  1. Hi there, I had the same issue. I understand that this problem occurs when you connect the STB and the GND. I have the Cinema 600, with the subwoofer and the satellites, and everything stayed on once the soundbar was turned off. I repaired the original (as some sheets indicated) and replaced the 400v 100uf capacitors and the 16v 220uf ones with new ones, since the regulator was OK, and reassembled with the original parts. And everything started working perfectly again.
  2. As we all know, the Cinema 600 has its issues. As long as your soundbar is still under warranty Klipsch is required to provide a warranty replacement. I would open a case with Klipsch product Support. Klipsch may have some suggestions how to resolve your issue and if their recommendations don't help they should provide a/another replacement. Have you reviewed the Cinema 600 support articles?
  3. I have the cinema 600 bought the board and did the swap. It powered right up which was great, BUT the sub now won't power down when the sound bar is turned off. ????
  4. Hey, i hope you could help me with something here. I have received my 2nd Cinema 600 set after i thought the first one was faulty, but the new one has the same flaw and im a bit disappointed. Basically the subwoofer has strange crackling noises during low volume sections of movies and stuff, especially during dialog of men while there is no background noise. I dont really know how to describe it. Like i would constantly tap on the membrane of the subwoofer, like using a shitty microphone on a windy day. At first i thought its a faulty product, but i have received the second set today and it sounds the same. When i turn down the sub volume the cackling sound stays basically the same. Its either there, or not and after a certain volume level its gone.
  5. Historians & Advisors, Looking to create an Audio Experience. I know this will be a process. So, I sent to the manufacturing address a CD. The reason for the CD is to find the sound produced by HERESY II’s and determine if later H Series are able to provide the same Listening experience. Tomorrow I will send another CD to the Historical Museum as I am understanding by reading here; that, the museum houses those versions of speakers and that the Advisors can be reached at that Historical address. I just picked-up 16 weeks of movie theater advertisements and as that ends in September 2024. I would like to have a HERESY II system in place to integrate movie theater 5.1 Surround Sound fixed speakers systems. With the HERESY II down front providing the details. My thinking is the mix could gel nicely, even without an actual 5.1 recording. They can be, of course, mixed in 5.1. That would be cut on DVD not CD. Anyways, the album submissions this year will be to every prize, award, available this year and next. So, renting a movie cinema theater for a day or two should pay for themselves. Getting the music onto campuses will be a full tour in and outside of the Continental U.S.. So, this can become a thing. Fast. I’m not seeking an endorsement deal. I’m prying as to whether your installation services are capable of doing temporary installation services? Same thing you already do, except you take with you everything you brought. I will be sending a CD to the CARNEGIE LECTURE HALL. In Pittsburgh. I’ll give you a few days or a week before I mail it off.
  6. Updating the story of this Sunfire Cinema Grand Amp. Just in case anyone needs one of these units repaired, and would like a solid repair/refurb service recommendation. You will be well advised to check out Nelionaudio.com Greg is aces. Once back in regular use, the amp performed flawlessly for months. Long story shortened; the electrical transformer that feeds our house, shorted out due to vines growing up the pole, and into the wiring. Only one piece of equipment in the house was damaged during the rather spectacular “event”. Yep, you guessed it. So back it went, to Greg at Nelion audio, after an extensive repair, at a more than fair cost, it’s once again back in service, and as good as new. I’ve recently sent my Carver M-1.0T to them for refurbishment & upgrade to their M-1.0T mkII opt002 specs, which ups the power from 200 watts to 460, and claims to silence the power-on, “thump” that these amps are known for. They quickly performed the work, and returned the amp. I’ve not had the chance to get it back into the family room system, but my expectations are high. I’ll follow up once I’ve put everything back in place.
  7. After my second BAR 48 died, Klipsch gave me a Cinema 600. It had just become available. Unfortunately, it only lasted a few months. I was then given a Cinema 800. Search these community forums for "Cinema 800" to learn more. Both the Cinema 800 & 1200 have reliability issues too but far fewer than the BAR 48 and the Cinema 600 do. Early firmware updates were a disaster but the latest ones are stable. You should be quite happy with your Cinema 800. I am. 🙂
  8. You might want to sit down before you read this: I contacted Klipsch and let them know that I had seen this was an on-going fairly common problem and wondered if they were covering it with an extended warranty. THEY ARE REPLACING MY CINEMA 600 WITH AN 800!!! They no longer make the 600 so they are replacing it with the 800. I'm so gobsmacked, I'm telling myself that I'll believe it when it shows up (in 5-10 business days). I'm wondering if I am delusional when I read the e-mail and receipt for it! That was a short shelf life for the 600 so my guess is they quit making them because of the power supply problem. This problem has to be costing Klipsch a lot. Not to be ungrateful but I hope the 800 has a more robust PS. At least, now I'm ready. If it has the same power supply, when it goes, I have the one I just got from Amazon! LOL! (and bonus: Now I know I need a set or Torx drivers!) Thank you Klipsch!
  9. Scammer now has those ^^ and he has been busy today. 10. Here we are in April 2024 and my 2 1/2 year old Cinema 600 has dies, I presume with the same problem. I ordered the power supply. What are the names and size tamper proof screws on the back? I want to put in regualr screws because obviously these things need to be tampered with! - Thanks
  11. What are the performence of the 3/4 inch horn tweeters like, will they be similar in performence to the ones in my cinema 400 soundbar. Is the tweeter in the pic only a part of the horn tweeter or is it the tweeter in whole.
  12. I want to also add my voice to everyone here who has thanked Sixer for starting this thread, and to the Cinema 600 owners who joined in to include and clarify the experiences they had with our version of the soundbar. We purchased the Cinema 600 just over 3 years ago. Last month we had the exact same symptoms that have been described here, the audio getting a little static-y, followed by problems powering up and then the lights not coming on and then getting that one red light before the next time after that trying to turn it on and kaput... nothing. A quick internet search brought me to this thread, I read through it, and even though I have absolutely no electronics experience and am not a DIY'er at all, the postings in this thread gave me a clear enough vision and the confidence to tackle the task of retrieving a hardly-ever used set of gifted allen wrenches, disemboweling the sound bar and replacing that good-for-nothing ETOP power supply (although okay, it did make it through 3 years of not very heavy use). Like most here, I got the NOYITO replacement for $15 off Amazon (only 1 left in-stock the last time I saw about 5 days ago, must be a lot of us replacing Klipsch soundbar power supplies). Long story short, my replacement worked, my soundbar is back in business, I am bragging to everyone who listens about my newly acquired electronics skills, and I am grateful to all here who shared. I also did splurge and got an inexpensive multimeter/voltmeter. That came in handy to verify, before unplugging, snipping wires and removing the ETOP, that yes, had 120V AC going in, had 24V DC coming out on the larger output wires, but only had about 3V coming out on the smaller output wires. It also helped me verify the outputs on the new power supply, that as described elsewhere here as you are looking at it from that output side, 24V are the two on the left and 5V are the two on the right. It also verified for me that the NOYITO was marked correctly, with the two positive outputs being on the far left and right of the four, and the two negative outputs being the two in the middle. I can also add to the verification that for my Cinema 600 for the smaller 5V wires, white was GND, black was VDD and red was SBY, and I twisted the VDD and SBY together onto the +5V output of the new power supply. Now, yes, the NOYITO is about the same width, but shorter in length than the ETOP, and the metal heat sink grates, which are bigger and placed differently on the circuit board, don't seem to easily allow you to use one of the existing mounting holes in the soundbar backplate. I see here that some people have drilled new holes in the backplate to mount. I did not find that convenient for my 600, so I just have my replacement power supply sitting unmounted in there. The heat sinks do lay against the inside of the casing, but so far, the area has only felt tepidly warm to me. If that turns out to be an issue down the road, I would have to go back in there and figure out how and where to drill a new mounting hole or holes and get it to slide in and fit in there mounted to the backplate given that the size and orientation of the heat sinks make that harder to do. So, thanks again to Sixer and everyone here. This fix worked for my Cinema 600 soundbar. If Klipsch is smart and monitoring this, I want them to know that their reputation for quality has taken a hit with me. Being 3 years out, I did not choose to call them. But, it would have gone a long way with me if I had seen on their website a troubleshooting description of all of this, an acknowledgement of the customer experiences with these ETOP power supplies, and the offer of an inexpensive replacement that would include detailed and easy-to-follow instructions for doing so. In my book, that would have really set them apart in my eyes and gone a long way to enhance their reputation with me and win me over as a loyal long-term customer.
  13. Very sorry for your loss. This thread will help decode all the info on the tag: https://community.klipsch.com/index.php?/topic/161759-klipsch-heritage-codes-moved-to-ask-the-historian-section-link-enclosed/ Generally speaking, vintage Cornwalls in very good or better condition usually sell for $1200-1500.
  14. I was looking for the basic specs for the JBL subwoofers to give you a starting point for reference. I found the page I linked to thru a basic search for "JBL PSW-1200 owners manual". There were several hits to choose from and I chose that one since it referenced the specs prominently. More searching may turn up better info for your purposes.
  15. Interestingly enough... Perhaps due to Bidenomics My Jolida CD player is selling for more than the $1200 it was new. 🙄🙄🙄
  16. @1MoreFord Thanks for the manuals lead, however, I can't download without registering and it won't allow any new registrations. If I had the Service Manual, I could likely repair the JBL PSW-1200, as I am pretty electronically literate. Without that manual it wasn't worth even trying for me. Is that something you could get for me, or is that not allowed ? https://www.hifiengine.com/register_an_account.shtml https://www.hifiengine.com/register/register.php
  17. So, because I am not up on the current state of audio equipment, I really have no idea what to consider. I was thinking I read somwhere that Monoprice was acquired by Klipsch ? Anyway, the JBL PSW-1200 was fine as far as I was concerned. However it's amplifier board burned up, and again from my reading this was a common thing with the JBL Sub Woofers of the time. I don't need anything great, just a decent one that can handle a room that is about 15x20 feet with good non-distorted base. It doesn't have to be able to crack my walls, or knock things off shelves in my second story. Honestly, reliability is probably one of my more important considerations.
  18. Hi, I'm really not up on the current Audio Technology. I had an older JBL PWS-1200 Sub Woofer that has died. I am trying to select a Klipsch Sub Woofer to replace it. However, I am confused by so many of the Klipsch Subs having what appear to be the same specifications. They are all < $100 difference, so any one of them is within my budget. Can anyone tell me the difference between the following and why I would want to get one particular one over the others ? Thanks in advance for your assistance. https://www.amazon.com/Klipsch-R-12SW-Subwoofer/dp/B00MJ1YR8Y/ref=sr_1_4?sr=8-4 https://www.amazon.com/Klipsch-Wireless-Subwoofer-Brushed-R-12SWi/dp/B01N0HJEOX/ref=sr_1_3?sr=8-3 https://www.amazon.com/Klipsch-Synergy-Subwoofer-Cerametallic-Front-Firing/dp/B0849XQJF4/ref=sr_1_8_sspa?sr=8-8-spons&sp_csd=d2lkZ2V0TmFtZT1zcF9tdGY https://www.amazon.com/Klipsch-R-120SW-Subwoofer/dp/B07FK2WNW4/ref=sr_1_5?sr=8-5

  20. I just purchased a RP-1200sw on Monday and the power indicator light only worked for a hour, now it does not come on but the subwoofer does have power also the gain has to be turned to 7 for any significant bass to be heard. Has anyone had this issue before?
  21. Duke, you know I used to say the same years ago. I had a Microtech 1200. I sold the old stuff a while back. I recently bought KHorns with an Onkyo M504 165 wpc amp. The amp has meters. I was surprised to learn what 20 watts sounds like. To put it in perspective, I play drums with the volume significantly lower than that. 20 watts will drown out my drums. Either that, or my amp's meters are wrong.
  22. I don't believe that ARC/eARC is your issue. I have an older Samsung TV that does not have eARC. My Cinema 800 is connected to the TV's HDMI/ARC input and I have full 4K60Hz video. You could have an issue with your TV's HDMI/ARC input. That is why I said: If you used a different HDMI input on your TV when you did your tests, you did not eliminate the TV's HDMI/ARC input as the problem, which has nothing to do with ARC per se. Very true but ARC/eARC is not used for video. The Cinema Series soundbar articles mention eARC because it has the bandwidth required to provide all the audio formats the Cinema 1200 supports as described in Cinema 1200 - Decoding and Playback Modes but that article is a bit misleading. HDMI/ARC has the bandwidth to support a Dolby Digital Plus audio stream which provides higher quality audio (CD quality) when compared to Dolby Digital. Furthermore, Dolby Digital Plus does support Dolby Atmos, albeit at a lower audio quality. Since the Cinema Series soundbars do support Dolby Digital Plus we can listen to Dolby Atmos content via an HDMI/ARC connection as long as the TV can provide it.
  23. Okay, you have confirmed your HDMI cables are good and everything works when the soundbar is out of the equation. Assuming you used the HDMI connection on the TV that the soundbar connects to, that just leaves the soundbar itself. If your soundbar is defective, and still within the warranty period, Klipsch will provide a warranty replacement but they will want evidence of a defect. The results of your tests should provide that evidence. Cinema 700/800/1200 Video Passthrough Capabilities states that the soundbar supports 4k60 passthrough at Chroma 4:4:4. That should be enough to confirm there is an issue with your soundbar. You may be able to learn a bit more if you can determine whether your soundbar can pass through 4k30 passthrough at Chroma 4:4:4 or 4k60 passthrough at Chroma 4:4:2. Either way, you should open a case with Klipsch Product Support and begin a dialog with them.
  24. Ok so I used the series x cable to my tv directly and verified that it supports 4K@60hz I also did the same directly from my series x to my tv via the provided HDMI that came the 1200 and it also does support 4K@60hz where does this leave me is it the soundbar itself? I have verified it has the latest firmware and messed with multiple settings via my xbx/tv
  25. Ok after quick looking my series x come with an 2.1 ultra high speed HDMI by default as for the one that came with cinema 1200 it only says high speed with Ethernet seems my problem lies there hopes this works
