didn't you say that BMW was NOT the ultimate driving machine anymore? I thought that meant you had problems on the trip. We used to have a BMW, now we do not. No problems whatsoever on the trip. Yes you have an impedance mismatch, this is normal for line level audio signals. Sounds like you are mixing balanced and unbalanced equipment. How is it wired? There are some on this forum that have had no problem mixing the two, others are not so fortunate.

I saw that, thank you Scott. If I'm going to spend $200 for new woofers I'm going to pick up some Eminence Delta pro 12A's as i will be running a sub and dont really need the bass. The Delta's will excel in midrange detail and is a far better replacement for my needs. Maybe something for you to consider as well but not sure it would work as a direct replacement in your KLF-30's. Jason, Erich at DIYSoundGroup has had Eminence come up custom 12" driver for midbass. lol why? any big pro amp has fans. I just dont get why a fan would matter. A separate amp can be remoted to a utility room or equipment closet. I just don't like fan noise or any other noise for that matter. When there is no signal there should be silence. Hey its just me OK.

If worried about noise just short your unused inputs to ground. If worried about dirt, I like minermarks rubber caps. If shorting an unused input to ground causes this your amp/preamp/receiver is not stable and you have larger fish to fry.

Is the pulsing the sound of your own heartbeat? I am just curious because sometimes that happens to me when I put my head down on the pillow at bedtime. Most times I just try to ignore it or turn my head over to the other side(ear). Never really been able to figure out what causes it. Don't think its my age cuz its been happening for like 30 years.
