2025 goals. Had been wanting to upgrade my CD-DVD player. Been using an OPPO 83. Found a killer deal on a BDP-103 last month so I jumped right on it. Have wanted one since they came out. One other item on the list is to build a pair of LaScalas. Already have the woofers and lumber. Just need to work out the top end. Need to get it done. I'm not getting any younger.

Graceful and melodic. A class act. I've listened to her for as long as I can remember.

You can bid on serial number 1 and 2 of the first production run. https://givebutter.com/c/LaScalaAL6Auction/auction

You've got the tools to test. Hook up your center channel amp to your RF-7 IIIs even if one at a time. Do you hear the hiss? Hook up the RF-7 IIIs amp to your RC-64 III and see if you hear the hiss. Do this with each channel of the amp. You can also do the paper towel tube test: Place the end of a paper towel tube against the opening of whichever compression driver you choose. Turn down the bass all the way. Turn up the treble all the way; it will just make it easier to hear the compression driver output. Listen at the other end of the tube. As you turn up the volume, does the driver make unusual sounds or is it just louder? Those tests, and comparing the results from each RF-7 and your RC-64,should convince you whether you've damaged your driver or the amp is not as quiet as you thought, although that hiss is imperceptible when audio is playing. If your amp produces a turn on thump, it's either not designed properly or it needs service. Even moderate quality equipment has a turn-delay circuit to eliminate that thump.

I'm sure they sound as good as they look, and they look great. -

Thanks. I'd like to keep them, but I have 2 other pairs.... someone else should be enjoying these. -
How’s your health these days? Nice to see you posting again!

Not that mine is working, but from my reading of this forum plus my limited success, the ports should be: 1: big red (it should say +DC1- under this left side) 2: big black 3: little black (this side says -DC2+) 4: little white and red On mine, this provides the illuminated green on the power supply and the LED’s on the soundbar all work perfectly. @Andy813, let me know if this works for you. If I’m off let me know! -
Are both drivers doing the same thing? Hiss at idle sounds more like an amplifier problem than a driver problem to me. Could it be that you never noticed the "hiss' until after the thump but it may have always been there?
