  1. @KevinB...may have an opinion on the 1200 system. We shall see. Klipsch and Onkyo have collaboration on a new model you may be interested in. Here read this, meanwhile welcome:
  2. I was gonna get the cinema 700 but decided I wanna go all out I've had my very simple 2.0 Vizio soundbar I got 8 ago it had a sub port and I got a free inifinity bu 120 last year and got a nice taste of home bass before it out of nowhere while not in use made a thump noise and smoked decided I wanna go all out anyone have any opinions or advice for the 1200 read many good reviews but also a concerning amount of negative ones about ranging from it bricking within a few months to a year, audio cutting out, people having to buy smart switches cause they have to unplug it many times etc I'm excited but also nervous anyone own the 1200 could you please share your experience
  3. I've been using the Klipsch Cinema 800 soundbar for a few months now and I have to say that I haven't encountered sound quality like this anywhere else. It really deserves to be praised.
  4. I have not had any issues with my Connect App but I don't use it very often. The equalizer function is pretty basic: it allows you to raise or lower levels in three ranges (lower, mid, & trebil). When I had my Cinema 600 I found the effectiveness of the equalizer to be disappointing. It's better on the Cinema 800 but not great. Since the equalization is done in the soundbar, the results depend pretty much on the soundbar.
  5. The Cinema Series soundbars are being replaced with a new series. That's why you can find some great "deals". There are lots of posts about the Cinema 400 and the Cinema 600 soundbars, not all good I'm afraid. You may want to review the Klipsch support articles for the Cinema Series soundbars. If your Cinema 400 was just purchased, perhaps you can return it?
  6. I was just looking at this centre channel post and losing my mind - what an epic build. Paducah HT are great for all the pro/cinema stuff as mentioned by @The Dude - I personally LOVE the KPT-250 and the KPT8001 for home theatre installs. Pricey, but great for atmos (in my opinion). Unfortunately the VBT stuff hasn't come down here yet, but that seems like it's designed -really- for bigger rooms.
  7. If I would had read all the above I would not have purchased my Cinema 400 this morning. I got a good deal on it and pulled the trigger. I have the sound bar hooked up through hdmi and have not had an issue yet. Been running it for the last 8 hrs. Sound is good. I regret not going for the cinema 600 or higher. The cinema 400 is not compatible with the connect app which has a equalizer to tweak your sound and I did not know that until after I setup my cinema 400.
  8. I'm not sure if this will work, so please bare with me. I had trouble logging in so I found one of my old post to reply to. Life got busy with opening up a cabinet business and I didn't make too many changes to my system. I also haven't been in contact with the good friends and people on this Forum that helped me out with my modifications. I may mention names later. I'm finally going to get into Dolby Atmos and purchased a different processor to do so. Also getting ready to buy some different equipment. Next purchase will be the Magnetar UPD-800 Blu-ray player. I have been trying to purchase some Klipsch Cinema Surround speakers, but I'm having trouble finding a dealer. I have to search a little harder. I'm thinking of the KPT-12-VB, KPT-8-VB, Kpt-1200-VBM . I need 2 surrounds, and I might use them for 4 ceiling mounted Atmos speakers. Have to see what kind of frequency response is actually sent to the those Atmos channels. With these changes I'm going to sell 2 pairs of LaScalas , 1 pair of Klipschorns. The Klipschorns are stock, they used to be my benchmark speaker that I used when modifying other speakers. I havent listened to them in years. The LaScalas are my front and rear height speakers which I can't use as surrounds and ceiling speakers. I'll probably list these in the Garage sale section one of these days before going to eBay. That's all I'm going to say for now. I want to see if this reply post. Then I'll try starting a new one. I have to search the members list to see if some of the old timers like me are still active here. May have to change my old pass word, and email address. Q-Man

  10. Have the same issue, Cinema 600 Soundbar gave up the ghost just as described by HollyB. Hoping HollyB and/or 001 can provide the link to the parts HollyB references in the above post "I followed the link and I have purchased the exact same power supply 24 volts 4 amps 5 volts 1 amp". Appears to be two parts that I need to order and install to rectify this issue. Love this system and it sounds fantastic when it works, I just hope to have the same success as HollyB. The link and exact items I need to purchase, pics (I can't see HollyB's pics), and any additionally tips would be greatly appreciated
  11. Hello everyone! Following on from my 1st post back in 3/10/2022, I've since fixed a few Cinema 600 power supply boards for other owners. They all had the same failure with capacitors C05 and C06. I replaced them with 220uF 16V part from NCC (Nippon Chemi-Con) KZE series. This is not a common size part. You may use 220uF 25V instead but it'll be a tight fit. As some others have noted here, the +5V and ground cable colors seem to deviate from set to set. For those having problem with their power units from Amazon, do trace the respective cables back to the amplifier board (left most connector) and wire them accordingly. I've attached a photo here for reference. STB need not be connected, it's only needed with the original power board. You can safely insulate it with electrical tape and tuck it away.
  12. The BAR series and Cinema series soundbars have had their ongoing issues. Thankfully, Klipsch has been providing warranty replacements, sometimes even outside the warranty period. šŸ˜‰
  13. I just found this thread because my Cinema 600 died one month short of 3 years. I have to give props to Klipsch in my case because they sent me a Cinema 800 for replacement free of charge and told me they donā€™t want the 600 back and I can do with it as I see fit. Soā€¦. I plan to attempt the repair on this thread and use in another room. Thanks for all the info here and I will follow up after the new power supply comes.
  14. When doing the spec for cinema, We used them as ceiling speakers....Not an issue if you use a correct mount. I use KPT-1200M for my ATMOS tops.
  15. Anybody have a fix for the sound delay that happens when you fast forward a recording? Very annoying when the picture starts up after fast forwarding and it takes a couple of seconds for the sound to come out. Thanks
  16. I'm new to the brand am gonna probably rock this setup for awhile as I've heavily neglected my home audio for 7 years I've done much research myself into these but want more opinions I would get the higher end cinema 1200 and the rp series sub but that's simply out of my budget any input would be appreciated šŸ˜
  17. Distortion blows tweeters. I blew tweeters on Cornwalls with a pretty good vintage Marantz 90 watt integrated amp. 1180 DC if I remember correctly. Moved to a Crown Microtech 1200 and had all kinds of headroom. Never blew a tweeter again. Never had to push the amp. It wouldn't even get warm.
  18. There are very good Class D amps available for under $250 each. You could use inexpensive amps to drive the woofers, a nice amp for the mods and more affordable amps for the tweeters. You could capably Tri-amp for well under $1200 or less.
  19. I don't have much knowledge of AVR receivers, but they definitely have a lot of functionality. First and foremost, I want a great 2-channel experience. I have Khorns. I have used a Crown Microtech 1200 with them, and this pair-up will knock your socks off with very clear, authoritative punch. Similar results with a Yamaha MX-something amp with a matching preamp that I used to have. I have also heard Khorns with vintage Marantz receivers. The sound was just "okay" in comparison. What about modern AVR's? Are there killer ones out there in nice used condition for under $750? I really want the quality of sound I have only experienced so far with separate components, but that's not to say that a good AVR can't do it. I am sure the high end ones can, but what about the price range I mentioned? Anyone have experience with both separates and AVR's?
  20. I bought a pair of SE84UFO. I bought these on 4-10-22. At that time I was around number 1200 on the real time build sheet. Today I am at around number 380. Doing the math Decware builds around 400 to 450 amps per year (all types included). It will be close to another year for me. So around a 3 year wait. Right now I see over 2400 on the list. That would be over a 5 year wait (closer to 6) the way things are presently going. Enjoy fellas. I feel like if I eventually don't want these amps I could double my money in about an hour. By the way I can use them on any of the Heritage in my signature. I had planned on the lascalas. I require near silent equipment. Anything else and it won't be in my house.
  21. I hope my question makes sense: i have a stereo system with a tube amp and Cambridge Cxn v2.Cornwall IV speakers i stream via my iPad or iPhone. Apple music and Tidal. Happiness. i also have in same room a home cinema(dolby via, marantz 8015) on my home cinema i have a apple tv, i like the navigation and my way around apple tvā€™s interface. my question is; if i stream music via apple tv and have menu and apple music up on my AV and choose my music to go via Cambridge and tube, is is a bad practice and is it worse than streaming with iphone or ipad? short question. Is it same to stream via Iphone to your streamer as with Apple tv?
  22. it's notttt really a HT sub but sure, go for it. due to the construction the only way in is through the driver (as mentioned). this is not the best solution, but instead of dropping huge $, use a passive. this sub goes down to 18hz in the specs but, looking closer, it's 27hz at +/- 3db. specs also say it goes up to 240hz. nice! this passive cuts at 250hz: https://www.parts-express.com/Eminence-PX-B250-Low-Pass-Crossover-Board-250-Hz-290-612?quantity=1 use this with a bridged pro amp - QSC usa series are cheap and do a good job on the used market amongst other heavy duty toroidal boiz. that's what a lot of cinemas used to spec. looking for amps with a crossover? if you have small $ to burn, get a crown XLS. if you have muy $ to burn, QSC DCA. and pair with a used qsc cinema processor..
  23. Hey yall! I restored a pair of Forte IIā€™s and replaced the capacitors. I bought a Marantz NR-1200 as I thought it would be a nice pairing. I really liked having the option of the HDMIā€¦.especially making it easier for the wife to use the system as it is connected to the Apple TV and I can do everything with one remote. I recently borrowed an old Sony TA-5650 from my father and hooked it up to my Fortes via laptop with my iBasso Dac. Holy Moly! I thought I was listening to a totally different system! The detail, separation, and fullness was amazing! I couldnā€™t believe what was coming out of these speakers!!! Now I need to replace the Marantz. šŸ˜ž So now Iā€™m thinking of picking up a Blusound node and hooking it up to either this Sony, or maybe trying to find a modern integrated amp that works well with the Forte IIs. Has anyone used a setup like this? Does anyone have recommendations for an integrated amp that pairs well with Forte IIs thatā€™s UNDER say $800? Cambridge audio? Iā€™d love a tube amp but they all seem about $2000+. would appreciate any input.
  24. Nobody has addressed the "error reading name" portion of OP's post. I'm seeing the same issue where the Connect app sees Cinema 800 soundbar, connects to wifi, goes through the Alexa config screen, but stumbles upon reading the system name and gives the error, "There was an error reading the name. Please try again." It happens even after doing a Factory Reset on the soundbar. Perhaps a Klipsch rep can address the issue. Cheers.
  25. The firmware values for sur r and sur t are not matching what the latest firmware is supposed to be I have the cinema 800 with the surround 3 rear speakers I also run a extra wired sub that for some reason has a loud pop when ever I turn my tv off any advice on these two problems thx
