  1. He's probably planking right now

  2. Hopefully, you'll need much more than the 3 minutes Tarheel was planning on. Personally, I'd like about 8 hours taking on Amy Adams.

  4. I always fall for the figure 4. Should have seen it coming but I made the mistake of looking past her to the next round.

  5. You guys apparently don't get out much. I haven't worn jeans in years. It gets hot & humid in the south so for casual dress I wear a kilt. They're airy and you can do your bidness on the go. Some of us have to buy longer kilts but my guess is that many of you could get by with a mini-kilt. Keith

  6. Tina is pretty tough for a first round match, I didn't get a very good draw. I think I'd prevail only to let Anna pin me I'll tell you what we seen Tina in concert about 15 years ago when she was about 60 and she still had some killer legs, but that was 15 years ago, although it's still better than Rosie !

  10. Overcast here this morning. Not much on the list except to buy coffee and to setup the brackets for the fantasy UFC bouts that you guys have expressed interest in. Again, these are matches where you can call out anyone, dead or alive, either gender, for three 3 minute rounds, in a no holds barred, full contact show down. These are a few I am considering: Beeker vs Jimmy Carter dtel vs Fess Parker Boxx vs Sean Penn minermark vs Al Gore Sancho vs John McEnroe Tarheel vs Charlize Theron duder vs Sammy Davis Jr. This is as far as I have gone. How do the matches look so far? Cheers Gents

  11. Knowing Shaun, there probably will be a lot of things we haven't seen before in this build. I think he just makes it up as he goes.

  14. Thanks guys, We just finished watching a movie. And I have to say these are as good as advertised. I can't get over the size of the sound. The voice is the size of the screen.

  15. Funny you should ask....I was on the phone with Wake this evening discussing the very same thing. Wake is already engineering an Ebony Stain using Steel Wool and Vinegar. It will take a week for the chemical reaction to finalize and be ready to use. When Wake built his cabinet, he made his own custom stain to obtain the exact shade finish he was looking for. There are still some design decisions to be made before construction can commence. I'll likely start a separate build thread here in the forums for it.

  16. So how was the install... Is it like you expected it to be? It was pretty easy. The xo is really small. It tucks right in under the horn. So its not visible. One set of wires run down to the cab and the other set up to the horn. It has terminals on it for inputs. Its smaller than a cd case. Im fine with it.

  18. Yesterday I replaced my pair of Dean's auricapped "A" networks in my Khorns with his latest ESN's and I'm absolutely floored! I told him I wanted to finally upgrade my original Cornwall crossovers and he convinced me to do the Khorns again and modify the 2 year old A's from the Khorns for use in the Corns. This was not an insignificant upgrade my friends. I've been listening almost non-stop tonight. I thought I was detailed-out. WRONG! I thought I was bassed-out. WRONG! These are amazing networks people. I've made some significant gear changes that didn't have as much impact and I've only tried one setting so far. It may turn out to be the setting I like best but I'm really shocked. Just amazing. Did I say they are AMAZING? They are amazing. I've listened to every type of music I own which is quite a variety. It's a major improvement to every album I've played so far. Thanks Dean ol' buddy.[] I HIGHLY recommend these to ANYONE with anything less. My A's were only a couple years old. They don't come close and I thought THEY sounded great. WOW!!!

  19. From CL posting: This listing is for a beautiful pair of Klipsch Belle speakers. They are on consignment to me from the original elderly owner. These speakers are in perfect working order and sound incredible. There is one small chip in the center bar veneer which will be easy to hide. The tops have no scratches or stains of any type..I have tried them with a McIntosh MC275 V and a Fisher 300B and WOW. If you are unfamiliar with this model, please research to find rave reviews by all accounts.Interested buyers may hear these speakers at my residence, which I feel is the only sure way of buying high end stereo gear. At this price they won't last long. Thanks, Kurt @ 610-916-3554 http://philadelphia.craigslist.org/ele/4483293978.html No affiliation. Very pretty. Someone grab them.

  20. i have done a few cd's through them. same thing. just effortless big sound man. i am extremely satisfied. i dont know that i would ever go to the 402 horn unless i get in a way bigger room. the 510 horn is simply amazing.

  21. In my brief experience with the CT 125 tweeters, I heard greater articulation of highs from from it, and this produced a little greater articulation of bass notes. I suspect that's what you're hearing.Even though the ranges of the tweeter and the woofer are some octaves apart, we are probably hearing more bass-note overtones from the tweeter, which would provide that greater definition. That's not necessarily a good thing, as treble instrument definition could overbalance mid-range definition. I switched back to the K-77's for that reason, but that was just my feeling about it.

  22. Okay I have heard the comments that I threw the fight with Charlize but her leg lock around my head was really tight That's why I didn't move. What was your favorite match? Mine was probably the fight matching Chad and Neil Sedaka. Half way through the very first round Neil takes out his mouth piece and starts singing "Where The Boys Are". Well while Chad was laughing hysterically Neil pulls Chad's trunks down So as we now stand ETH2 beat Buffett in spite of a vicious head butt and moves on to fight Otis Campbell. Dtel advances to face Carlos Santana. Beeker should have no trouble with Opie and minermark squares off with Jim Cramer. Good luck fellas!

  25. For me it is all about the music. The quality of the sound being produced helps enormously in the enjoyment of the music, but the music itself is paramount. Having nice gear to reproduce the music is nice, but I could step down several levels in equipment and still enjoy the tunes. Most people don't give a hoot what amp I am using or what speakers the tunes are coming out of.

  29. This just in. Our very own beeker is now 2-0 with a split decision over Jimmy Carter and a second round submission over Dinah Shore. Quoting beeker " I had to use that rarely seen moi tai maneuver commonly referred to as the cheek pinch" Beeker moves on to meet Opie Taylor in the next round. This may be beeker's last easy contest as he goes up against the much respected TV character actor....Barney Rubble!

  30. Wow...weren't the Thursday preliminary bouts exciting! Not so good news for the forum fighters. Here are the early bout decisions just in: Carl was submitted by Tina Turner with some very, very, nice leg locks. Tarheel was submitted by Charlize. Time and time again. I guess you could say she submitted his brains out On the bright side dtel was awarded a TKO over Fess Parker. Once dtel (now known as the Mississippi Mauler) snatched Fess' walker it was pretty much all over! I'll be reporting ring side as the results come in.

  44. On my HK, 0 dB means max gain, or clipped output with clipped inputs. Reference for me is 13 dB down from that (on a 50WPC receiver). I likely have much more speaker headroom than I do subwoofer headroom. That's often the limiting factor. That said, I don't watch movies at reference. Action movies about 7 dB below, and chick movies even lower.
