Slapfireguy Posted March 18, 2013 Posted March 18, 2013 ***SOLD*** I am finally ready to sell my walnut finish Klipschorn Speakers. Here is the information about this specific pair. They are a pair of K.B.WO - AA with serial numbers 8P952 and 8P953. I am asking $1800.00 for the pair. This is right in line with the current going prices. They are located at my family home in Brentwood, TN. off of Granny White Pike, one mile north of Old Hickory Boulevard south. The story behind this specific pair of Klipschorn speakers is that I bought them from Tompall Glaser one of the original Outlaws with Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings and Jessi Colter. Wanted, The Outlaws is an album by Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson, Jessi Colter, and Tompall Glaser, released on RCA Victor in 1976, and consisting of previously released material. Released to capitalize on the new outlaw country movement at that time, Wanted! The Outlaws earned its place in music history by becoming the first country album to sell a million copies. Glaser's Streets of Baltimore has been covered by Gram Parsons on his first solo album, GP. It has also been covered by Nanci Griffith on her album Other Voices, Too, and it was a country hit for the legendary, Bobby Bare. I bought these speakers when Tompall and the Glaser Brothers (members of The Grand Ole Opry) were selling their studio and building back in the mid-80's. Glaser Studios was the first 16 track recording facility, located at the corner of 19th Ave. South and South Streets in Nashville, TN. I am the second owner of these speakers. In addition to their unequaled and legendary sound, they are beautiful pieces of fine walnut furniture. There is one small nick in the wood along a facing strip, but If you call them Klipsch will send you a strip of the self-adhesive walnut veneer and a bottle of stain/finish to restore it correctly. It's an easy fix. I decided to keep them as I purchased them because of their historical significance. My son had wanted them, but he Is 28 and married and they don't have room for them at their townhouse, so it's time to let them go. I live just outside of Toronto, so they just sit at the house, and that's a shame. I hope that if you purchase these, you will enjoy them as much as I have. Quote

Moderators Youthman Posted March 19, 2013 Moderators Posted March 19, 2013 I have to admit that is the most unusual setup for Khorns that I have ever seen. Didn't know you could use a DLP TV to make a corner. [] Quote
CECAA850 Posted March 19, 2013 Posted March 19, 2013 Why does the heading say Nashville, TN and you live in Toronto? His family home is in TN per the first post. Quote
CECAA850 Posted March 19, 2013 Posted March 19, 2013 Looks like there's a dog chewing on one of them in the CL ad[]. Quote
Slapfireguy Posted March 19, 2013 Author Posted March 19, 2013 Hi Everyone. The speakers are consecutive numbers. I have corrected them in the original post. No, the dog was sniffing - only in the picture for scale (for the uninitiated). As you can tell, They are sitting on either side of that old TV for 26 years. They have not been attached or in use for the last 13 years. They have sat in that same room on either side of that old TV. We had to corner them to the TV because it was the only way to fit them in. Originally they were set up and fed by a good system. The family wants a new TV for that room and they want 5.1 sound so, Im in Toronto, the speakers are in Nashville, I never get to enjoy them so its time to send them on their journey. As another poster said, there are more photos in the Craigs list ad - http://nashville.craigslist.org/ele/3690071042.html Let me know if you have other questions or need further info. Woody Quote
mikebse2a3 Posted March 19, 2013 Posted March 19, 2013 Hey Woody very nice......and the id tag has PWK's signature if no one has noticed. Quote
John Chi-town Posted March 19, 2013 Posted March 19, 2013 Do you have any documentation showing that these Khorns actually belonged to TG? Quote
Rhetor Posted March 20, 2013 Posted March 20, 2013 Budman, aren't you first in lime based on your earlier post? Are you talking to the owner? They are nice enough that I do not think they will,be around long before a sale. Quote

Budman Posted March 22, 2013 Posted March 22, 2013 Mr. Woody told me i was second in line to buy them right after someone from craigslist. i emailed and asked for some nicer pictures ( i also emailed you to see if you were in the running ) and he told me that he had several people before me and they were offering more than his asking price. his last email was sorry they are sold. what i can't understand is i told him 2 hours after he posted them here i want them if they are consec serial numbers because he typed them in wrong. 24 hours later he posts the right serial numbers and asks if anyone has any questions. what part of I WANT THEM doesn't he understand Quote

Sounds like what I run into with craigslist all the time. I didn't think it was suppose to happen here. Good luck on your search. Quote
