Do you remember your first 8 Track tape?
MORE KLIPSCH PLEASE replied to ssh's topic in 2-Channel Home Audio
No I don't. But I do remember this 8-track tape that was not a tape, it was a stash for your weed. Got it at a record shop that sold weed paraphernalia back in the late 70's. I used to much of the contents of that tape that's why I can't remember my 1st 8-track lol lol :-) -

I sold my Cornwall II's a few years ago. The Cornwalls have GREAT sound to them, I had them for many years. The Chorus will take a lot more power and bass will hit harder. This is just a guess but for movies I think the Cornwalls might take it? Now I don't listen to music at 300+ watts all the time and when I had the Cornwalls I used them for lower levels, maybe 5 to 50 watts. I did drive them a few times 200 + watts, and yes great sound. You know talking about Cornwalls my eyes are watering up :-( I miss em. But they did go to a good home, I sold them to my old shop helper. When my shop helper was 18 or so he started to talk about audio. He would talk about Radio Shack-lol lol or he went to Best Buy and listend to a killer sys(Bose) lol. It was time to set him straight!! I told him I had speakers from 1985 that would kill all that he has listend to. This was before I had the Chorus line, the speakers he listend to was my LaScala's with one of my Adcom 555II's. His jaw hit the floor when he first saw them. When I played them for him the look in his eyes told it all. All that was 11/12 years ago. Over the years I have sent him on Klipsch buying missions, I would find a set on Craigs List. I would talk to the seller, make a deal over the phone (most Klipsch people are good people and want there speakers to go to a good home) then send him to get my new Kipsch:-) Sancho Panza is right on with the list price, but when the Chorus II's hit the market Klipsch dealers wanted those Chorus I's gone! -

I call my Chorus II's chest pounders!! My first experience with Klipsch was a set of Chorus driven with a Carver cube amp, it was unreal. I could not believe the sound coming out of those speakers with that little cube amp. Then a friend of mine got a set of Chorus II's with a Carver TFM 55 amp. That was it for me, that's what I would own one day! He had his set-up at my house one day and hooked both my Adcom 555II's to his Chorus and that Carver had harder hitting bass than both my Adcoms. All that was over 20+ years ago. So today I have Chorus I's Chorus II's and many Carver amps (still got my Adcoms). Now being Klipsch owners we all know that just a few watts will get our stuff jumping, but man I am here to tell ya when my Carver's start putting the watts in those Chorus it is house shaking and when I say watts those Carver needles are jumping past 380 !! oh yea :-) -
Are you running an SW 15? I really like the SW 8 II hooked up to my morning mini system. I have my eye on that one the most, the 15. Thanks... Yes I have the sw15II that I use most of the time, also got the sw12II that has a sw15II amp in it. Also got one of those Synergy 12 subs, found that on Craigs list for $200 bucks a few years back. It was almost new the guy didn't like it. Last I have a Dayton Audio titanic 15. Anyway there are a lot of used subs out there for that $200-$300 range. But yes I use the sw15II the most. Good luck Mark :-)

1967 FJ45 Toyota Landcruiser pick-up truck. $950 for the truck and $100 bucks to tow it. Still needs resto, but been offered 5 K as it sits. So $1050 close enough?

got your attention Yes you did. lol lol, that sw 15 is also kind of big. Mine does good with my LaScala's What kind of $$$ are you looking to drop?

Hats off to you Kent T. The only person I know that is in a wheel chair is a guy that is in my Krav Maga school. Krav Maga is a Israeli self-defence fighting system, it is tough training and this guy (Will) takes his training serious! So hats off to him...The only physical limitations I have is part of my left hand got ripped off. I am missing my index finger and my thumb, middle, and ring fingers are fused. That happend 25+ years ago, they told me that I would not be a mechanic any more. Well that just pissed me off. I am still a mechanic and I own my shop!! If 25 years ago I got my ears ripped off I probably would not own any Klipsch and would not be in this forum and that would suck..lol lol.... Again hats off to you Kent :-)

My Fedex guy delivered my new (very nice looking) broken Carver TFM-55 amp today. It will be going to my amp guy tomorrow to be fixed, cuz it will powering another set of Klipsch that I don't own yet.. lol lol

Passing down a legacy to our young ones
MORE KLIPSCH PLEASE replied to Scrappydue's topic in Home Theater
Great topic Scrappydue and great pics to all. My wife and I have kids and grandkids living with us. I set both my daughters up with small systems in there room. Not worth posting pics just some old gear I had. They don't appreciate fine audio :-) Now when mom & dad start to turn on the Carvers and powering up the subs, all kids will vacate the premises because there is not a place in the house that the Klipsch can't be felt .... lol lol.... Now if you look at my profile pic that is my youngest daughter Emma some 17+ years ago. We would find her sitting in the LaScala's when we would play music, we couldn't keep her out of them. She is 20 now and wants no part of dads "wall-o-speakers" That's what the kids call it. Take care all :-) -

I have a few Subaru's that sneek into my Honda shop. They are well built and I like to work on them. The WRX is a bad a$$ car. I saw a sticker on the back of a WRX one day, it said " wake me up when your V-tec kicks in" lol lol. Enjoy your new ride Mark.....

$25 Flea Market Heresy II's...

NICE !!! -
OK, I thought this might be fun. Tell about the best deal/price you payed for Klipsch speakers. Mine goes like this. About 7 years ago I came across a pair of Chorus on e-bay, they were pick-up only in Washington DC. That's about 45 min drive for me. So I placed a bid and forgot about it, till my wife told me that I won the auction for the speakers. I said "what speakers". Looking at the listing the spark in my brain ignited! "Oh" I remember now..... So I sat down and started to look at the pics of my new purchase the grills were on and showed no pics of the drivers, the corners were chipped-up quite a bit. They just did not look good!! Well my winning bid was-----$27.48....... That's right.....Twenty Seven dollars and Forty Eight cents.....Well first I was excited but then I got to thinking about the 45 min HELL drive to DC to pick-up these not so nice looking Chorus, I was also thinking they were gutted with no drivers or x-overs in them. So I called the auction house to pay for them and to tell them to just toss them or re-list them. Well the guy told me that all drivers were in the cabs and thses were returned cuz of shipping damage and the speakers worked when they were originally sold. Well after work that night me and the wife off to DC we go. Got to the auction house paid my $27.48 and back home we went.... Yes all drivers and horns in the cabs, they looked better than in the pics! I could hardly wait to get back to the house to hook these things up. Back at the house I got them up stairs and hooked them with a Adcom 555, started to push them a bit and noticed one of the woofers was blown. Not a big deal for any normal multi Klipsch speaker owner-cuz we all got spare drivers just hanging around... So with a quick swap out of the offending woofer I was jammin and some kind of happy . With that great sound coming out of those Chorus the cabs did't look that bad and the drive was also not to bad :-) It was an incredible deal ;-)
