I bought plastic "milk cartons" for less than six bucks each. SSH. -
Welcome, Stefan. Klipsch has some Reference speakers on sale now. What is your budget? SSH

Merry Christmas from Arkansas! I hope to see y 'all at the Pilgrimage. SSH

It's not the source; the Corn IIIs work fine. Al says that they are someone's copy of his original universals and he can't tell what's going on with them.
-
Jim, I listened to them a week ago, and they worked fine. I've had them for years but hadn't listened to them since the Cornwall IIIs replaced them last year. We moved them about 8 ft to listen. I guess we shook a wire loose, but it's strange that it happened to both.
-
Only the Corns, which worked full range.
-
Yup. Full range was present a week ago when I hooked them up one at a time. They were moved about 8 feet today, into a "listening position". If it were only one, I'd better suspect a jarred wire, but both?
-
Both at the same time? ALK crossovers are connected at the crossover strip.
-
One of the disadvantages of being old is the inability to compute the "new math". Dito my earlier post. SSH

I just tried to listen to a pr of LaS after listening to a pr of Cornwall IIIs. Nothing was changed except the speaker connection. No woofer sound, whatsoever, from either of the LaS. Suggestions? SSH
-
$700 is a bargain, even considering the probable necessity of recapping/ restoring the crossovers, if all of the drivers work. Install a pr of jimjimbo's AAs and it's still a bargain. I'm at a loss to even understand a price of $400. SSH

Jim's plate is a platter that regrows like the Hydra of Greek mythology. Santa's list is no longer than his, lol. Kudos to all involved in this project. SSH- 57 replies

Great job, Matt. I know that the family will be grateful to have this reminder of Scott's love of music. SSH

I love it! I should have done this years ago. I'm sorry you didn't get what you wanted out of it. SSH

Red Rose Speedway on the platter.

It would be worse if three of the best four teams were from the same conference. Most of the playoff teams would not be in if they had to play in the SEC. SSH

Georgia may be one of the two best. SSH

A friend and I traded motorcycles during an afternoon ride in the late 80s. He rode my BMW K75s and I rode his Suzuki 1100 that he had turbocharged. It was an eye-opening experience, exhilarating, frightening, and unforgettable. I was quite happy to ride the Beemer again. SSH

I wish I had the cash to buy another pair. These are stellar amps. Perfect for Klipsch speakers. SSH
