  1. I’ve brought home speakers that dripped once. Hosed them down in the driveway. Sold them the next day. Probably the only pair of AR3’s I’ll ever own.
  2. My 75 AA had those type caps too rather than cans. Rare??
  3. I’ve had 2 Sony die. One was the x700. So 2 Sony surround receiver and 2 Blu-ray in 14 years. I will not buy another Sony anything. Currently using a basic Panasonic I grabbed off Amazon.
  4. I replaced that plate and cleaned those. Helped. Replace RCA cable ends. Helped. I think the cable got stressed/stretched. Or it could just be the cart. AT95e IIRC. I keep putting it back on the shelf.
  5. If I could just work out the hum. In the systems I’ve used it on it hums at idle. Leaning towards cable.
  6. Anyone have replacement remote suggestions? Other than a Harmony? Thank you!
  7. I hear what you’re saying, but signal coming out of a turntable has to be boosted. Either by a built in preamp you connect to a line in or the phono preamp in the receiver itself.
  8. Line level is different than phono. Phono has less “strength”.
  9. My wife would love one. Haven’t gotten to that yet.
  10. Trolls? Hmmm. I’ll suggest mounting it above the tv at an angle.
  11. Ohhh. Now I get it! I hadn’t ever taken one apart. Cost effective reliable solution.
  12. I think the barrier strip is the conductor. Screws just hold it together.
  13. I have a dedicated turntable for just such occasions!
  14. How long does the power need to last? A large enough battery pack could last a while.
  15. Double check connections, switch left and right, verify source. Did you buy the 51rm new??
  16. Let’s also mention that the kits are typically only the capacitors. So they are good for recapping equipment that “works”. If your equipment has any other issues they should be diagnosed and repaired before the recap or you may cause more harm.
  17. He’s legit. I’ve purchased a few kits from them.
  18. I’ll vouch for the ACA Mini and @Dneu2011 I built one and it is great with my LSI.
  19. I got mine with a second hand surround system. When I upgraded and sold the center and towers I am negative in the sub. In my space it’s been great. For music with LaScala I use an 18” Velodyne. 😉
  20. I’d keep the surround system as it is unless you want to upgrade your center as well. The Sonos will do them well in the game room.
  21. They don’t need much power to sound great, but I run mine with a Carver TFM-35. Condolences for your friend and congrats on the LSI!
  22. You’ll have to separate the crossover from the cup after desoldering to remove the broken post.
