DizRotus
Sure FSU has QB challenges, but the QB doesn't play defense I would suggest that a better QB for FL ST might keep Houston's offense off the field far BETTER than any defense. I agree with the concept, but Houston scores early and often. The FSU defense doesn't have time to get tired. JL Sargent
I can't hardly stand FSU myself but they got stood up at the alter of this bowl game and it shows. No real offense to show for it. 2nd string QB with a cast on his foot? That ain't gonna work. 3rd string doesn't know the offense.
jimjimbo
MS is a disease. MSU is a school. :-) Actually, they both make me sick.....
Moderators Travis In Austin Posted December 31, 2015 Moderators Share Posted December 31, 2015 Uh oh, Clemson sends 3 home including their best deep threat wide receiver. Failed drug tests suspected. And their kicker. I've never understood how talented young men can spend all of their lives working to achieve the goal of getting to compete for a national championship and a potential NFL paycheck, just to stupidly throw it all away in a moment by doing drugs. Maybe a completely failed drug policy? Poverty? Lack of education? College kids doing drugs? Really? Who knew. It is in every segment of society, every demographic. I have seen it destroy lawyers, doctors, nurses, psychologists, teachers, cops, politicians, and even middle-aged housewives. Gambling ruined Pete and Stienbrenner (sp?). Performance enhancing drugs like steroids and HGH everyone turned a blind eye on in 60s and 70s until a congressman told the Comissioner of Baseball his league was a mess. My generation it was Len Bias and Lloyd Daniels. Two very tragic cases in their own way. We are a sports crazed nation and we (fans and coaches) have turned a blind eye in the past. Does the NCAA have a drug policy? Random testing?
jimjimbo
May I ask, what does gambling have to do with this thread?
Moderators Travis In Austin Posted December 31, 2015 Moderators Share Posted December 31, 2015 May I ask, what does gambling have to do with this thread? I guess about as much as drugs and exemplary atheletes being given a pass for knuckle headed behavior. But I seem to recall steak dinners, record cleaning solution and lps being in the mix there somewhere.
Moderators Travis In Austin Posted December 31, 2015 Moderators Share Posted December 31, 2015 I am really thinking there is going to be an upset somewhere tonight. I was going to say OK 35, Clemson 30, but just this second going to go Clemson 30, OK 28 Alabama 30 MSU 17 In with 9 minutes to spare
T2K
If Alabama had a quarterback I'd be taking wagers. Come on now. If Alabama didn't have a QB they wouldn't be in the playoffs. They've got one, but he's hot warm and cold. If not for the Heisman and/or the Defense I'm not sure they would be there. Keith

Moderators Travis In Austin Posted December 31, 2015 Moderators Share Posted December 31, 2015 I think they settled down a little bit, a good defensive series f/u with a FG

Now lets see if OK and has any class to keep Mayfield safe and keep him on the bench.
homeskizzle
We don't mind being underdogs at all. ESPN never respects us, but that's ok. It is what it is. Edited January 1, 2016 by homeskizzle

T2K
Finally, after 3 quarters MSU offense breaks into the positive yardage category. Maybe the offense missed the bus, if they had much of one. The Crimson Tide is making the Spartans their blitch. Keith

I blew it completely by picking Oklahoma. With 17 points their offense went fischizzle. Edited January 1, 2016 by wvu80
