Allan Songer
Both from 1959. Which one is "better?"
seti
I really like both of these cars. I think the corvette is prettier but I'd love to take that fiat for a spin.
DizRotus
For me it's not a matter of "better," but which would I prefer to own or drive. The answer is the Corvette. Each would be better for some tasks than the other and vice versa, but, on balance, I'd choose the plastic fantastic 283 cid stovebolt. TheEvan
Oooooooo, the Abarth is Keeeeeeee-yute. Gimme!
oldenough
Unfair comparison, let me explain, one is a piece of mobile art that just happens to do all things a car should, and really well. The other is a corvette!!
dp1954
Not really a fair comparison. I own a 65 vette coupe and the vette would eat the fiat alive. In the final analysis though... what kind of sound systems do each one have? With the vette you don't need no tunes.... just the sound of the exhaust... wonderful...... klipsch4life
Both are too kool for school, but I am a corvette guy... KG
oldenough
Wow! four replies and the comparison has already changed, now it's a 65 corvette. Well at this rate after...lets say 25 replies we may have a fair comparison when we get to the c6.[]
jacksonbart
The fiat looks a little tight on the inside
jacksonbart
Its not a real factory Fiat model is it? Carlos Abarth built these based on the Fiat 500/600,kind of like a Saleen Mustang, only more drastic, correct? Assume it must be pretty rare compared to the vette. Top speed approx 110. oldbuckster
If you like your car in the garage getting fixed, pick the FIAT, fine lookin' car.................If you want a piece of American History pick the Corvette.....It's like everything else Beauty is in the eye of the Beholder................I'd be proud to own either..............but............if I can only have one.........Make it the Corvette
meagain
Visually - Fiat is more interesting & unique to me. But I'm not feeling the tires on it. I've seen those Corvettes, but don't recall seeing that Fiat or that color. Love the headlights.
sheltie dave
The Nardi steering wheel, high rev engine, and some of the sexiest lines east of Mae West tip to the Abarth. Even with the appliance blue paint, the Fiat is one fine looking lady. 110 mph in that would be about 180 in a '59 Vette.
jacksonbart
I don't think you would get the Fiat up to 60 mph before something broke. Then it would be in the shop for months waiting on a part no longer made from Italy. Think I would stick with the corvette. Simply built and strong. Quarter mile on a drag strip, Corvette all the way, but laps on a true road course, the Abarth wins. Saw it many a time "back in the day". I'll take the Fiat Abarth. edwinr
It'd have to be the 'vette. It could still be used as a daily driver if you wanted to. The Fiat's power wouildn't be as easily accessible as the Corvette's either so you'd have to work harder for the grin factor to kick in. pmsummer
A nicer example.
meagain
If I had to pick one driver out of both cars to have dinner with, I'd want the Fiat owner for I would think he'd be a more interesting and cooler person to hang with. Are you buying one Alan?
jacksonbart
I would be more interested in having the chick with the corvette buy me dinner. She would most likley to have shaved her legs in the past week.
