dubai2000
Dean, just wondering - have you used the Jagusch inductor for the bass as well? Personally I like it more than the litz coild that were used in the original ALKs.

Nice layout to The MusiCaps came from CE Distribution, and ran me $148 shipped. I had to parallel a 6uF and a 7uF. I bought the remaining stock of polystyrene MultiCap RTX 2uF capacitors from Soniccraft. That was kind of expensive, since I bought 14 of them. They were $37.17 each (normally $49). The CFAC for the low pass were $130 for the pair. Also from Soniccraft. An unnecessary extravagance. They were actually purchased for a build, but the customer backed out -- so I went ahead and used them. The only real plus in my opinion is that they have lower DCR relative to perfect-lay or scramble wound air cores. IOWs, you have to go 10 AWG to get what these give you in 12 AWG. I think the C-core autoformers were $275 for the pair. I only use them because I paid $275 for the pair! This old thread on Audiokarma says his math is off, and I agree. If I put these on -2dB, it sounds identical to -3dB on my 3670. http://audiokarma.org/forums/index.php?threads/c-core-auto-transformers.516061/ So, roughly $700 in parts. I cheated a bit on the MusiCap connections, because I wanted to make sure they were easy to get a part in case I decided I wanted to go back to the Jupiter. There is a difference, but not enough for me to figure out what I actually like better. I will probably just leave it this way for a while. Heh, Heh! 🤣 Crossover porn is right but man-o-man the finished product is beyond multi-orgasmic! After picking up my old LS I KNEW I didn't know squat about networks, caps, C-core autoformers but I did know this: There was someone in here who did. Yup, time to come home to my first love once again and I must admit I drove Dean insane. He prolly should have kicked me to the curb yet he didn't. He was calm, cool, collected and most prolly laffin his butt off. The end result of his modded networks? I really didn't know until last week when I got my new PrimaLuna tube integrated. All I can say is WOW! I'm hearing things I NEVER heard in 40 years of rockin. Forever grateful for all the work and insights? You betcha! Spot on and yea, he knows his stuff! Nuff said. Thanks again Dean! 😎
dubai2000
Dave, I am curious - which tap of the transformer do you use - and for which speker/driver?
carlthess40
Nice job. They do look like sweet eye candy And bet they sound better then they lookWhere did you get those little screw hooks for the caps? You twisted the wires to it and it’s screwed to the board ? I just did the caps in my H1’s last night and had to use hot glue, but I really like your method of holding them down.

The units ship with no useful information - nothing with which to do the actual math. Thankfully, some at AudioKarma did measurements, and determined that the markings are off by 1dB. So, I use the -2dB setting, which is probably -3dB, and sounds like it. I have LaScalas.

The standoff’s come from Mouser. Find my AA Build Thread - where I go over all of the parts.

Deang
That’s pretty much where mine sit. I mostly just don’t want them near the driver magnet.
