  1. Thanks gentlemen! I am going to do some 0-60 tests one warmer day and one cold dry day.
  2. As time goes on some people seem to be becoming more touched. There is a really funny video on youtube named "Brothers convince little sister of zombie apocalypse" it is to funny..
  3. I was wondering if someone knew how much HP increases in cold dry weather. I was driving my wife's V8 audi mid sized sedan, that usually isn't very peppy, and I can always feel additional weight when driving it, like extra passengers, or the spare tire in the trunk. I drove it the other day and it was cold and dry and it feels like there is around 35 additional HPs. So if a car has around 350hps approximately how much would it increase if it was around 5 below zero and 10% humidity.
  4. I have no problem with this, I feel that it extends his legacy by paying tribute. Many, years from now when speakers are made of things and ways, we cant imagine, someone will look up Klipsch Heritage, and find out about the wonderful story of Paul Klipsch. As time passes the search will just be harder, but the originals will be listed somewhere.
  5. I have heard Khorns twice one highly moded pair that were excellent, and a stock pair. I don't think the stock pair was anywhere near the performance of jubs, the modded pair in the sweet spot was much closer. The one thing that really surprised me for a very large speaker the khorns sweet spot was very small. I could move my head 6"s and it would change the imaging. Also, if you went to the back of the room say 30' away a lot of the sound disappeared and the bass changed dramatically. These traits may be just the room or the set up?
  6. Wow from rf 82's to jubs, that's a leap! congrats you will be blown away!
  7. So sorry to hear this, prayers sent....
  8. I would look into a Yamaha Px3, they are trending down last I looked but used to sell for around 800 recently for around 400. They get great reviews and a small group on the web did a shootout with some pricey tables and it faired very well. They are a awesome budget tables and a pleasure to use.

    Remembering Boxx

BOXX was one of the all time greats!!! He is sorely missed. Hope his family is doing well!!!
  10. What does "tagging mean in this context? I post deals hoping someone else can put together a great system. I have 4 very nice 2 channel systems and almost feel guilty how little I paid. I bought 2 sets of cornwalls for 500 in total, gave one pair away that were almost mint, sold the other pair for 150 and donated the money. They came from a frat house and had some bad JuJu....
  11. Forte IIs for 350 the seller describes as mint? Minneapolis craigs. NA
  12. I haven't had an amp the worked well enough to use tone controls, every time I have tried I hear what I call "hash"
  13. Nice condition RF7's and what appears to be center channel for 525 Minneapolis craigs. NA.
  14. I think that you need to put the Jubilee on top in BLACK because the Darth Vader of Speakers, will destroy all.......
  15. HAPPY HOLIDAYS TO ALL!!!!!!
  16. Awesome story and deal CONGRATS!!!!! Cant wait to see them!!!!
  17. Jubilees are truly incredible, I have heard some pricey systems costing ten times my Jub set up, and there is something very special about them. Imagine just a wall of balanced sound that is very powerful, clear, clean, open, smooth and dynamic. I run a very inexpensive amps with mine, I use a Yamaha mx1000u a Panasonic saxr55 and use my cd player as a pre. Don't be afraid of the K69 it still sounds fantastic with many good recordings. The Tads are better but I could still live with the k69s if I didn't have Tads. The first day I set them up a friend was over, he sells very expensive watches and some of his clients have high dollar systems upwards of 200k. When the music came on within 30 seconds he said it was the clearest system he had ever heard. In fact when I was trying to do some tweeks using the same track over and over, he started to get mad, he just wanted to hear the music.
  18. This sounds like a very interesting piece, sadly my computer wont let me pull it up. Is it anywhere else on the web?
  19. I think the premise of this thread interesting, and some of the thoughts. I have been around some Altec studio monitors for years, they were the standard in many a recording studio for decades, and to this day some of the best studios in the world still use them for playback. LOOK at what Jean Hiraga, Serious stereo and many other designers have done with the lowly studio monitor, see their reviews. I know a fella, who has wired and set up studios for music execs, home systems, and countless big name artists for their home studios, per he, in the right designed space the Altec 604 of the right vintage is hard to beat .. Integration is so important and how you like to listen and your space....
  20. Running Tony Ham's baltic birch Jub clone bass bins, with k402s and tad drivers. Yamaha Mx 1000u on the bass and a Saxr 55 on the top, Yamaha px3 turntable which I love, Yamaha t85 tuner, an amazing tuner. Altec model 19s with copied xovers with much better parts. Altec 604 8gs, nos Altec 8 hs I have never hooked up, 4 sets of 604 xovers. With the Altecs I use a rebuilt Pilot sa 260 amp and a sp 210 pre. I have a bunch of amps but these are my favs. I have had about 25 pre, amp combos all just mid fi, over the last 7 years. Still have my first turntable a technics L tracking, and my first receiver!
