    • Watching a commercial for an upscale Infiniti SUV my eagle eyed wife spotted “Klipsch” on the speaker grill during a pan of the interior. Making headway into the automotive world, one where Bose is already king? Unfortunately probably too late for what is a rapidly sinking brand that is Infiniti.

    • I guess it really depends on the prices for the new AL6 and the AL5-to-AL6 upgrade package.  I'm on the edge of my seat waiting for pricing to be announced.  I'm convinced the active AL6 is a significant step forward, but pricing determines what happens.  Lots of scenarios.    If the AL6 comes out close to, or a tad up from, the AL5 MSRP, interest in AL5's on the secondary market could jump, assuming: (the upgrade kit + AL5's) < AL6's.  However, if the upgrade kit is priced on the high side (where there's not much difference between brand new AL6's and upgraded AL5's), it would probably knock-down the secondary value of AL5's and encourage just going for brand new AL6's.  It's even possible people upgrading AL5's could have more total investment in their speakers than people who buy the AL6's to start with.  It depends.   Of course, it's also possible we get very high priced AL6's and a high priced upgrade kit, to an extent where buyers are hesitant to buy new AL6's OR to upgrade AL5's.  In that case you may have people keeping their wallets shut and saying yes the AL6's are nice, but the AL5's are "good enough".  In that case AL5s would hold their value.  If we get a reasonably priced AL6 and a high priced upgrade kit then AL5 secondary value drops.  Interesting times!
