Felix Mora Jr
Thanks Marvel, the EV 1823M topic was great. Does Klipsch sell the HI-SM with the woofer in the image and the EV1823M or did the previous owner replace them with these?
Marvel
I think the slant monitor heresy model has been out or production for quite some time, but I could certainly be wrong. Bruce

Budman
this is what should be in the HI-SM or some version of them. i think they were gray in color https://www.ebay.com/itm/Pair-2-Custom-Klipsch-k-42-Woofers-Reconed-4-ohm-Super-Heresy-HIP-KP-250-2500/323678872111?hash=item4b5cc3a22f:g:YloAAOSwMpFcJlFN:rk:6:pf:

In reading your ebay listing, you say you had them "converted" from 8 ohm to 4 ohm....weren't they originally 4 ohm?
JohnA
Here's a pic of the K-42 from my HIPs. I misread your title. Since you have HI-SMs you should have K-42s, aka EVM-12Ls. https://www.amazon.com/Electro-Voice-Unpowered-Speaker-Cabinet-EVM12LCLSC8/dp/B000Z33HYI/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1549303365&sr=8-1&keywords=evm-12l .

None of the k-42's I have seen have been 4 ohm, they're all 8 ohm from the factory from what I understand even the new Eminence Delta pro-12 is 8 ohm. I had these re-coned so they would be a matched pair and since my plan was to use them with a Chorus II crossover it just made sense at the time to have them switched to 4 ohm so I wouldn't have to make any crossover adjustments. From what I understand of the crossover designs now not sure the change was needed but should have theoretically increased the sensitivity of the woofers although admittedly when I was building my custom KI-362's I ran a 4 ohm k-48 woofer next to an 8 ohm k-45 woofer and could not for the life of me hear any audible difference at all or sense any amount of change in output from one to the other, don't think anyone would have been able to tell them apart by ear maybe measurably? don't know.
