  20. That's funny, just got back to reading here a little, been busy. You know how much fun it is to dissemble the complete 2Ch and separate HT setup and move it all out the way for changes. all done with NO music. I forgot how many wires and cables it takes to have it all work, it's crazy. The good part was it was all done to redo the entertainment cabinet "thing" to make it work for a new TV. The old CRT rear projection TV had the cabinet going around the top of the TV, the new TV will sit on top after being redone.......It's all about done and the music is playing again. When it's done I will put before and after pics.

  24. When I see a huge price increase in one step, it suggests to me that a company is looking for an excuse to phase out a product. I hope I'm wrong in the case of the K-horns. A person who has been saving for a pair is now likely to decide to forget it and look for a less costly alternative (and there are many high efficiency speakers which fit that category). Such a move certainly won't lead to increased sales of a product which has a limited market share to begin with. I'm very disappointed to see this! Maynard

  27. It is, I thought I was going blind even with glasses. Every time we have dealt with BB we swore it would never happen again, but after 30 days and 2 hours of driving it worked out, a new 65" 4K TV, I can see again it's a miracle ! Never again with BB, sure hope we don't need the warranty and have to deal with them again.

  29. That's the other side of the coin. The players collectively bargained and agreed to let the commissioner become sole judge and disciplinarian and the only appeal was right back to him.
    2 points
  30. Agree on that as well. They could never show the judge where they came up with the 4 game figure either.
    2 points
  31. Correct. The process of suspending him with no evidence to back it up was deemed unfair.

  32. I would guess the commissioners balls are also a little deflated today ?

  34. All well recorded cassettes sound incredibly good, but I have a couple I made on "last generation" metal tape, Dolby C encoded, that sound as good as anything, and I mean anything. The technology may be obsolete but the sound quality remains state of the art. Dave

  36. There's no doubt your system is first rate, better than most. As good as it is now... I was simply saying, just imagine it when you can actually decode an Atmos track with all the metadata & objects added to the playback. Many are skeptical of Atmos (it's a gimmick, etc.) but it was tremendously (noticeably) different with my system. If (when) you decide to go Atmos & determine a way to achieve overhead speakers in your space, it will be an unique experience for sure.

  37. heres the thing i hate about demo discs. they are designed to really showoff what its capable of. nothing wrong with that except there is no real world content that sounds that dang good. trust me i have the dolby atmos demo disc and i love it even on my 7.1 or 5.1 upstairs. you may even like it more in my setup than you would your own It might "sound good".... just as both DTS-HD MA & Dolby TrueHD 7.1 can sound good. But the Atmos codec fundamentally requires two things: ** The addition of 128 object paths (that pan anywhere within in a 3D space). ** And the addition of specific height information for overhead sound To achieve those key aspects.... you need to be able to decode the new codec (the object info), the Dolby Atmos Renderer (to recognize your speaker configuration which include the overhead height plane). Demo disc or not, without an Atmos capable AVR or Processor you're not getting anything that Atmos offers. Your just reproducing a nice traditional height speaker setup. Two completely different experiences. nismo you are super good writing lengthy responses pointing out the obvious. Lol. I already know I don't have an atmos receiver. And I also know that I don't have atmos ceiling speakers or modules. My statement was that I bet that 9 out of 10 people would enjoy my "cinema" setup vs the average joe's setup because my speakers are (sorry to say this) in a different league than most people's on here. That was all.

  39. wait a tick OP... all those sl-1200's from the seventies are still working, who the heck is going to buy a $1000 "new" sl-1200? I love this back handed article comment... "The new SL-1200 is expected in 2016, so you have plenty of time to start buying up overpriced vinyl reissues."

  41. Before I EQ'd my living room HT I had a HUGE peak at 53Hz. Gunfights were unreal. The final gunfight in Open Range was my demo disc for a long time till I flattened the room out. It was way hot in that frequency but it was fun. You could feel every shot.

  42. You may need an RC 62 II or RC 64II. The RC 64 II will be the best and no further upgrades. Running two speakers for the center leads to comb filtering and blurring of the sound. If size is a problem and RC 7 may work. I take it another tower is not an option.
