  1. I've never really heard the term Klipsch Heritage and Collectable in the same sentence... we don't partake in this passion because of rarity, we do this because of performance and allegiance. I would imagine there are collectable klipsch speakers, as a matter of fact I am sure there are... but the vast majority are just production units that deliver superb performance at GREAT PRICING decades after inception. sometimes these old fellows need a little refreshing to achieve past greatness... sometimes they can be made to out perform there original specifications with the benefit of time and modern technology.
  2. that is interesting... probably not to bad fr shop speakers.
  3. lol... 40 inches of bass... the original posting doesn't sound like speaker issues, it sounds more like an operator error.
  4. I'd listen for clarity in all ranges... that klipsch high frequency sparkle... any granularity that is creeping in... anything that sounds like drivers that sound like they are complaining... imaging... and perhaps timing issues.
  5. Thats about what I sold my pair for here locally... needless to say you got a good deal. The kid I sold mine to was VERY HAPPY... and the speakers barely fit in his car.
  6. Lovely... perfectly modified. GL
  7. that's one patient owner... I'd already be blowing the neighbors away and it's only 9:00am on a saturday. 2.1... so you already have a sub?
  8. I just wanted to know why they were all black and crinkly... no malice implied. I apologize OP.
  9. I see what you are saying... instead of an exact figure, perhaps it's a range?
  10. those are in great condition... congratulations. welcome to the fold. dont worry to much about missing the Klipschorns, the las scalas are well worth the price of admission and if you dont have a corner to stick the speaker in, they are a better choice IMHO. best bang for buck is cap swap, best sound for your buck is a newly designed XO.
  11. isn't it listener and room dependent where something begins and where it ends?
  12. I think it's a great idea to build a folded design of your choosing out of mulitple layers of card board laid up about 1/2-1" thick... that is a great project.
  13. I'm still trying to see the jewel in OP's pictures.
  14. my first pair of Cornwalls had Formica on the outside... that didn't keep me from loving them. Forget the looks, embrace the sound. congrates OP.
  15. So this isnt a craigslist engine? Because, as we all know, searchtempest has been around FOR YEARS...
  16. Five F1 engines or seven... what's the difference.
  17. what we have to ask is, is 130dbs at 25Hz enough to bring down a house if left on for say an hour or two.
  18. I kind of wonder why the KLF-20 and KLF-30's are not thought of as highly as Heritage (lack of respect ). My thoughts is they are just as much Heritage as Heritage. - Better mid horns than the exponential horns but same drivers - Same tweeters - 2 10" drivers in the 20's that can pretty much keep up with a Cornwall and blow away a Heresy - 12" drivers in the 30's are used in the Jubilees that can almost keep up with a Khorn. Sounds like Heritage or maybe Super Heritage to me other than their more slender bodies. I think Klipsch should bring though they would seriously impact the sales of their other lines and cost more to manufacture then simple 2 ways. I've never listened to the klf-10s so can't speak there. I could not disagree more... the KLF is a fine speaker, fine... But it's not a Heritage. I've owned my share of both... if I wanted to rock, I might take a KLF however if I wanted refinement with realistic spacial qualities, I am taking the cornwall every time. that's my personal choice, yours is probably different.
