Authentic Klipschorns?

I've been looking for a pair I can afford for ......well, likely as long as some of you, haha. These just popped up for $2,500 OBO, so 2k depending on how they are in person

The pictures have me questioning the authenticity of these Klipschorns.

Mid 1960's.

Any opinions here?fd54a0ad291022c19b4610e082880d0a.jpgc5ccf1d91f758592a167ba8b90c7898f.jpg23536cfe7c9fb0b12f9dc126b509cb84.jpg1727ab73f4a5a41bd25effe6182f3e9b.jpg31f3743a2128951253d46ed86303925c.jpg91878bb9f9e100b91c3dda7a53d92497.jpgb279a4f8f742b6eaa8152b8b06698bf3.jpg59d19455dcc2637eaf15024790ae404d.jpga495ab30839eee135638b428f8bca560.jpgaafd761ae501bd7d2d6d585b16ef633e.jpg9af828b352894193f33ded9342811299.jpg56019a5d7b5572121e5ad4daad9806c8.jpg

I would say they look authentic, but I would look closely at the very bottoms for any moisture issues/damage.  Crossovers would need to be replaced, and functionality of the drivers validated.  And, I would think you could find a nicer pair (with some patience), for close to that same asking price.

Awesome, thanks Jimbo. Very much appreciated. I've wanted a pair for ....oh, over 20 years, so I definitely have the patience.

I'm going to wait on these.

Thank you!

The plywood concern's my thoughts about "Mid 60's" and the absence of any past ID label adhesive residue... and that Home Depot looking AC Stamp...

My concern as well.

When I first saw that plywood ink stamp my first thought was "DIY" or at the very least Khorn kit.  Some others identified it as OEM and I am not the authority on older Khorns so I didn't feel like I knew enough to contradict anybody.

Certainly those are Klipsch drivers but the enclosure didn't have the serial number embossed in the plywood edge near the crossovers, so I don't know.

I do know that for $2500 and less there are better looking Khorns out there for sale.

Damn, thanks everyone. I appreciate the info. I'm definitely passing on these. I did a wider search and for 2500 these are not a good buy.

Thanks!!
