  1. 22c at 8pm...beautiful day today, and tonight. Sent from my SM-T830 using Tapatalk
  2. I here ya Dave. It has def gotten considerably better since the 90s. If you want to use it as a media player it is def the way to go. If you want to use Photoshop...you have to use VM and then get a faster processor...or use Gimp. I am tired of MS, and I am using every option I can to avoid them as much as possible. My HA Software currently is only using win 7 or newer software, but he is talking of writing it for Linux now too. Once he does I will be gone on every front with MS. I have used JRiver for audio for years, but it would always crash after a week or 2 with Windows, so when I saw it worked with Linux... I gave it a shot, and I could not be happier. Now you do have to buy the linux version of JRiver, but if you already have the Mac or Windows version you can pay a small fee to upgrade to the master version of JRiver. I think I paid $29 to upgrade to version 26 from version 24, and also got the master version. As of right now I am very happy with the Linux version, and I have had zero crashes or problems with JRiver. I had always read how everyone lived JRiver, and now that mi e is working so nicely... I know why. BTW they even have room tune and crossover built in. Sent from my SM-T830 using Tapatalk
  3. Sure, but when you compare computers Linux is way more common than windows. Linux runs on appliances, servers, cars, and almost everything you use daily, and does not sell your info either. Read the Eula and you will see that Microsoft is leasing Windows to you and retains the rights to anything that is on your PC. Here are the stats on all the other uses besides desktops. https://www.makeuseof.com/tag/linux-market-share/ If you want a media server there is no way Windows is as good as Linux is for home use. You do not need a fast computer, OS is free, and runs rock stable. Microsoft is now telling everyone they have to leave earlier versions because they want everyone on Windows 10...what they do not want to accept is that the windows 7 users want nothing to do with windows 10, and its info stealing software. If you are ok with them taking your info and selling it, that it's you decision.. I am not, and will not return after running Windows since the first version of Windows. 4. I will take Linux anyday of the week over Windows. Windows is the worst OS ever IMO. So glad I went back to Linux. Sent from my SM-T830 using Tapatalk
  5. Yup, no bloated OS with Linux. Also if you have not tried Linux lately... it is a very smooth install, and pretty easy to install media players, free, and rock solid too Sent from my SM-T830 using Tapatalk
  6. Well the RP600M replaced the RP160M. I know that the RP600M no longer has the 5 degree upward angle, but other than that I do not know what was changed. I would like to know too. Sent from my SM-T830 using Tapatalk
  7. I am currently running JRiver on my win 7 i5 NUC, and also on my Linux Manjaro celeron, and I love it. For some reason I am finding that its appears to sound better on the linux version. I also run Kodi on the Linux celeron. All of my music, and movies are streamed from my UnRaid NAS too. Sent from my SM-T830 using Tapatalk
  8. I agrre... they were an absolute bargain as a B stock price! I am currently running a pair for my fronts, and another pair for my surrounds (absolutely shocked at the sound these throw out) until I get my k402 MEHs completed at which time they will become surrounds, and rear surrounds. I am also thinking of bypassing the internal crossovers with a Xilica 4080. Sent from my SM-T830 using Tapatalk
  9. That makes sense... I had thought they both had the angled base, and I found 24" isdefa bit to high when the map is over 12' away. Sent from my SM-T830 using Tapatalk
  10. How do the MEHs compare? Sent from my SM-T830 using Tapatalk
  11. What he did is treat first reflection points for the front channels on the walls, and the ceiling. He also put some above the ceiling, but that was for insulation purposes. Sent from my SM-T830 using Tapatalk
  12. Don't the rp600ms have a 5 degree upward angle like the rp160ms? I purchased some 24" stands, and from 12' I think they are too high...maybe if the 5 degree bases were removed it would be better at 24"? Sent from my SM-T830 using Tapatalk
  13. I have a friend who is running a 5.1.2 setup with La Scalas for the front channels in a 10x12 outdoor shed. The shed has been fully treated though. It sounds great! Sent from my SM-T830 using Tapatalk
  14. That reminds me of the time (in the early 80s)I was flying down the Interstate in a rental car in Florida, and thought I saw a police car coming up behind me real fast. I pulled the ebrake a slight bit to slow down without brakelights...rears locked up, and I went sideways across the interstate at over 80. A van veered to the slow lane and just missed the front end of the rental car as I was moving sideways to the side of the road at speed. No harm, but man was that a ride! I flat spotted both rear tires. I changed 1 tire and then when I got to my parents I called the Rental Company and told them the rear brakes locked up, and the rear tires were flat spotted. I had used the e brake many times before to slow down in all of my cars, and that was the first time it just flat locked up the rear. The car only had around 1k on it too. Mechanic def messed up as there is no way in an emergency they would have helped at all. Sent from my SM-T830 using Tapatalk
  15. It is a $300 Yamaha...no discount or some are maybe $20 off. Gone are the days of 40% off major brands, and 20%off Klipsch heresy, and other non discounted brands at the Military Bases. [emoji853] Sent from my SM-T830 using Tapatalk
  16. I have about a 100 SACDs that are hi rez stereo or 5.1...love the sound on them! Sent from my SM-T830 using Tapatalk
  17. I am listing to 2 channel sources in 5.1.4 on my cxa5100, and it sounds pretty good. Sent from my SM-T830 using Tapatalk
  18. We used to be able to buy Klipsch Jersey speakers at the Audio Club when I was in the USAF in the UK... I just checked and those days are long gone. No more Klipsch, Revox, Nakamichi, Technics, Crown or any other hi end brands anymore. The most expensive audio product is a $300 AVR. Sent from my SM-T830 using Tapatalk

I had the same result when I was trying to sell my single driver brand new. [emoji853] Sent from my SM-T830 using Tapatalk
  21. I used to have a Yamaha c4 and m4 with my La Scalas and it sounded great to me. Sent from my SM-T830 using Tapatalk
  22. I only take 2, plus multi vitamin.. Sent from my SM-T830 using Tapatalk
  23. I love it! I would love to do it to my k402s... any info would be appreciated as to how you did it. Where did you get the wrap,? What was the cabinet made of, and what was the cabinet thickness? How hard was it to get the straight cut seams like you did? I watched a YouTube video a while back where they were doing carbon fiber dips, and the results were awesome. I would love to have that done, but no one does that in Mexico as far as I know. 24. This is great! I have been wondering about replacing my crossovers in my RP160Ms with a digital crossovers...just did not know what settings to use. I also would like to upgrade the crossovers in my Rp150Ms too. Sent from my SM-T550 using Tapatalk
  25. We originally bought a LG 65", but it went green screen after the first 2 months...so we bought a Samsung. The Samsung picture never looked as good as the LG, and we had problems with the apps on it. I called tech support, and they would have me do factory resets. They did this until the warranty expired. The 4k Samsung is 3 years old now, and the only way to use it is as a monitor. It will not communicate with my Yamaha CXA5100 either. I am fed up with it, and wish I would have bought another LG or a different brand when it failed. BTW the Samsung picture looked better at Costco than the LG, but at home it wad the complete opposite. Sent from my SM-T550 using Tapatalk
