  1. I can't say enough about Rodney Newton's generosity, he allowed us knuckleheads to hang out at his property all weekend and on top of this he cooked 36 racks of ribs on Friday and 60 ribeyes on Saturday night. His kindness will certainly not be forgotten!!!!!! I went to bed at 4:00 am both mornings. Sunday morning when we woke up around 11:00, Rodney was in the club house. He told me that he had gotten a text from Jackie Collie his neighbor who lives north of him. Jackie texted at 5:05 am, "Could you please turn the music down?" Rodney was blown away because he's never had any complaints out there ever before. We called Jackie and he told us that he heard loud and clear, Michael Jackson's Thriller. My brother Brandon had fired the 600's back up at around 5:00 am and he was playing Thriller because the recording is very dynamic. Rodney asked Jackie if he was outside of his house and he told us no, he said I was in my bed and I could hear every word of the song. We were laughing out of control!!!!! We told Jackie that we were sorry and then Rodney told him that we had some big klipsch speakers that were designed with the help of Roy Delgado who was also out there with us at the party. Jackie response was, "You guys need to tell Roy that he needs to go Pro." At exactly the same time both Rodney and I said, "Roy is Pro!!!!!!" In my opinion this is one of the more spectacular klipsch stories. Klipsch speakers have been pissing off the neighbors since 1946 and now they are pissing off farmers in the next county. Another important fact is that this property is not flat ground, its hilly country side along with thick sections of timber. I will try to post the google earth image to show the distance the sound travelled. Once I got home on Sunday night I used google earth to map the distance from Rodney's club house up to Jackie's house. The distance in a straight line is exactly 1.57 miles. Years ago I had an old klipsch pro shirt that i had bought right about the time I met Roy. It was a black shirt and on the back it had: High Performance, High Output, High Fidelity. I guess this story proves beyond any shadow of a doubt exactly what that shirt had on it. Kevin Harmon

  2. Got home a couple of hours ago! Wow! Just wow! I don't know if there are words to adequately describe the food, fun, fellowship' hospitality and generosity we experienced this past weekend. Seeing old friends from past events, meeting new friends that we have made the last couple of years.....and discovering the beauty of a place called "Rodney's Redneck Riviera". "The Riviera" sits in the middle of 600 plus acres and is hands down the best "gathering" place we have ever had for Klipsch events. Nothing better than a facility located in the middle of nowhere was built to play music and party till all hours of the night! Yes, there will be pictures and plenty of them. I'm sure most are still recovering. We had late, late nights...till 4 and 5 in the morning, rising around 9 or 10 in the morning and doing it all over again! Very appreciative to those who did bring equipment! Nice outdoor setup.......nice indoor set up and even a set up for after hours in the conference room at the hotel!

  4. Morning Gang wherever you are WiFi here at Denney's sucks, but right now iv got it and am not moving the laptop! Thad is a Moderator, shoot me NOW! Hanger #1 is coming along just fine, and im making cash from all the PakRats in the area. Some goodies go on the first simi double trailer, then if idont want it, the guys come and bird dog the item and argue price offering(s). cool. So far two snakes (Live) and pizzed! Hanger #2, air worthy crew has been working six days straight, we start the engine for the second time today and really work it. The guy next door to me loaned me his monster forklift for as long as my move takes. The plan is to anchor the rear wheel (tiedown) to the forklift and bring up the prop speed, (that should clear the dust out!) On with the day, cheers :emotion-44:

  5. First let me say that I was the first to have this stupid avatar.... However, since I have been and will probably remain a lurker I will bow to eth2 and start the search for an even more appropriate Avatar that will hopefully impress the womenfolk and offend the menfolk. Twistedcrankcammer speaks for me as well concerning Hope. Mr. Twisted, please say hi to your family, including KimChee. I spent time with her and your wife around the communal firepot #2 and must say you have a very nice family. Thoroughly enjoyed the time spent with them. I have some ideas for next year, both concerning food, equipment, and circus music. I believe that "Burning Klipsch" will dwarf "Burning Man"! Thadeous, I will start indexing circus music for you so that the Circus Tent and Elephant holding pens will have appropriate musical ambience. Can't wait till 2016! Game on.

  6. Like Gary I broke out the pressure washer and instead of snow I fought back the pollen. The Generac usually starts in one pull and it did not disappoint this time. LF took part in a few of the Azalea Festival events and had a great time. Got some biking and guitar plucking in over the weekend. My azaleas will peak by the weekend so pics to follow. Welcome back dtel and dtel's wife! Cheers Gents

  7. I vote a resounding "NO" on this, Indy has nothing to offer to compare to Rodney Newtons and my heart has always been for and about PWK and what he created and Indianapolis has nothing to do with that for me, even if it is only a 2.5 hour trip vs: 16 to Hope! Roger

  8. I would think that of all the hundreds if not thousands of photos taken will start showing up as 1) people drag their azz back to their home caves 2) Homeland Security, wives and agents approve release and 3) the shutterbugs start posting. There is not anything going on in the 'secure' thread either (or at least nothing you need to know...................................) As far as the locked / private thread perhaps one of the mods will delete the postings of phone numbers and such and then open it to the public, really just a bunch of BS as usual! But I will give you this: the gentleman that opened up his 600 +/- acre spread with 12 ponds / lakes, provided shelter, sleeping arrangements, TWO nights of free BBQ ribs @ steaks along with ALL th etrimmings w/desserts, drinks, etc is a man that you would be lucky to meet ONCE in your life. It would be impossible to list what he provided for us. Music, drinks, food, friendship and then I got to share a cooler of beer with Roy as we sat at a table and listened to his knowledge. Great experience, we talked beer, speakers, room treatments and fishing. Never once did I feel anything other than I was BS'ing with a buddy that I had known for years.

  9. Kevin, I personally want to thank you for bringing those beasts with you. I know it was no small feat. I'd been pestering Roger to see if he could get you to bring them as I'd never heard them before. They were much appreciated and enjoyed. Thanks, again. Carl

  11. Mornin' gang. Finished up a good day yesterday with the new movie version of Exodus. Pretty good but not great. Better half is off work today and we're off to Sears since our dishwasher decided to shoot craps yesterday after 12+ years. Also to Depot to get some garden borders ... need to stake out my backyard turf with Baxter who thinks all of the real estate belongs to him. Cheers guys.

  12. I think we'll be having a Klipsch "demo day" again sometime this year in Indy (unconfirmed at this point though), like we did about a year ago. Won't be a pilgrimage, or anything like what you all put on in Hope, but it will at least give those who can make it a chance to tour the HQ and listen to some products. Your event should remain in Hope and include Rodney's Redneck Riviera.

  14. That is right, dtel was in Hope! Sounds like a swell time! Yes, think it is. Looks like a large tumbler of scotch/coffee is holding. Just loved Vegas but, the lake I hear is nice in color. Just about cool relaxing after boat project. in a nice place and having a nice time with wife. Well deserved. Yes, that linear actuator, that I had thought you were using for the job. It was just too much to see the way the travel was so, dare I say just right. Excellent! Enjoy your retirement. Reno sounds nice. billybob will buy a round if I can. Just let know. Bartender too. Enjoying a cup.

  31. Not much has been posted because everyone was really good about being in the moment and enjoying the people around them, and today everyone was homeward bound. I'm sure pictures and impressions will start to trickle in tonight and tomorrow. I'm still absorbing everything that happened and the conversations and the sensory smorgasbord. My perspective? Except for Dave's circus music it was a fantastic event. even when forced into tight quarters i didn't fully socialize with everyone that attended.. and that's all the more reason to come back next year. the klipsch employees were super appreciative for the lunch and attention, tolerant of our gawking stares and cameras while they performed their duties, and all around gracious hosts. the anechoic chamber was cool as shit, especially knowing the decades worth of speakers and engineering efforts that have passed through that room. the food and gear and fun had at the barn was superb. I'd like to see more speakers next year and get some more systems setup for listening to various gear and music genres. ultimately, however, I was there to put a face to names and enjoy some personal interactions. holy smokes - the commemorative etched glasses from Dtel and Dtel's wife! superb! i tried to tone down my snark this weekend, but I do have a reputation to keep so I know it came out from time to time. i'm just glad everyone was able to laugh it off (or too drunk to care). i highly recommend that everyone attends next year.

ALSO I can now say I have had the perfect Martini, Carl did not make me a Martini he crafted the perfect Martini, really this was not just thrown together it was perfect, he is a bad influence on me , Thank you.

  45. PS. I can't believe nobody has mentioned the Klipsch Baking Squadron, who has close ties to the RRR. They baked multiple desserts for each and every meal and I must say they were delicious. I see RRR T-shirts in the future with a ButterFinger Pie Logo. Yes, it was THAT epic! I pity the poor fools who didn't make this event.

  46. For me personally, it was very clear that the Klipschorn ruled this demo, it was not even close! The RF-7II and Paladium was a MUCH closer comparison, but even then, I prefered the RF-7II!!! To me, the Paladium has the looks and the price tag but that is about all, still, it was a close loss to the RF-7II. Roger
