o, I like alot!Big Smile It is very nice. plenty of inputs. great picture. it does 1080p over component where alot of other tvs dont.

Glad it does 1080p over component cause my whole system is in my bedroom with the cables run thru the wall up to the attic over to the living room. So for now I won't have to run 30 feet of HDMI cable.

The center channel is a RC3 II if I remember correctly. I have had it for quite some time. I hardly ever use the center channel because it's no where near the efficiency of the Jubilees. Ever now and again I'll use it with DVD movies, but more often than not I listen to two channel.

I haven't researched the projectors, what would you recommend?

Thanks for the kind words,

Kevin

To be honest I do not know what projector would be good for your room. Can someone suggest a 1080p projector for kharmondds . From your pic it looks like you have 10-12 feet between the Jubs for a movie screen. Which probably would be two-three times bigger than your tv.

My living room is 15 x 15 x 8 and I will have a new 50 inch Sony tv in my living room. The tv in this pic is a Sony 34 inch. I could do a projector but it would be right above my head and fan noise might be a issue. Anyway I don't have the money now.

I went over to a friends house and he has a 100 inch screen on a wall around 17 feet wide. His projector is about 18-20 feet back and it looks outstanding with blueray! It is like being at the movies, I have seen lots of great HDTVs but they still look like you are watching a tv. With his you are at the movie theather cause the pic quality is the same as going to a movie theater.

In the past I had seen projectors and felt they did not have very good detail and sharpness, of course I'm sure some very expensive ones did. I think Blueray players and the improvement of projectors below $4000 together can give you the closest to the movie theater experience you can get.

If you are really interested in projectors do some searches and make some posts about it and everyone on the HT forum can help.

jbsl, thanks for the information. My room is 21 x 23 x 8 and the Jubilee's are on the 21' wall. The TV you saw in the pic is a Hitachi 70" but it is very old. There is an audio/video store in town, I'll have to go by and see what they have as far as new projectors. I am certain that one of those new units would look much better than the TV I have now.

Thanks again,

Kevin Harmon

Hi,

If you have never had a front projection system, you have to take into consideration light control. This is the most important aspect to achieve great performance. It can also be very expensive, depending on how you resolve it and where your HT is located. Second, I would recommend a 720p projector for your first venture, especially if you are on a budget. I have had one for almost three years now and I have no urge to "upgrade" to 1080p. Most people are so blown away by the large screen size and picture quality that very few are very dissappointed. Projector Central is a great resource. I suggest you spend some time over there.

Since this is a Klipsch forum and sound should be just as important, if not more so, than video, please keep in mind that a 5.1 system is very difficult to implement without a great deal of planning. Speaker placement is everything when it comes to quality audio and the center channel can be the most challenging. It usually interfers with the display area, it is hard to place in an AV rack without severly affecting its sound quality, and having the room to place them away from the walls is also a challenge.

I wish you luck and encourage you to do a great deal of your own research before walking down the front projection path. It can be very rewarding when done right, but a poorly thought out system is usually full of severe compromises, usually in audio.

Now is the best time to think about getting 1080p front projector especially in a room the size you have. I will recommend two Sanyo PLV-Z2000 (can be had for $1695 from B&H) or the Panasonic AE2000U (little pricier at $2695.) Both can give you a great picture but for frugalness sakes I'd lean heavily to the Sanyo.

As far as screens go you can go the DIY route to save money (and if you're comfortable/handy) or buy one. One place I recommend is Screen Innovations and their Reference series screens ($1695 for 110".) So for about $3400 you can have a 1080p 110" video setup for what it would cost to buy a ~ 60" plasma/lcd.

Also, keep in mind the accustics and treatment needed. You can build some good accutics treatments with 1x1's, OwenCornings insulation, and fabric. Additioninally, if you build some soffits into the room you can add bass traps so you don't get that boomy feel.

Anyways...here are a couple good sites for reading up on projectors:

h00kemh0rns, thanks for taking the time to send me those links and all of the information. It is greatly appreciated. I will begin doing some research.

Thanks again,

Kevin

A bit off topic as far as the projector is concerned but I'm wondering if Klipsch would make you a single Jube for the center channel .

is that the XBR4 or XBR5? Either way do you like it? I'm really considering trading my phillips in for the 46 inch model. Best buy has been runnin some killer sales that knock the price down about 2500(which is a difference of about 400 after trading mine in due to flashlighting issues). It looks really good i was just curious about like any issues u had or anything?

THIS IS THE XBR4. I BUY IT 2 WEKS AGO AND LOOKS ESPECTACULAR.

IT HAS MILLIONS OF CHOISES TO SET UP THE SCREEN.

I THINK IS ONE OF THE BEST ON THE MARKET AND EXPENSIVE FOR ITS ZISE.

I PAID 2400 AND IS RELLY WORTH IT.

YOU DEFINITIVELY NEED A BLU-RAY DISC PLAYER TO SEE ITS FULL USE .

ITS A 5 STARS TO ME.

Yeah i have a ps3 as well. I think once i pay off some other expenses I'm probably gonna get one. Not only does the picture quality look amazing, the tv housing itself is really pretty, haha. I thin kit will definatly be worth it...
