Moderators dtel Posted June 24, 2014 Moderators Share Posted June 24, 2014 That's cool looking, nothing here in the main part of the house, a mirror and the rest is windows and brick behind the heater no room left really. framed photos in the rest of the house. mungkiman
Here's an Intaglio etching I did of a peacock, and then tinted with watercolors. It hangs in my dining room.
seti
Photos of this piece of art do not do it justice. It is made from hole punch gift wrap by psychedelic artist Byron Wener. The reflective nature of the paper means copies will never look as good as originals and very hard to photograph. He knew I was a PWK fan and did this one for me.

mungkiman
Some of you know that I build and remodel high-end homes for a living. So, while not on my wall, and certainly not even in my own home, I enjoyed designing and building a custom double-hinged baby gate for some outstanding clients. In the closed position: And open: Edit: Locks with a skeleton key. Fun stuff. Edited June 25, 2014 by mungkiman
BigStewMan
i have a friend who did a few paintings for me. i was just curious to see what you all have in yalls living room! don't have photo at the moment … but, one wall is full of guitars. My brother is an artist and i have one of his paintings hanging on another wall. It's a landscape that looks like a post nuclear war landscape…a scorched earth look; but, burnt into the ground is the shape of a guitar. pretty cool looking. TasDom
Not paintings but I guess these are considered artwork...... Southwest scene made of carpet insets and beveled Leather mask I picked up while in the Bahama's. One single piece of leather.

Perfect design, building things can be very rewarding but designing something like that is just fun. Nice job

JJkizak
That "Baby" thing is where it's at. If more new homes had inovative stuff like that there would be another bubble. I could see a new business starting up just for these types of things. JJK
Schu
here is another... I designed and tufted this custom 100% wool Rug. it's supposed to hang on the wall, but is on my floor right now. Edited June 25, 2014 by Schu
Schu
Okay one more since it was already in the photo thread an Antique hand carved solid hard wood (not palm) Hawaiian Tiki. I am pretty sure it's the symbol for fertility. and a set of Lichtenstein Screen Prints in the background. Moderators dtel Posted June 25, 2014 Moderators Share Posted June 25, 2014 here is another... I designed and tufted this custom 100% wool Rug. it's supposed to hang on the wall, but is on my floor right now. Is this what you do or is it a hobby ? Cool design in the rug, like the shadows from the animals but not the trees. Love the tiki, I really want to try carving one but looking at really nice ones like that is a little discouraging. I need a piece of tree trunk, I would think the palm wood would not last as long ?
Schu
Palm does last... but it wont last as long. We're talking years/decades so its a great material ansd its native to the islands... its just not a more rare hardwood. I have a great 6+ footer made from palm also... but its at my mom house. To be honst, I am not even sure this is monkey wood... it might actually be made from Koa. I've had it since I was a little kid... at least 40 years or more. oldtimer
It doesn't look like koa to me.
