  1. Well these days at my age I limit my drinking to when I'm with people or by myself. That's it....no exceptions.

  2. Happy Sunday guys. Wish I had something 'citing to report but, alas, it's yardwork folowed up by mesquite grilled ribeyes for our anniversary. Good stuff. Did get the Cornwalls crankin' yesterday with some nostalgic good music by Gram Parsons and Gene Clark. Never gets dated, imo. Have a great day and cheers!!

  3. Good Sunday to all...not much going on today, might put the EV's on the deck and do some "grillin". Yea "grillin" and "chillin" that sounds good.. Been working late all last week and went into the shop yesterday. Yea it's been hot for sure. The wife has her new A/C in her office she loves it. So when we eat our lunch in the cool office I don't want to go out to the hot shop. It really sucks. Still thinking about the A/C in the shop, but we are 1/2 way through summer and all the new office stuff dug into my pocket.. So I might be having a forum member from the Carver site coming over to check out my Klipsch. I was posting in a thread about speakers. Ya know everyone loves there speakers and gear...and they should. I was posting how just a few watts will get my Klipsch jumping but those same speakers will take all 380 watts of my TFM-55x and ask for more. I said it's like a wall of crystal clean sound just hittin ya...Got lots of questions about my Klipsch... A member contacted me and said he has never heard any Klipsch speakers and would love to hear them. He lives about 45 min from me. He says he like ROCK and likes it loud....Ahhh sounds like ChorusII's will fit the bill..... So maybe next weekend I might have my man over.. I'll keep ya posted when this happens... Wishing all a great Sunday... MKP :-)

  6. Our 2nd Chocolate Lab tore up her bed when she was a pup and left alone with our other lab at the time. I think it was Christmas in 1990. Marley & Blaze have full run of the house too, and our good boys. There bag of dry dog food is just on the other side of one of those short gates. They could get to it if they wanted, but they know better. Got to get a 2nd cup of . Need to cut grass too, but we have had so much rain around here, it needs to dry out. I think Bloody Mary's are in order shortly. The mosquitos are so bad that we are only going out to cut grass and take the dogs out. They have a lot of pent up energy. We may have to let them have some pool time today, but those friggin' mosquitos likely won't allow it. We need some 20 mph+ winds. With how hard it was raining yesterday, I said to my wife, maybe the rain will drown some of the rat bastards...or at least kill some of them from impact. Wishful thinking.

  7. Good one Todd! Jake to his credit has free run of the house and has never torn up anything.

  10. Good morning / early afternoon my friends.... Just finished up a fine breakfast on the deck, Diana Krall crankin' for all the neighbors and of course, I am on my way to finish up the lawn which was a rain out yesterday shortly after staring it!, but, the sun is holding behind clouds, which is good, humidity is HIGH, so, need to get out there and mow! Enjoy your day everyone, I'll check in later of course ......oh yeah, tried a NEW version of coffee from Melitta this morning - still more staying warm on the range, and it is VERY good! Called, Classic Blend... ..........Gary PS. Thank Chuck, it will be nice to see other homes landscape lighted after dark. Right now, we are pretty much the only house in this 'gated' neighborhood of 40 homes......

  22. My car, son's and my wife's. I think I see a pattern here. I'll post some pics of some of my previous rides when I get home later today.

  23. Me and the wife both have "transporter" tags, we can put these tags on any car and drive them around....as long as I say they are safe! So we have owned and had so many cars I really forget..... But one really cool ride I snagged last summer was a 72 Buick Electra 225, with a 455 in it. Me and the went to the local junk yard to grab some parts for a customers car. Well when we pulled in the yard this 70's green Buick Electra caught my eye. It was parked away from the junkers. I pulled up to it....man it looked good. I walked around it.....no rust....no rips in the seat...headliner good...man this thing was nice....poped the hood and there it was....455 cu in...oh chitt, I liked it. So I talked to my man that runs the yard....me and him are real cool. He told me someone drove it in there and they gave him scrap price for it......so I said this thing runs and drives? He said it runs and drive good. So he let me take te car to my shop and check it out....it really was in good shape. I gave $1500 for it drove it all last summer. Took it to the local ice cream shop where they have car shows. Eveyone loved it. My youngest daughter loved that old thing. She could not get over how big it was and how fast that thing could go. Enjoyed it all summer and fall then put it on the lawn for sale. Had a good time with it and made a few bucks.... MKP :-)

  24. Yeah, i just listed the EAWs on the Bay, really would like to hear these Dam MCMs! If i set up one stack in the wifes garage, her car will no longer fit. So stacked against the wall they are. Time for a Beer and Mr Crow T Robot.

  25. Great that your many talents are recognized Gary! They will get a first rate job from you. JL....I know what you mean. I was shirtless doing work and totally wet by the time I finished. Got to love summer in the south but I'll still take it over winter in the north. Yep Gary it could be worse. Mark could be a very close neighbor! 115 db at midnight. There goes the neighborhood

  29. Man this sucks...my wife is making me get a new phone. I hate getting a new phone and this will be the worse. This will be the 1st touch screen phone I will own. My wife always has the new "up to date" phone...she takes all the calls for the business, all the internet stuff and other stuff I don't do.... I have my "Hi tech" scan tool that I do all my stuff on...... "important stuff "..........like get on this forum.........and maybe fix a car or two... For years I have had my trusty old flip-phone.....I like my flip-phone...it works....it's all beat-up, from dropping it on the shop floor.....it's been kicked across the shop floor....it's had brake cleaner sprayed on it.....it's had tools dropped on it.....it's had grease and oil on it......it's spent the night on the drive way with snow on it.....When I'm pissed off I can "SNAP-IT" shut really hard!! Feels good to do that. It's been a damn good phone......well when I tex the "c"and "v" doesn't work 100% and the screen looks like someone took 80 grit sand paper to it.....I got to press the power button a few times for it to turn on and the battery will not hold a charge for the day.. "OK" guess I do need a new phone......it still sucks... MKP :-)

  34. A beautiful country and wonderful folks. Believe it or not, way up here in Yellowknife they are the single largest ethnic community. Very family oriented and hard working people. It is hot there and depending on where you are humid- but some places are bathed in a constant ocean breeze that is very doable. A lot of places do have air con. Ask him about his place and the venue. he must think very highly of you to ask you to be part of something that means this much to him, at the very least check out the logistics.

  35. Congratulations! Nice score. They look near mint. Nice pics. I wouldn't be pushing the LaScala's out the door yet, though. Give it some time. I wouldn't know from experience though, because I haven't heard 30's yet.

  36. Funny thing is I've argued with my wife more since this happened than ever before. She's making sure I don't over do things and I'm like, ahhhh just get out of the way and let me go. I told her it was worse when I got shot in the lower back than it is now. My pain tolerance is pretty much off the scales as it is. I went through a windshield when I was younger and fractured my skull and also broke my ankle and it was wrapped like a towel. So while I was sitting on the ground waiting for an ambulance that I called myself, I proceeded to "unwrap" my ankle and tried popping it back into place. My friend who was driving fainted when he saw me do that and the police thought I was on drugs.

  38. Hear you there Mark.................... Even the K'horns are a bit of a bear to move around single handedly, for which I use a hand truck! They have to sit on their SIDES on the truck which is risky and because they are two wide, and also, the top cabinet MUST come off to reduce the height around the hallway and door corners....what a pain, but mine are moved for the final time thank goodness! Ok Chuck, lucky for you..........NOW, my neighbors across the street to the EAST, whom I have NOT talked to in an age caught me just as Istarting to mow the lawn. (soon after, a storm came in and put a hault to all of that!!) Anyway, they had questions. First off, they commented on the MUSIC they have been hearing. (I wasn't aware it was reaching all they way over to THEIR home!!!) But, they love what they hear, mostly laid back jazz and good New Age stuff as you all know... So, the wife and mother in law wanted to check out the system. Up the deck we all went and they were amazed. So, now, they want a system for their very large, raised, tile on concrete patio which faces out toward the woods... Also, they want me to do landscape lighting for them as well... So, we will get together and draw up plans for the whole deal... Also have landscape lighting in the works for another neighbor to our north for uplighting 3 trees in the front garden. They are waiting for the electrician to lay in a permanent underground AC line and weather proof duplex into the garden for my use with the power supplies etc. Never ends... But there is NOT a single neighbor I don't get along with which is wonderful... Right now, writing you all, finishing up a 4th and final MUG of Melitta coffee , black with a hint of 'Sugar in the Raw'..... More later.... .........enjoy the day.... ........Gary

  39. What are you listening to mark, EAW ?? or MWM ?? or wifes K-Horns Been passively watching your sale of the EAW.s Big Ole Speakers are hard to sell I had a time with my Edgar Horn Titans and Seismic subs, ended up parting out the mid range cabinets and selling the top horns drivers and crossovers seperate EAWs at this time, in the last few days iv got those critters listed everywhere but the Bay. Really do not "Need" to sell them, it's just that here in this house "The Mancave" it's either EAWs or MCMs, there is NO room for both. The MCMs are out front in the wifes garage, and will stay there till these EAWs are out of the cave. Ya got to remember these critters are 500Lbs, EAWs as well as the MCMs, when i move speakers, iv got to get neighbor(s).

  42. Indeed, Jim I am liking what I hear so far. I really need to move these Scala's, give em' 30's room to breath. Think I am going to have to move them into the dinning room until they are sold. Having the KLF's sure makes the sting of loosing the La Scala a little more bearable... Letting a co-worker store his LaScala's in my basement with me hooking them up and rockin' them the whole time (maybe 6 months to a year, I don't remember), is what started this whole Klipsch sickness. I shouldn't have ever let them leave the basement in my last house. He offered them to me at a fair price at the time, but I was not familiar enough and thought they may soon be prone to the rotted surrounds. Oh well, I am enjoying Eat A Peach right now through the Khorns, thanks to "storing" those LaScala's.

  45. This is the ultimate in side-by-side comparison! Just a flip of the switch. Same amp, signal and source. The ONLY variation is the speaker. My comparison has been somewhat limited so far. I can say this, they sound much different from one another. I had run a pair of 7's a while back. It is almost like the 30's are a hybrid between the reference and heritage series. I like this!!! Thumbs up so far More observations to come soon... Matt

There are some beautiful rosewood khorns 2 hours from here in excellent shape for $2500. Wish I had another music room. LF is doing yard work at her place and then off to the pool. Jake is "resting his eyes". I'm thinking about lunch. Have a great weekend retirees and cheese chasers alike! Cheers Ladies and Gents
