  1. Yes, there are no tweeters in the top hats you can see daylight through the grill. The networks have also been altered there is an extra blue capacitor and a button or switch siliconed on top of one of the coils.
  2. That is not alot of buttons, this is alot of buttons. 🙂
  3. Cannibalizing those beautiful vintage Klipsch speakers is just wrong. Should have offered them intact here so that they could be preserved. I hate speaker cannibals that are just looking to make an extra buck. You should be ashamed even coming to this forum. I hope no one here buys your stripped out parts. 👎
  4. 1980's should have the desireable K-55V's with the solder terminal dual phase plugs.
  5. A pair of Velodyne Servo 15's or 18's as they are clean, smooth and deliver undistorted bass into the teens with "0" boom.
  6. Those are birch raw finish not really a veneer. Great job getting all that crap off they look far better.
  7. They were never offered in Walnut in that time period. Maybe birch stained walnut.
  8. Not upgrades, more like updates some people don't know the difference.
  9. Seems a bit high what was MSRP new? Nice shape with the exception of the one dinger.
  10. That is taking up alot of cabinet volume and will impact performance.
  11. It is also important if the rating is at 1Khz or 20Hz-20Khz with the latter being far better.
  12. Because you need the proprietary wireless controller to make it work properly.
  13. EGads Ti diaphrams ugggh harsh and shrill metallized sounding. Stick with poly or silk. Remind me of my car audio days and people that used MB Quart components with metal diaphrams.
  14. 1983, Oak Oil would be listed on the label as H-OO, Oak Lacquer H-OL. The grills are cane, not bamboo.
  15. Go to his webpage and check it out for yourself. www.voltiaudio.com
  16. The cost of all the parts that go into those alone will kill your wallet. Way too many. You would be far better off with an AA network with all top of the line premium parts in it.
  17. Looks like blonde cabinets as well, not that common.
  18. If you mean is the other half of the AK-2 network mounted inside the woofer door then yes. The capacitor values are different from the AK-3 though. The AK-2 uses two Aerovox 70uf capacitors while the AK-3 uses two 50uf capacitors. The coil values remain the same.
  19. Those are incomplete, the other half of them is mounted inside the woofer door you may want to mention that. There is no woofer circuit as they sit.
  20. It does not take much to convert the AK-2 into an AK-3, I did it. You have to replace the two 70uf caps in the woofer circuit with two 50uf's. Change the autoformer from a T5A to a T4A and change the coil I believe to a 5mh but it has been a number or years. I updated all the caps in the network as well while I was at it.
  21. If there is nothing wrong with them and you aren't having any issues leave them alone.
