I am soooooo mad guys and gals.  Some of you have followed my recent build over the last 6 months.  I am so proud to be a part of the community here and share in our passion...and obsession with Klipsch...and all things audio.

So, I don't keep my speaker grills on, cause I want everyone to know what brand is hurting their ears.  Well, foolish me, my wife's cat, declawed thank god...put a small dent in my new R-115SW.

A DENT!!!!

It is tiny.  When I say tiny, I mean slightly less than half the size of the head of a Q-Tip.  And it is NOT a hold.  Very small dent.

It doesn't affect the sound quality or anything technical.  The point is, I can see it!  My beautiful Klipsch has a battle scar.

Ugh, just needed a thread to vent.  Sub works fine.  Didn't take any hard hits.  It just isn't perfect and now wears the "Grille of Shame"

Please send me condolences and such.  Feel my pain.

Luv,

Tom.

P.S.  I really am okay, just annoyed.

Sorry to hear that Tom. The dent has killed the sound of your sub, you should just discard it. Let me know if I can be of any help :D

Oh haha!  You are cool Ceptorman...but not cool enough for a free sub.  I have the "Grille of Shame" covering the imperfection.

I have two cats but they know not to go around speakers and equipment as they have been corrected since they were kittens and one of them is indoor/outdoor so he has all his claws, but never an issue, now Denise on the other hand has gone backwards and keeps trying to place more shi# on top of speakers and equipment, but some things are just too wild to train properly.

Dents in dust caps can often be pulled out and then disappeared, using a piece of tape. Lay a strip of tape into the dent and carefully lift and see what happens.

Except there isn't a dust cap on a R115-SW, so tape won't work. Does anyone know how to take a dent out of a copper cone? Anyone?

Tom,

Understand, as my wife (and I, too, I guess) have 4 cats.  All front declawed.  I have used a white vinegar/water mixture in a spray bottle to mist my grille covers (not cool, I know, but reasonably effective) to create negative interest in the grilles.  I wonder if some of that wiped gently on the cabinet (?) surface might keep them away?

Meanwhile, majoring on the major, you have fantastic and most enjoyable equipment, AND 2 cats still living, ha ha, who undoubtedly give you great pleasure, too.
