  1. That they are. I looked high and low for a unit that would accommodate my RC62 and found VERY few options other than these two companies and I did see something from BDI. They are even more expensive here in Canada and getting one shipped all the way to the Northwest Territories was not even close to being doable. Ended up having a friend who happens to be a cabinet maker on the side make me a replica of one of the Standout Design models (Horizon) in pine. Still cost me 2k Canadian in the end, but it came totally finished - glass doors, hardware, stained and varnished good to go with no shipping charges on top of. It might not be as bad to copy a design down there as wood and other supplies are much less expensive. These companies may have something that could work, as your centre is wide (31.5 inches) but not that tall, only 6. It may fit in something designed for a large sound bar. Something like this might work (BDI) https://www.bdiusa.com/media-furniture/avion_2_8929.shtml#.WHADTH1r8fU
  2. They look fantastic and I'm sure they will be a big hit. One just need look at the demand for used Fortes to see how popular they are. Combine this with the fact they are a floor-stander but not too massive for modern tastes, and the fact that there is nothing else like them currently on the market...this may just be the sweet spot for sales.
  3. I am very glad to see that there will be more great Klipsch products built in your country. I go out of my way to purchase products made in Canada, the U.K. and the USA . All about quality, supporting your own and those close to you. In the new climate, the marketing folks should bang the made in USA gong loud and hard. This will do nothing but help the brand as well as the hard working folk who make this happen.
  4. Wow, what an impressive line up. Something for all the modern major market segments. The younger generation are going to eat up the powered and blue tooth speakers, classic full size system affeciendos are going to celebrate the return of the Forte. Kudos
  5. Yes I do. I allowed for a bit of extra height to allow for it. As you will have seen there is an adjustment feature on the bottom of the speaker. It doesn't require much of an angle to have the centre horn lined up with your ears at your sitting position. When you set it up, do so with the cover off. You'll be able to tell pretty much by eyeballing it from your chair or chesterfield.
  6. A shot of my modified replica nearing completion:
  7. I think you will be for for a long time. There is just something about the whole Reference II 6 series that just seems to work very well. Like others, I find the RB61 II great all the way around. The centre being as large and powerful as it is just shines. The only one out there that may best it would be the RC 64, but it is probably overkill for a lot of folks and still pretty pricey. In fact when I had my AV unit built (it was a slightly modified version of Standout Designs Horizon model), I had the centre channel shelf purposefully slightly enlarged to accommodate the speaker. This is a photo of the unit I had replicated.
  8. Indeed, they are a very large centre, one of the few around with 61/2 inch drivers! They punch far far above their weight and price-point and are neutral enough to work well with many different front mains. You will be happy with this for many years to come.
  9. Wow, this looks like it be fantastic. What sort of facility is this?
  10. The first two Cars albums would be fun to play along with. They tend to be pretty steady and the ability to maintain time would seem to be a big component while learning. There are a few pretty good You Tube videos of people doing just that. Fills bring the thrills but the groove pays the bills as they say.
  11. So I have read as well. This issue may be a combo, ear infection and set up issues.
  12. A friend back in the mid eighties had a pair of what were probably Fortes. I recall liking them and being impressed by the bass output which was noticeably more than the pair of EVs I had at the time. Did some work for a friend's elderly uncle or great uncle around 2000. He had a beautiful old century home that was being renovated and had a crazy looking pair of speakers in his living room that turned out to be KHorns. He played hours of great music through them and impressed me to no end. I'd never heard anything like them.
  13. My comment is totally unrelated to your ears...perhaps as well try running AVR straight up rather than in Direct mode. I found doing this with my Marantz gives things a warmer and fuller sound. The Direct with many materials seemed a bit thin to me - which was most likely the case, as different material was recorded in different eras and of differing quality. My first pair of RB61s benifeted from dropping the treble into slight negatives. The RB61 IIs which I added didn't seem to need this - they were crossed over a bit lower.
  14. Just looked up the XF-48 system, very impressive looking.
  15. Looks great. I had a chance to watch the Australian Symphony of Fire team at Ontario Place in Toronto about 12 years ago or so. They blew me away - best fireworks display I have ever seen.
  16. Crazy good deals. Anyone looking for a great centre would be wise to grab one. The RC62II is very neutral and dead accurate for dialogue. So much so it matches well with speakers outside its line. Plenty of presence...two six inch drivers. As some are aware, I've just recently swapped out my stand mounted RB61 IIs with Ohm Walsh Tall 2000 floor standers; I had concerns about a huge mismatch in sound with my RC62 and figured my 2017 purchase would be an Ohm centre. To my surprise (and relief), the Klipsch blends extremely well with them. Incredible when you think these two speakers couldn't be any more different. The proof they say is in the listening. I am in no hurry to replace it. I consider it the closest thing to a universal centre, they are that good.
  17. Ohm Walsh Tall 2000, RC62 II, RB61 II (rears), KW100 sub
  18. That smoked duck sounds amazing. Never had it but I am duck fan in general.
  19. Tonight was the third night of Hanukkah. Had some Morroccan beef short ribs done in the crock pot and a warm green been and beet with pistachio "salad". It paired nicely with a Kosher Chilean cab sav ( Don Alfonso ), we tried for the first time. I'll pick up some more of those next time I'm down south.
  20. I have been running four RB61 IIs with the RC62 II centre for a few years. A great set up and they are great for music as well as movies. Recently changed my front pair for a set of Ohm Walsh Tall 2000s. The displaced 61s aren't going anywhere...they will be the foundation for a two channel system in the den. You picked up some great speakers at a great price.
  21. I heard he had been in the hospital about a month ago.
  22. Merry Christmas to all. I'm Jewish and don't mind a Merry Christmas from folks- I understand the intent and appreciate it. I always use the term myself with all but those I know for sure are Jews. Enjoy your wonderful Holiday.
