  1. Morning, the few that are left 71 today, lawn still needs a cut, spect i better do it today a little sprinkle predicted for the weekend. Problem with Chads "Experiment" is no one knows this subforum exists except forum members, when it take multiple clicks to get somewhere, most will not do it. Looking at the post made here in the last 48 hrs clearly show that. Altough C&C thread may not be a fit for "Recent Audio" it kept it on the radar. Coffee #2 coming up, have a nice day.

  5. You have the POWER! Oh no don't tell him that, it could be scary, even the crazy Vet next door to him is worried now I would love to have mark as a neighbor but it might be scary at times, especially if he moved out in the desert with more freedom where he could be set free to play. Yes, well, i did end up buying the second stack just like the ones i have now, NOT modded w/K400s yet, and they are in a hanger in Reno at this time, because if they were here, id be IN JAIL.

  7. I just did one on Sunday, it took 17 hours. It was so cold out side I had to transfer it my electric roaster towards the end of the night. It did finish until 5 am the next morning. That's what's scared me off of smoking a pork butt .... 12 hours, 17 hours, etc. ... and I do a fair amount of smoking with ribs, chicken, etc. Have you ever done a quicker job of maybe 5 or 6 hours and then transferred to the oven? I guess the results would not be as good. A few butts ago one was not done at midnight so I brought them in and put them in the oven to finish, couldn't tell the difference really. After 10-12 hours on the smoker the smoke part was done they just need to get up to temp to melt off the extra fat which is fine in the oven. They say after 140 degrees meat can not take any more smoke flavor, about all it does is help with the bark on the outside but after that many hours on the smoker the bark is already there. I cook them to about 200-205 internal temp, I tried less, more grease and harder to pull, and more they start to dry out.

  11. Morning guys, 1st cup down, getting the 2nd cup on deck. The pipe organs look really cool, never herd any of the big ones like those. There is a pipe organ built into rocks at Luray Caverns in Luray Virginia. It's very cool.......it's called a stalacpipe organ, thinking of it I might take a trip there this year. Well we missed the snow again. We getting about an inch or so, schools closed. I'm in nothern MD and we do get a good bit of snow sometimes, but not this year. Southern MD. Is getting more than us.....Joe you got your shovel?? Ok guys I'm rolling out, a good day to all..... MKP

  12. I guess it would be double, I do it mostly to add more flavor and to get some of the grease out of it, instead of going in the pot.Thought about it and took a couple of pork shoulders (butts) out the freezer to do this weekend, I haven't done any in a while being it takes about 12 hours. Knowing nothing about pipe organs just looking at those pictures posted sure make it interesting, I probably need to go the Cathedral in N.O. and hear one, although it looks small for the size of the church ? http://www.neworleanschurches.com/stlouiscath/stlouiscath.htm

  15. I'm at the airport headed to see Wakejunkie in Alabama for a few days. After his three strokes, I'm grateful to be able to hang out with my bro. I'm departing in jeans and a tshirt in 70 degree weather to arrive in Alabama with a high today of 33 degree weather and snow on the ground. Lol I shipped the Onkyo TX-NR1008 to him on Monday. Was supposed to arrive yesterday but was delayed due to the 6" of snow they received yesterday. He can't pick it up so I guess it's cool. Just hoping fedex is running today. It's supposed to begin warming up some today so we will see. For most of the time, we will be hanging out in the HT, testing and demoing. I'm very excited to hear how his dual 18" IB subs compare to my dual RSW-15. I know there will be no comparison as I am not causing large picture frames to come crashing down onto the floor during heavy bass sequences. I'm also looking forward to hearing his custom RC-7ii for the first time. He took parts from an RF-7ii center and built a custom enclosure for it. Lastly, I'm anxious to hear how original RF7ii sound. I'm curious if my ears prefer the brighter sounding stock RF-7ii or the refined sound of the RF7ii w/DeanG crossovers. Will be posting my thoughts throughout the next few days.

I guess the results would not be as good. Yes a lot of people do that, when I cook for a party and want the food fresh and ready I time it to when its done an hour prior. In order for me to make sure its going to be done, I start early in the morning like between mid night and 3 am. I will smoke for a good 2-3 hours then stick it in my roaster, which isn't to far off from a oven. I have friends that do use an oven, but wrap it in foil first. When I go to competitions they refer to Traegers as easy bake ovens(sorry JL I know you like your pellet feeder). But yes there is a difference in taste between smoking for 17 hours strait on my wood smokers vs 2-3 hours in the wood, and 15 in the oven. Not a bad taste, just not the same.

  19. Bud, New Orleans is one of the finest places in the US for an organ crawl. That link will provide you more pomp and pipes than you can handle. Some of them date to the early 19th century. St. Louis organ "small?" 118 ranks, 7621 pipes. 100 years in the making. It's adequate. Dave Well that proves I know nothing about pipe organs, it just looked small, could be because the church is big and the organ is on the upper rear balcony and a little hard to see if your just visiting to look around.

  21. Chad I will say attempting to navigate the recent activity tab to the right is way more convoluted. I am sure there is a way to figure it out. I still dont see the purpose for this change to the system that was in place and seemed to work fine (change for the sake of change is pointless) I understand you have the authority to run the forum as you see fit. I also understand without the people on this forum there would be no forum, In my tenure I have seen and helped countless new patrons with there Klipsch questions all while all sub forums were treated equally when it came to showing the recent content. If a subject concerning audio is interesting enough it will stay on the recent activity without any intervention If I were forced to set my favorites to direct me straight to a sub forum then it becomes apparent to me that I will miss some other activity and possibly the opportunity to help with audio / Klipsch related questions Since this is only an experiment EGO should have no place in the discussion. Not an accusation but frankly some of you responses have sounded quite egotistical, The minute this forum takes the route of many other totalitarian forums I fear the demographic will change we will all loose a loved and trusted site I will be further frank here and say the reason I visit this forum is the people, I love the product and would recommend them to anyone in the market, and will brag to anyone that happens to hear mine..................That said I can only say so much about Klipsch speakers and audio after that it is the people that keep me coming back, This is my opinion on the subject feel free to take it or leave it

  22. Nothing remarkable happening here which is how I normally like it. Upper 30's again this morning, stupid groundhog. On the bright side, today is my Friday as I'm only working 4 days this week. Coffee was good this morning. My daughter decided not to have any so I got extra . Good way to start the day.

  32. You can take care of records by always keeping them in their sleeves - with a good carbonfiber brush , that is enough - congratulations on the VPI Scout with an Ortofon 2m Black cartridge but as a newbie - you are asking for trouble with TT's -my advice is -keep the VPI as a great looking TT - BUT buy a USED Technics newer sl 1200 series with a set of precalibrated cartridges and have fun - these require no setup , a child could use these with no trouble - plus they deliver excellent sound - all these very expensive TT'S are very complex - I have several TT's and when I really just want to listen to vinyl , my Technics are my saviors - no wonder they sold millions and millions - why not just setup the table correct or have someone do it ? This makes no sense at all

  35. Just make sure you have it in WASAPI mode (settings menu) and it will bypass the mixer. Please say more. What is "it"? The "setting menu" where....on the dac? Know idea where to find WASAPI whatever that is. Help please. I do have Spotify premium. If you download Fidelify and go to the settings menu, there is an option called WASAPI and you then have to pick your DAC device from the dropdown directly below. It is all done in the Fidelify interface.

  39. Nothing wrong with common sense. I'm not sure I'm emotionally attached to the amp. What makes it difficult to decide on whether or not to have it repaired is due to how much I have in the amp. As far as financial investment, I have none. I bartered with a friend who is in the audio business to redesign his website. The only "cost" I have in it is hours of my time and 11years of experience in website design. If I pay $280 to have it repaired, I have $280 in it. I'm guessing the amp is worth around $800-$1000 in good working condition. My LaScalas probably do not "need" and may not even benefit from 200 watts/ch. Even Youthman doesn't come across Free 200 x 7 amps too often which is another reason I'm tempted to keep it. Does that help clarify why the decision is hard?

  40. You may want to look for an HK 430 or 730....for the money I think they would be hard to beat. I ran my LS's with the 730 and it was substantially better than my newer HK AVR and my Sansui AU-717 (which was pretty decent). The 730 seemed to really open up the mid-horn on the LS's....and certainly enhanced the low-end. I now have the 730 connected to my Forte II's and it sounds very good! I'm such a fan of the twin powered HK's, that I also have 2 of the 430's......very sweet units. Hogfan

  41. If they're not gone this next week, that's where they're going. Too bad it's $50 to list them there. No way am I able to list them as basic and accept only paypal with a local pickup only transaction. The good news is all the perspective buyers on the RS-62 and RC-64 contacted me today to discuss payment This will help cool the wife down until I can sell some more stuff. My wife is peeved at the amount of money I've spent on my theater lately. I don't see what the big deal is, every guy goes through a midlife crisis; mine just came earlier than most!

  43. This was my volunteer service up to a few years ago when they hired a real azzhole to run the place. My work was the "Electrics" im in the pressure box, only been uptop in the Pit twice in 23 years. They had a great standing program some years back when anyone could come and play, management changed, these days they do not allow anyone to touch anything, if no one is playing it does NOT need maint, like i said, real azzholes. http://www.sierrachapteratos.org/estey.html#

  44. Tigerman, I take it you are in the biz. We need to talk... To start, these are either additions to or a totally different instrument than the image you posted earlier. I asked who the builder was on it. Of course, there were a lot of 19th builders but that one looks a lot like a Hook or Hook & Hastings. Big reeds are AWESOME. At Easter, my little parish will dedicate our 1941 Schantz. Only 8 ranks, but voiced by the late Daniel Maye, one of the best and at 5.5 inches of water, quite authoritative for it's size. So looking forward to it as I really believed when I joined that parish I'd never see pipes in it. Somebody obviously had other plans... Dave
