  1. Do you think the Klipsch SPEAKER forum should delete the Talkin' Tubes section?
  2. Thanks for the links. Always good to learn more about the most impressive loudspeakers.
  3. There are so many choices of high quality audio available, that sometimes it is a matter of certain features, or input and output connections, and/or the look of certain stereo equipment that we found attractive during our formative years. It is also good to learn the thoughts of people who have owned various gear and share their opinions, especially about different combinations that work good together.
  4. That drama was on a thread about some overpriced wires and oversized opinions. Today's comments are about a thread that had pictures and descriptions of one Klipsch speaker that was modified to fit one application. The owner/thread poster most probably would have bought a brand new Klipsch, if one had been available to fit his specific needs which were dictated by the size of his room and his large pair of brand new Klipsch Jubilee. This forum is Klipsch's domain, to promote Klipsch products, and so, we should just go with the flow and adapt.
  5. It might have moved over to the "Overpriced wires and passive aggressive opinions forum".
  6. The new tweeters and crossover networks make a difference.
  7. Your speaker label indicates an oil finish. Try some dabs of tinted oils on the oak veneer near the crossovers until you find a shade you like, then wipe and rub the speakers. Oiling the veneer will probably also make most of the scratches less visible.
  8. I have also listened to both the metal K-400 and composite K-401 in the same room at the same time and could not hear any difference. Maybe you just need for @deang or yourself to refresh your crossover networks. Another thing to consider is that acoustic wall panels will often improve the sound of a listening room.
  9. This is a high quality avenue for the many people who want to preserve the integrity of the original speaker and make it as good as new.
  10. I don't understand why anyone objects. He is not telling anyone else what to do with their speakers. I think the glass tops are a good idea if one desires, as have many other people who did the same on other La Scalas and Cornwalls.
  11. I have been using the Class D, Pioneer Elite AVR in the first post of this thread over 4 years now, and am still very happy with the sound and performance.
  12. Just looking at the advertisement. I have not seen, nor heard it in person.
  13. 570lb/258Kg with a massive, machined aluminum chassis, and then they attach a flimsy plastic box to the back panel. That is my only complaint so far. It does look good from the front.
  14. When I am away from home, I often read about and daydream of different amplifiers and other gear. When I get home, listen to my audio and appreciate how good my speakers sound, I am reminded that the room acoustic treatment is very beneficial to the overall sound quality, and has actually saved me a lot of money because I don't need to perpetually buy new equipment in an attempt to fix the sound of the room.
  15. The ideal is to find your favorite vacation place, and live there!
  16. I understood what you were saying the first time I saw your earlier post, and did not perceive it to be negative or offensive. In my mind, I read the word cobble as meaning composed and arranged. 😊
  17. @formanjasked me about the door slabs I use for my 36" deep free-standing K-horn corners. PWK recommended 48" deep corners. Many factors about the environment will affect the requirements, such as proximity to walls, etc. My K-horns are not my primary speakers and so, are oddly placed along the middle of the side walls of the room, but they sound better than most other speakers I have heard over the years. Because they are not near any real corners, I added "wings" to guide the powerful bass response towards the listening area. The bass is better now than when they were in the real corners of the room.
  18. Sat on the 5th row center at a concert recently. It sounded excellent.
  19. You have a complete system. Good enough, unless you just want to buy another amplifier because shopping for audio gear is so much fun. 😊
  20. Please let us know your thoughts on that, after it is set up.
