Can I use the same power supply for a Cinema 1200 as the Bar 48? there are more wires (2 gnd-2 VCC 1 Stb then the 24v. )

Regarding replacing the Cinema 600 power supply with the recommended Amazon one, can anyone tell me how the 5 wires connect to the four blue connectors on the board. Already connected the black and red power cables. Thanks.

Would folks here recommend preemptively replacing the power supply inside the cinema 600 soundbar rather than waiting for a possible failure? Can other components (audio processor electronics, etc) be damaged by the power failure (aka brownout failure)? Also, has anyone had issues with the subwoofer power supply? I have a used/refurbished cinema 600 on the way, looking to try to give it the best chance possible. I have extensive electronics repair and soldering experience. Thanks, Peter

My cinema 600 lost power as well, it's out of warranty , so I purchased the above power supply listed in the link. I see the Pic from the original soundbar power supply does anyone have a Pic of the new power supply wired?

Have a Sony X900H 65" TV with HDMI3 connected to a Cinema 600 sound bar. This setup has been in use since 2021 or so. Have a DirecTV HR44 DVR into the HDMI1 on the Sony TV. HDMI-CEC is enabled for everything. For the first 3 years of this setup, everything worked as it should. On the DirecTV remote which is programmed for the Sony TV when you hit volume up, the TV shows an indicator in the corner that the volume is increasing, and the sound through the Cinema 600 goes up. When you hit volume down on the DirecTV remote the volume went down. A few months ago, something changed (nothing we've done). Now when you hit volume up on the DirecTV remote, at first you see the volume begin to go up, but then it goes down, down, down and all the way down to 0 if you keep holding it in. If you hit the volume down, it also goes down. The only way to turn the volume up is to get the SONY or Klipsch remote and use this volume up controls. We instantly thought the volume toggle button on the DirecTV remote went bad since operation worked fine juggling multiple remotes. So we had DirecTV send us a brand new remote. I walked through the on screen pairing process where it detected the TV as Sony and pushed out the Sony IR command set to the new DirecTV remote. To our surprise, the same issue remains even with this new remote. Every time you try to turn the volume up with DirecTV, you see the volume initially start to go up but then it goes down. You can pulsate volume up on DirecTV remote and it just keeps going lower and lower until its completely muted at 0. Break out the Sony remote and you can turn it up. Now what I found is if I cover the IR EYE on the sound bar, this behavior doesn't happen. As long as the sound bar does not "see" the DirecTV's remote, the volume up button will definitely turn the volume up as long as you hold it - all the way to 100% if you can stand it! So I have a bit of an eyesore going on. A piece of paper colored in with a dark marker and packing tape holding it down across the sound bar. Ugly, but it fixed the problem. Does anyone know what could have happened between 2021 and 2024 that causes the Cinema 600 sound bar to interpret Sony Volume Up from a DirecTV remote as volume down, but Sony volume Up from a Sony remote as Volume up? I don't really need the IR eye but it would be nice to not have a big piece of tape on it. If I want to change inputs, I have the iPhone app or the hardware buttons on the sound bar itself.

Hello all, Im looking at some HT upgrades (mainly rp-8000F iis, a new center, sub and receiver) During my research, I've been looking between the Denon 4800h, Marantz Cinema 40, Onkyo RZ50 or RZ70. I saw a mention of pre-programmed "Klipsch" EQ settings in these Onkyos. Has anyone messed with this or have any input on this "mode"? Wondering if this is just gimmicks or if it's legit good.

I’ve just had my M-1.0t refurbished & upgraded, also recently had my Sunfire Cinema Grand repaired, after a power surge. I listen to his amps most every day. I hope he’s doing ok.

Purchased a Klipsch Cinema 1200 and immediately had to get a replacement. Around a year later it failed again and stopped working completely. During the entire time having the replacement I had to manually disconnect the power cord intermittently to get it to turn on. Now, it’s completely broken. I don’t write reviews, but this is a joke and am pushing for full reimbursement and will never purchase another Klipsch speaker again.

Cabinets are obviously really beat up and need a lot of work to look decent. If all the drivers work I’d say $700-800.

I just purchased the Cinema 800 with surround 3s and they sound amazing. Then checked the firmware and everything is updated. It's only been a week. I hope I don't regret the purchase but good to know the Onkyo partnership has made their electronics reliable. Good comments on this forum. Glad to have joined.

Thank all you guys for your genius knowledge. I am an untrained novice...a messy solderer at that! And thanks to you all, I got my amazon power supply in to my Cinema 600 and it's working (for the moment....)!!! Since they gave me an 800 (It sounds a bit better and more options for connecting the sub), I am hoping the 600 keeps working and I can give it to my friend for his new place! Did you see Klipsch has come out with a whole new line of soundbars and is sunsetting these? They are made with Onkyo. I hope they have better luck. I experienced good customer service.

@Peter P. As per your request, I am responding with my decision. I thought long and hard about what you guys said above. I came to realize that without the ability to at least control the subwoofer, I would likely not be happy with it. The SVS really made me think about the value of the control and not having to climb behind my TV to adjust what little was adjustable on the Klipsch and other inexpensive subwoofers. It also made me think about the fact that I hadn't updated any of my audio equipment in 20+ years and it was probably time to do that. The final event that pushed me over the edge was the airing of the Billy Joel the 100th on the 14th. I was still without a decent sound system to enjoy it. So, not being a person who likes to buy used stuff in unknown condition without a warranty or support, and in consideration of all of your comments and a great video by the Obsessed Garage: SVS Subwoofers: Which Entry-Level Sub? (PB-1000 vs PB-2000 & SB-1000 vs SB-2000) - YouTube (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lZTMv3cO6tQ). I decided on the SVS PB-1000. I have received it and set it up and I needed to talk to their support on an issue with that. I was very impressed by the sales person and then the support person who was available to help me at 7:45pm the night the subwoofer showed up. I now have a new dilemma. My current regular speakers are again 20+ year old tiny Optimus Bookshelf speakers from Radio Shack. Oddly enough, they are not terrible, but, obviously not anything close to the current state of the art. Due to space considerations, I was going to try to replace them with more up-to-date Bookshelf speakers and I spent a LOT of time researching them, including the ones suggested by the video above (PSB Alpha P5) and then I noticed that there were Tower speakers that came in at a similar cost to some of the better Bookshelf speakers. I originally had not considered those due to space constraints. My TV is in a corner and there isn't much room on either side, particularly on the left side which would overhang the fireplace. However, in looking at the prices and reviews, it seemed like there were only 2-3 speakers that were well reviewed, priced right, and were physically appealing to me. Polk Audio XT70 or XT60 Sony SSCS3 Klipsch (several, but they are so large I'm not sure they would work) I currently have a Pioneer VSX-D509S AV Receiver and I am not planning to replace that. I have also been looking at Bookshelf speakers (around $500/pair), but that is a really long list and I am wondering if I should consider Powered or only passive. The reason I have been thinking powered is for the same reason I picked the SVS Subwoofer and that is the ability to tune them if needed. Some I have considered: Passive ------- SVS Prime Bookshelf PSB Alpha P5 Polk Audio T15 Active ------ Kali Audio MM6 Kali Audio LP6v2 (discontinued ?) Audiodngine A5+ PreSonus Eris E5 BT Update (I started that text 2 weeks ago) I purchased the Elac Debut 2.0 B6.2 Bookshelf speakers due to them having great reviews, but not being expensive. I also selected them due to the fact that the Tweeter, Woofer, and Base Port are all inline and the Dome Tweeter appears to be relatively omni directional. I also ordered a pair of the Polk Audio XT70 Towers in case the Elac's didn't do the job. I do like the the Elacs, but after visiting the Best Buy Magnolia store and listening to a pair of Martin Logan Shelf Speakers that were about $800/each, so, unfortunately I know how high the bar can be. But, like I said originally, I am not an audiophile, but I can tell the difference, I just don't want to invest the amount needed to get to that level. Hi there, I had the same issue. I understand that this problem occurs when you connect the STB and the GND. I have the Cinema 600, with the subwoofer and the satellites, and everything stayed on once the soundbar was turned off. I repaired the original (as some sheets indicated) and replaced the 400v 100uf capacitors and the 16v 220uf ones with new ones, since the regulator was OK, and reassembled with the original parts. And everything started working perfectly again.

As we all know, the Cinema 600 has its issues. As long as your soundbar is still under warranty Klipsch is required to provide a warranty replacement. I would open a case with Klipsch product Support. Klipsch may have some suggestions how to resolve your issue and if their recommendations don't help they should provide a/another replacement. Have you reviewed the Cinema 600 support articles?

I have the cinema 600 bought the board and did the swap. It powered right up which was great, BUT the sub now won't power down when the sound bar is turned off. ????

Hey, i hope you could help me with something here. I have received my 2nd Cinema 600 set after i thought the first one was faulty, but the new one has the same flaw and im a bit disappointed. Basically the subwoofer has strange crackling noises during low volume sections of movies and stuff, especially during dialog of men while there is no background noise. I dont really know how to describe it. Like i would constantly tap on the membrane of the subwoofer, like using a shitty microphone on a windy day. At first i thought its a faulty product, but i have received the second set today and it sounds the same. When i turn down the sub volume the cackling sound stays basically the same. Its either there, or not and after a certain volume level its gone.

Historians & Advisors, Looking to create an Audio Experience. I know this will be a process. So, I sent to the manufacturing address a CD. The reason for the CD is to find the sound produced by HERESY II’s and determine if later H Series are able to provide the same Listening experience. Tomorrow I will send another CD to the Historical Museum as I am understanding by reading here; that, the museum houses those versions of speakers and that the Advisors can be reached at that Historical address. I just picked-up 16 weeks of movie theater advertisements and as that ends in September 2024. I would like to have a HERESY II system in place to integrate movie theater 5.1 Surround Sound fixed speakers systems. With the HERESY II down front providing the details. My thinking is the mix could gel nicely, even without an actual 5.1 recording. They can be, of course, mixed in 5.1. That would be cut on DVD not CD. Anyways, the album submissions this year will be to every prize, award, available this year and next. So, renting a movie cinema theater for a day or two should pay for themselves. Getting the music onto campuses will be a full tour in and outside of the Continental U.S.. So, this can become a thing. Fast. I’m not seeking an endorsement deal. I’m prying as to whether your installation services are capable of doing temporary installation services? Same thing you already do, except you take with you everything you brought. I will be sending a CD to the CARNEGIE LECTURE HALL. In Pittsburgh. I’ll give you a few days or a week before I mail it off.

Updating the story of this Sunfire Cinema Grand Amp. Just in case anyone needs one of these units repaired, and would like a solid repair/refurb service recommendation. You will be well advised to check out Nelionaudio.com Greg is aces. Once back in regular use, the amp performed flawlessly for months. Long story shortened; the electrical transformer that feeds our house, shorted out due to vines growing up the pole, and into the wiring. Only one piece of equipment in the house was damaged during the rather spectacular “event”. Yep, you guessed it. So back it went, to Greg at Nelion audio, after an extensive repair, at a more than fair cost, it’s once again back in service, and as good as new. I’ve recently sent my Carver M-1.0T to them for refurbishment & upgrade to their M-1.0T mkII opt002 specs, which ups the power from 200 watts to 460, and claims to silence the power-on, “thump” that these amps are known for. They quickly performed the work, and returned the amp. I’ve not had the chance to get it back into the family room system, but my expectations are high. I’ll follow up once I’ve put everything back in place.

After my second BAR 48 died, Klipsch gave me a Cinema 600. It had just become available. Unfortunately, it only lasted a few months. I was then given a Cinema 800. Search these community forums for "Cinema 800" to learn more. Both the Cinema 800 & 1200 have reliability issues too but far fewer than the BAR 48 and the Cinema 600 do. Early firmware updates were a disaster but the latest ones are stable. You should be quite happy with your Cinema 800. I am. 🙂

You might want to sit down before you read this: I contacted Klipsch and let them know that I had seen this was an on-going fairly common problem and wondered if they were covering it with an extended warranty. THEY ARE REPLACING MY CINEMA 600 WITH AN 800!!! They no longer make the 600 so they are replacing it with the 800. I'm so gobsmacked, I'm telling myself that I'll believe it when it shows up (in 5-10 business days). I'm wondering if I am delusional when I read the e-mail and receipt for it! That was a short shelf life for the 600 so my guess is they quit making them because of the power supply problem. This problem has to be costing Klipsch a lot. Not to be ungrateful but I hope the 800 has a more robust PS. At least, now I'm ready. If it has the same power supply, when it goes, I have the one I just got from Amazon! LOL! (and bonus: Now I know I need a set or Torx drivers!) Thank you Klipsch!

Here we are in April 2024 and my 2 1/2 year old Cinema 600 has dies, I presume with the same problem. I ordered the power supply. What are the names and size tamper proof screws on the back? I want to put in regualr screws because obviously these things need to be tampered with! - Thanks

What are the performence of the 3/4 inch horn tweeters like, will they be similar in performence to the ones in my cinema 400 soundbar. Is the tweeter in the pic only a part of the horn tweeter or is it the tweeter in whole.

While everyone is debating the $4k Chorus II's advertised elsewhere, I'm putting my Chorus II's here in Houston up for sale. Thinking $800. Have had for 15 years, all original except for the grills, which were purchased new from Klipsch several years ago when you could still get them. Nonsmoker, no pets. Certainly not as nice as those for $4k, and obviously cosmetically they are in relatively rough shape, compared to most on this site. They were this way when I bought them, but musically they sounded as they should back then, and still do. Comments are welcome, if you're not too tough on me Don't need to sell, but if someone is interested who is local, please let me know.
