  6. you can sell the amp for what ever you want. 5000 on monday, 9000 on tuesday, not for sale anymore on wensday. if someone has a problem with your current price, they should have bought it when there was a price on the table they liked better. I cleaned house on some toys to help my son raise money for cancer bills....I have since re-accuried some of the toys. if I sell the toys later, I dont need to justify the situation that drives the price. the subject amp is out of production and will always be supported by mcintosh, be it 1 year, 5 years, or 50 years. I had two of those mc2000 amps, a c2000, two mc1000's and 1 mc275's at the same time at one point. each amp has a unique sound. the mc2000 always sounded like it has endless power. The only amps that ever sounded better....which I also oned, were a pair of mB1250's which are 24 tube per amp mono blocks that cost $24,000 a pair. and I think you can get original boxes if you want from mcintosh. its called a shipping kit. I ordered a set for some mc1000's and got them quickly.
  7. if you can get the amp to mcintosh for a "checkup", they will ship it back to you in OEM packing. a lot of new in the box deals are accutally factory serviced used equipment.
  8. Id prefer to deal with principals from this forum only and not start chasing Clist or Epray listings. So if "YOU" have a set to sell, please PM me. thank you
  9. need a pair of k-500 horns. pm me with price if you have a set

  11. looking for a pair of belle horns. pm me with price and shipping to 10305 if you have a pair for sale.
  12. if anyone has a set of belle mid horns they want to sell, pm me with price. I m not on the forum much so I wont get replies to this thread.
  13. this would be great to do the ported bass bin mod on current 1 piece lascala, flip them over, then put these on top.
  14. nice speakers...are they actually tagged LaScala Industrial's, they look like and have the build of TLSI's, which is the theater version of the LaScala's.
  15. I have some gear that I will be clearing out and realized I really did not have a decent amp to demo with...so I picked up one of my favorite tube amps. this one is dual mono block 100WPC / 100WPC. 8 el34 tubes. this is one of the amps music makers use to make music...so it stands to reason.
  16. most outlets are wired to the box as a home run (both red and black) , but only one (red) or the other (black) is used. You would have to find a home run outlet in the room you want to use the amps in, and have an electrician convert the home run (red or black) to 220. very simple to do.
  17. smallest room I put khorns in was 16X14, sounded terrible tried LaScala's and not much better then belle's, which sounded better, but still not the live sound I was looking for then Heresey's and felt like I was getting there but not quite finally tried cornwalls and I think for the 16X14 room, the cornwall was the right fit. I've heard the Khorn, Belle, LaScala in what I would call a large room 50X25 and they sounded great if you were wihin the sweet spot sitting area. I've heard LaScala's in 100X300 auditoriums and they sounded great. I dont think putting khorns in front corners, lascala or belle as center, cornwall or hersey as rear corners makes any sense in a 21x18 room. when I demo a pair of any of these full horn loaded speakers I try to place them 26ft apart and have the listener stand 26ft back....with 1 watt of power, they sound live and complete. in a 21X18 room, you going to need a subwoofer and your sweet spot will be about 6 square inches. I would use cornwalls in the corners, and herseys in the center and rears if I were you . my opinion of course.
  18. k-46 I found 6 of these last week in one of my out of state storage places. gave 4 to my brother. I have 2 left. I will post a pic this weekend in the garage sale section and if you want it let me know. these look like the cast k-43 but are 8 ohms and have the klipsch logo on the cone dome. I think the magnets are bigger and yes, they are vented. no rubber bumper's like the 45's k-47 found at least 2 of these, will also post a pic in gs. k-49 found 2 or 3 of these, will also post a pic in the gs section. k-42 have 2 of these as well, will also post a pic in the gs section. sorry for hi-jacking the thread.....trying to answer 2 people in 1 response. I'll do a new gs listing so we dont clog up the OP's WTB with unrelated
  19. I do not believe their is a "best" woofer for the LaScala or Belle. Both are mid range horns. You will undoubtedly need a sub woofer reguardless of the woofer you use. Klipsch marrys the lascala with the kp-480 and family of subwoofers. folks are adding ports, slots, cutting out the top of the bass bin to extend the dog house into the sealed crossover area, and god only know s what else to try to make these mid bass horns perform like horn loaded woofers.
  20. hmmm....belle's have not as deep but often refered to as faster bass. me personally thinks you could get away with 1/2 inch on all but the back panel.
  21. the square area from the tip of the prymid to the edge of the baffle slot is greater with the smaller "pyramid" . in an even prior version, the cut out was double in size. decreasing the size move the low end response curve so that one of the spl peaks was more in the middle of the 40 to 400hz range. the pyramid size change could be a further tweak of that.
  22. dont know the exact model number....it was a pioneer 21 something or another. it was an SS class A amp that put out 30 watts...you could fry eggs on the heat sinks....the amp looked like a tube amp and sounded like one. 4 caps the size of coke cans. I have owned 3 of them in my lifetime and always regret I dont have one now.
  23. phooey reread the first post and noticed this time these are made of MDF.....wife is allergic to mdf so unfortunately...now have to pass.
