Nothing like waiting until the last minute to leave! I hope everything stays put in Beaumont. Most of my family in Harris or Montgomery county, near where you are now. Hopefully all of you will be out of harm's way.

Watching the AccuWeather Channel right now. Looks like Beaumont's gonna get it. Again. Good luck to all of you Gulf coast folks.

    Del Taco

I used to go to TC on a regular basis for years until I broke a tooth on a stainless steel bolt that was in the pico de gallo (it probably fell from some kitchen equipment). I showed it and the broken tooth to the manager. He grabbed the bolt and refused to take any responsibility in the matter. I eventually had to take TC to small claims court for compensation for the dental bill. I stopped going there, and that was about 15 years ago. I probably would have anyway because Rosa's Cantina opened several locations in the area and the food is better (and no bolts so far).

Looks like a great excuse for a road trip to SA!
  6. Yes, but maybe someone will show up at the SWAG with a 1792, full proof even better.
  7. That is an interesting business development for Klipsch.

    Del Taco

For Mexican drive thru fast food, Taco Bueno is better than average, much better than Taco Bell IMO. Taco Bueno actually serves fresh salsa and pico de gallo. They used to have good breakfast burritos, but the one near me stopped breakfast (maybe all of them?). My college age sons would rather eat there than almost anywhere. I have to admit that their chicken quesadillas are made fresh to order and are pretty good quality.
  9. I thought the same thing when I saw the pictures. Great looking speakers either way.
  10. It applies something like 15mV DC to the capacitor so it will not affect ICs and other sensitive components in a circuit board. Not particularly a concern for crossover networks, but great for trouble shooting failed circuit boards.
  11. It is the Signstek MESR-100 V2. They are around $70 on Amazon now. It uses 100kHz to measure ESR. It may be on the low end of the electronic measurement equipment spectrum, but I have used it successfully to sort through caps to identify the obviously failing or defective ones that went to the trash. It also seems to discern slight differences within a lot of identical "good" caps, and it will do in-circuit testing for capacitance and ESR. https://www.amazon.com/Signstek-MESR-100-Ranging-Circuit-Capacitor/dp/B00GYSFOM6
  12. I don't know about the RX-950, but I bought a Yamaha R-8 in 1985 to power my Klipsch KG4s (I think the very top of the line was the R-9). I paid $600 for that receiver. It had a 5 year warranty. I still have it and it works and sounds as good as it did when new. The Yamaha receivers from that era were very good quality.
  13. Of course it will be completely academic since you are getting the Audyn caps, but it would be really interesting to compare the ESR on your stock caps with the Dayton caps. If you want to bring them to the SWAG, I'll bring my ESR meter.
  14. Truly disgusting. My family and I stayed at the Hampton Times Square Central this past March. Five nights there.
  15. I'm not a Bose fan for home audio, but my Infiniti QX56 has a Bose system that is very good. Maybe not quite as good as the Mark Levinson system in my wife's Lexus GX 460, but still very good.
  16. Not an electronics workbench and pretty cluttered today, but that's the way it is when working on a project.
  17. Wow, I started HS in 1974 and no one I knew had any kind of audio system even close to that, not even in college. That is serious audio gear for anyone, much less a 20 year old.
  18. Their washboard player has nothing on this guy:
  19. Best line from Brimley's character in Cocoon : "Blue steel. Cat couldn't scratch it." RIP Wilford Brimely.
  20. Last summer the cap failed on my A/C compressor. It was the origial GE cap from when the unit was installed in 1986. When I was buying a new Dayton cap at Grainger, I mentioned to an employee how long the original cap lasted. She said, "I can guarantee this new capacitor won't last that long". I bought two more to have on the shelf.

I'm not sure I would ever move there, but Canada is a great place to visit. My wife and I last year at Whistler.
