum that helped me out with my modifications. I may mention names later. I'm finally going to get into Dolby Atmos and purchased a different processor to do so. Also getting ready to buy some different equipment. Next purchase will be the Magnetar UPD-800 Blu-ray player. I have been trying to purchase some Klipsch Cinema Surround speakers, but I'm having trouble finding a dealer. I have to search a little harder. I'm thinking of the KPT-12-VB, KPT-8-VB, Kpt-1200-VBM . I need 2 surrounds, and I might use them for 4 ceiling mounted Atmos speakers. Have to see what kind of frequency response is actually sent to the those Atmos channels. With these changes I'm going to sell 2 pairs of LaScalas , 1 pair of Klipschorns. The Klipschorns are stock, they used to be my benchmark speaker that I used when modifying other speakers. I havent listened to them in years. The LaScalas are my front and rear height speakers which I can't use as surrounds and ceiling speakers. I'll probably list these in the Garage sale section one of these days before going to eBay. That's all I'm going to say for now. I want to see if this reply post. Then I'll try starting a new one. I have to search the members list to see if some of the old timers like me are still active here. May have to change my old pass word, and email address. Q-Man

  25. The Cinema Series soundbars are being replaced with a new series. That's why you can find some great "deals". There are lots of posts about the Cinema 400 and the Cinema 600 soundbars, not all good I'm afraid. You may want to review the Klipsch support articles for the Cinema Series soundbars. If your Cinema 400 was just purchased, perhaps you can return it?

  26. Welcome @Powerhousehb Going to contact @KevinB He knows alot about sound bar systems. May have an answer.

  27. If I would had read all the above I would not have purchased my Cinema 400 this morning. I got a good deal on it and pulled the trigger. I have the sound bar hooked up through hdmi and have not had an issue yet. Been running it for the last 8 hrs. Sound is good. I regret not going for the cinema 600 or higher. The cinema 400 is not compatible with the connect app which has a equalizer to tweak your sound and I did not know that until after I setup my cinema 400.

  33. "We recommend using a capacitor as a crossover in the plus line to the tweeter, something from 0.47mfd to 1.5mfd. The smaller the capacitor value the higher it will crossover and the quieter the tweeter becomes. If the tweeter is still too bright after trying different capacitors, you can add a 1 ohm resistor in series with the capacitor and try the different capacitors again." I would start with 1.5uF, which is 1.3kHz. This sounds high, but the Fs for that tweeter is pretty high at 5kHz. 1.5uF would put you 6dB down just slightly above resonance -- which sounds right to me. If the tweeter sounds too hot, use the .68uF. Buy cheap caps to dial it in, then buy some nice films once you feel like you have it where you want it.

  34. As most of you know there was a shooting at Roseburg's local community college. Although this happened less then 15 miles from home, I can't tell anyone anything that is not in the News. I can request that we not add to the 15 minutes of fame that these shooters expect to get. I do fully support our County Sheriff's choice to not to add to the shooter's fame by not releasing this A Holes name. Please don't identify anyone by name that does anything like this. Although I firmly believe in Free Speech, I wish the News organizations would refrain from naming shooters. In our case there was a young man that meets my definition of a hero as while others ran away he ran to the shooter while encouraging others to run. He should be honored for his actions. God Speed his recovery from his wounds. Pray for the families if it is your belief. Pray for our Community as we are shocked, and in mourning. If you choose to comment, I ask that you think and not post anything detrimental that may upset other forum members. Those that know me know how hard it is not to spew my personal beliefs at this time. john

  35. I think you should stop posting negative condescending remarks, but who will stop you ?? Its odd that you took the time in the NY thread to explain how old you are and all you have seen, and yet all you post are childish remarks in an attempt to belittle others views Posted 25 October 2014 - 10:59 AM "I might be the oldest person on this forum,,,But I have seen a lot of horror diseases in my time,,, As a child small pox was the scare,,, POLIO struck in our neighborhood,,,,a friend of mine I played with, now was in a lung machine,, We just played soft ball the week before,,, He was paralyzed from the neck down,,that machine was his only life support...He eventually died... another friend of mine, She developed an allergy,,,we were teens,, She died within two weeks, Would you believe I still think of her ?... Violence and WAR took more of my friends... EBOLA is not a oops disease,, neither was the past diseases,,,,,Drive by shootings just killed a little girl last week,,,,, That's why I moved from St.Louis,,, That accoured on my block,,,AN oops civic problem ?? IT SEEMS WE HAVE BECOME HARD,NT TO OTHER TYPES OF DEATH,,, and are jumping scared,,putting blame on our first line of defence,,,The hospitals, doctors and nurses,,This new disease is as new to them as all the other deadly disease that have happened,,, "ITS GOING ON ALL THE TIME" We also have POLITICLE mindset disease,s that start wars..." I wont call you a liar, but you make it hard to believe someone with your supposed age and experience would continue to stoop to such behavior You have made it very clear you think Ebola is a non issue in the USA, everybody has seen your posts so consider yourself recognized, and feel free to stop posting in a thread you obviously only post in to antagonize others.

  36. My KSW-10 did the same thing once. Mine was fairly simple to fix. It was simply a blown fuse. The fuse is on the back near the bottom. It's a "standard" sized glass fuse, BUT it's a 0.63A 250V slow-blow fuse . I wasn't able to find the exact fuse I needed, but I did find a 0.60A 250V fuse and it's worked fine ever since. Good Luck, John

  38. I'm glad to hear that you like the 7500. I have loved my 7400 since the day I brought it home. What kind of remote came w/ the 7500? Is it the same as the one w/ the 7400 or is it improved? (I'm not quite sure how much better they could make it.) John

  39. 5 RB-25s (MSRP $1,000) Denon 1905 (MSRP $499) Sub ($500) I don't know the prices of the RW subs, so I don't know what you can get for $500. I DO know you can get a 25-31PCi for $575 shipped, but I also saw you ruled out SVS. John

  41. I'd put the RB-15s on the back wall. I'm actually a fan of using bookshelves for all the surrounds, but couldn't in my case due to wife issues. The RSs will tend to blurr the sound too much to be used on the back wall, IMHO. John

  43. If you look at my system, you'll see that I own the RB/C/S-25s. If you choose the 35s or the 25s (I think you'll be happy w/ either), just keep them the same all around. I would recommend the RBs in as many places as you can put them. 5 RB-25s or RB-35s would sound great in a system. John

  45. ---------------- On 9/1/2004 10:30:10 PM boomer9911 wrote: The SR7400 is a niece piece of gear for the price, remote still sucks though. ---------------- Either you're thinking of a different remote or you and I have VERY different tastes in remotes. The remote w/ the 7400 is the most flexible remote I've used yet. The LCD screen is large which greatly enhances this remote for me. This remote had more built in functions for my JVC TV and DVD player than my JVC receiver remote did. It's EXTREMELY easy to program macros into and "teach" it new functions w/ REAL names on the screen. To each his own though. John
