I always enjoy seeing pictures that helps one to understand the beautiful design of the trihedral folded horn.

Why should I have a separate 2 channel amp?
Khornukopia replied to gigantic's topic in 2-Channel Home Audio
Most upper end AVR's have good sound quality. Many bottom end AVR's may not. Most separate components have good sound quality. There are some cheap separates that don't, but I will not lump all separates together as a category, because that would not be fair. I like my high end AVR's, mainly for the features, but they sound really good too. -

Yes, you are right about the line out jacks on a receiver having a fixed output. -
When I was a kid and asked a movie theater usher where all the sound came from, he showed me behind the screen, shining a flashlight on some Voice of the Theater speakers. I was immediately infatuated with the big horns. I did not have room for such large speakers and got by with some average boxes, but years later I crossed paths with a pair of La Scalas and was intrigued by the clever design of the folded horn woofer and just had to buy some and have been a Klipsch fan ever since.

BTW, I also enjoy reading about the tube amps.
-
So you are saying tube amp DIY is okay on the Klipsch forum, but personalizing our Klipsch speaker system is NOT okay?
-
Do you think the Klipsch SPEAKER forum should delete the Talkin' Tubes section?
-
That is correct.

There are so many choices of high quality audio available, that sometimes it is a matter of certain features, or input and output connections, and/or the look of certain stereo equipment that we found attractive during our formative years. It is also good to learn the thoughts of people who have owned various gear and share their opinions, especially about different combinations that work good together. -
That drama was on a thread about some overpriced wires and oversized opinions. Today's comments are about a thread that had pictures and descriptions of one Klipsch speaker that was modified to fit one application. The owner/thread poster most probably would have bought a brand new Klipsch, if one had been available to fit his specific needs which were dictated by the size of his room and his large pair of brand new Klipsch Jubilee. This forum is Klipsch's domain, to promote Klipsch products, and so, we should just go with the flow and adapt.

It might have moved over to the "Overpriced wires and passive aggressive opinions forum".

Updating metal to composite horn in Lascala

The new tweeters and crossover networks make a difference. -

I have also listened to both the metal K-400 and composite K-401 in the same room at the same time and could not hear any difference. Maybe you just need for @deang or yourself to refresh your crossover networks. Another thing to consider is that acoustic wall panels will often improve the sound of a listening room. -

Looking good. It will be worth the effort. -
Deano is an approved Klipsch network builder

This is a high quality avenue for the many people who want to preserve the integrity of the original speaker and make it as good as new. -
I don't understand why anyone objects. He is not telling anyone else what to do with their speakers. I think the glass tops are a good idea if one desires, as have many other people who did the same on other La Scalas and Cornwalls.

I have been using the Class D, Pioneer Elite AVR in the first post of this thread over 4 years now, and am still very happy with the sound and performance.

Just looking at the advertisement. I have not seen, nor heard it in person.

570lb/258Kg with a massive, machined aluminum chassis, and then they attach a flimsy plastic box to the back panel. That is my only complaint so far. It does look good from the front.

Bi-Amped K-Horn + K-402 horns w/ KPT-415 woofers
Khornukopia replied to Khornukopia's topic in 2-Channel Home Audio
When I am away from home, I often read about and daydream of different amplifiers and other gear. When I get home, listen to my audio and appreciate how good my speakers sound, I am reminded that the room acoustic treatment is very beneficial to the overall sound quality, and has actually saved me a lot of money because I don't need to perpetually buy new equipment in an attempt to fix the sound of the room. -
