  1. When the wife found out he had all this shit, and had been hiding it from her for thirty years, she killed him. She really wasn't all that upset, until she found out he bought her the $400 earrings on the same day he spent $1200 for the Marantz 2300 receiver.
  2. Here it is... http://www.audiocircle.com/index.php?topic=143362.0
  3. We are running a silent auction with some killer cables and gear...
  4. Come on guys, Tim knew exactly what he had. He enjoys playing mind games with the masses, who rush to fleece the rube.
  5. These are one of the deserted island speakers that make life worth living. They are incredible speakers that need a superior amp to drive them. Watch out if you have both at the same time.

  7. Mustang guy, these are Cabinart cabs, not Klipsch flat kit Shorthorns. The four reasons we know this are 1) the Klipsch mortarboard does not have two woofer cutouts like the left speaker has 2) the Klipsch wings are screwed to the cab at top and bottom using L brackets, not wood wings 3) all three cabs have the wire terminals at the bottom, not the upper right back 4) none of them have the two Klipsch papers glued and stapled at the top right back face, which came even on the flat kits They are Rebel Shorthorns, but not Klipsch Shorthorns. Small semantic difference, but for the Klipsch collector, somewhat significant.
  8. When you search for a SET amp, you need to figure out what tubes can drive your CF3s to adequate levels in your room. I would say the 300Bs and 211 based would be the only amps in my stable that would be happy doing that, and they both start north of $2k used. The Opera Consonance 211s can do it well, but they are beasts.
  9. Craig, the 312 fetches more money and sounds marginal in my book. I doubt its cheaper brother will sound any better.
  10. I can't do that, but I have split hundreds of thousands of atoms.
  11. Grandpa ran a strippers club on the south side.
  12. I have owned an HK 430 since 1976. The 430, 630, 730, and 930 are so good I was forced to buy the other three to complete the gang of four. Buy this one, you will not regret it. They sound and work great, and are very well engineered.
  13. That is Paul. He was a no bullshit kinda guy, and didn't cotton to anyone else signing his name to anything, nor did he care for anyone ripping off his ideas without his express permission.
  14. Paul LOVED to sign anything his factory made, at any time, with a very kind heart. It doesn't change the value much, but it sure ensures there is quality behind the speakers and good sound in front of them, two of the more important things you want when you buy.
  15. The ref that threw the flag was standing behind and to the right of Rodgers, and threw the flag when he say Rodgers' helmet snap sideways. No facemask, but it is tough to pick up the flag when the ref didn't see the action from the front, and no one overruled him that had a better angle.

  17. Holey baloney, did you just say you were firing the 15" woofer into the wall?
  18. Mookie, I'm game for a try. Give me a ring, I'm in south county.
  19. Cornman, with everything all set to good, might I suggest you go back and add a little explanation blurb at the head of your first post, since it turns out it was something besides the F3 performance that was subtracting from your enjoyment? I have had such misunderstandings before as well, it's just important to show people we all make mistakes and don't need to assign blame before analysis.
  20. I'm disappointed that no one chose to respond to the Hostess bankruptcy situmatation, and the conflagramadation that their executive board and the board of directors went through before they declared bankruptcy. I would think at least a few people would be bambozzlemadized and atrixaphibidized that a situation like this would be analyzabortified, as it really happened. Guess real life isn't worth talking about, just positions.
  21. Here is an interesting situation, since I knew the plant in St. Louis well.
