I have a question... Why do we need to use such expensive caps in a crossover ? The signal level is pretty high, lots of amps and volts. While in the signal path before all this the manufacturer uses ordinary products.If the less expensive caps work with low level signals why would the smae price level work at the outputs ? [pi]

Could you elaborate ( or have the owner chime in ) on the EV drivers and passives please. Which EV drivers ? Was the passive modified from Roy's original design ... if so how ? We could speculate all day but it would be great to hear it from the "horse's mouth" They are impresive ... One more question.... what was the approximate room size and any room treatments ?

Here's one.... For Jubilee's how close is too close as far as distance between and form a listening position ? Say for 12' away how far apart should they be..... For a sarting position I know "whatever sounds good to you"

Please note that a pair of TAD 4002s have a listed retail of $4K+ . A good street price would be in the mid $3K. A used price would be in the mid $2K. Before buying used ones, please remember that a pair of diaphragms would cost over $1500. Who has them new ? the ones on ebay are listed as new.... for less than 3K. Any thoughts on the Beyma 800/Ti or 850/ND ?

Would this driver work with the jubilee's in place of the k-69 ? What mods if any ?

Any crossover recommendations? I plan to give them a couple months but not much longer than that. These have AB-2s. I think they're '98s but I was told they should have AB-3s. The first two numbers in the serial # are 98 and the seller said he bought them in '99. Try Al's horns and Beyma tweeters... best money I ever spent...

I had it at about half volume once and an hour later, had some dudes from Oak Ridge National Labs, dressed in black breaking into my door... they were saying something about protecting national security and siesmic waves.... Once people have had their hearing damaged, their ears are not going to get better. It would be as silly to trust someone's audio judgment who had damaged ears as it would be to trust a blind man's opinion of a painting.
