  2. Good Saturday evening my friends.... Went through 3 pages to catch up.... So much going on..... Saddened to hear of an ailing pet, happy for Carl's B'Day and all else going on.. Worked on blowing out my gutters again today been only a couple weeks since the last blowout. DONE! Then, wanted to power wash the summer's spider webs etc. off the front of the house...along with windows and such..DONE! Now, relaxing with some wine and a vintage Herb Alpert LP I bought recently and sealed off the 'bay'.... Enjoy your evening everyone......

  6. One will go to a nephew to mate with the Mini-Karlsonators (see: http://www.diyaudio.com/forums/full-range/239338-mini-karlsonator-0-53x-dual-tc9fds.html) I made for him. I made a second, that is still looking for a home. When I went to the PE site to get the link, I noticed the SA70 is on SALE, so, naturally I bought one. That's what I get for missing a meeting. I'll donate the second one to the AK Christmas auction to benefit veterans. I can't get the attached photo to sit up straight. Reminds me of my son when he was a teenager.

  7. billybob- Thanks for the welcome. I still have that much traveled phono preamp I got from you. Since I no longer need it, I'll donate it to the AK holiday auction to support veterans. BTW, the Cyastat SN is available to anyone who reads the original thread, makes a qualifying charitable donation and sends me the requisite info. duder1982's eligibility to receive fully prepared "goop," as Mallette calls it, is unique due to the recent gridiron contest.

  8. I was just getting on to post. That was a heck of a game, I don't know what goop is. I read your last post, sure, I can you a good vinyl cleaner, but don't worry about it as we never really made the bet, we'll call it a gentleman's bet. I did google goop and came up with this. http://goop.com/ So if you have Gwen Paltrow, I will take her. duder1982- In lieu of Ms. Paltrow, here is a link to Dave Mallete's testimonial thread: https://community.klipsch.com/index.php?/topic/155914-bjesus-a-miracleby-dizrotus/ The first post contains a link to my original thread regarding the cleaning system, I'll send you some that's already prepared and contains the ant-static agent, Cyastat SN. For your convenience, I've attached the original articles from The Audio Amateur and some photos. Please send a PM with address so I can send some goop. As Mallette says, you won't be disappointed. As a digression, while in Lincoln years ago to see Bobby Newcombe play against Texas A & M, Bobby's father took us to a mediocre Chinese restaurant. Seems to me that an excellent steakhouse would have been more in keeping with the locale. TAA_articles.pdf

  9. Been drinking instant coffee for the past week, but today we took a drive south of Manila to look at property. Much higher elevation, so it was really chilly this evening. However, we stopped at a Starbucks for a break. Real coffee, that Charbucks... Sitting on the rim of Taal Lake and volcano. Definitely not active. Property is too expensive and it's too touristy for my taste. Having a Red Horse, now that we're back at the house. Bruce

  10. Morning gang, working on second cup, breakfast down(french toast). Not much planned for the day, maybe some home work. We went from soccer and football all weekend long every weekend, to nothing. I feel like I should get out and work on some projects, wife is talking about a craft fair, not really my cup of tea. Well time for some more coffee and surfing the net for a couple of hours.

Thinking about how good a cup of coffee/Duggans would be right about now. Had to take a Nap on the farm at 7pm, waaay to wasted to navigate. Yep light coffee, must have.....

  12. Hey Duder, What is the length of the Vs and the spacing between them. I want to try that. Funny you ask, I posted this over on the AVS forum and was told I built it wrong. On mine, the Vs are 7" long and the spacing is 3", The parts where they are attached are 5" and start 2" from the top. When I searched for a DB4 design I was getting different variations of it, here is what I believe it is suppose to be based off of what I was directed towards. http://imageevent.com/holl_ands/multibay/4bay/cm4221;jsessionid=g567domsb3.camel_s Im sure it works, and works well. Iv always been an antenna nut since age 10, likely a hundred antennas to date, iv built as many as iv bought over the years. Right now up on the house is the one single "OvenRack" i put up about 5 years ago, i think this winter when i playing with Freq goodies i will double up on the Array, that would make it just about Max as far as signal goes. and may even throw on a rotor for the hell of it. This link is what i have in mind: http://www.mcmelectronics.com/product/ANTENNAS-DIRECT-DB8-/30-2067

  14. Hey duder1982- Do you spin vinyl? If Nebraska beats MSU, I'll send you a liter of record cleaner. Search "B'Jesus . . ." Dave Mallete's thread. I'd add a link, but I don't know how to do that on this iPad. GO GREEN!

  15. Looking for property here in the Philippines... gets really hot here but we looked at a place last week, about 9 degrees N. Lat. Very cool when a breeze was blowing. About 6 miles inland and 800ft above sea level. We fell in love with the place. Right now, 6:30am and 79 defrees, humidity is probably higher. Bruce Edit: fairly safe from typhoons, volcano activity and tectonic plate movements... been trying to research everything. Elecric bills are low due to a huge geothermal power station and water is free.

  16. Crap excluding dress pants I only have 3 pairs of long paints (jeans). Hot is something we have no shortage of, and yes you will still sweat even naked, in the shade with a fan blowing on you. (not a pretty sight in most cases) But you can freeze to death, and we can die from heat exhaustion. To me the biggest problem would be being very limited to what you can do outside in the winter which last a few months longer than here.

  17. It would probably work great as a trickle charger for a battery ? As long as it's not covered in snow "Not many days as nice as this left in Michigan." Don't know how you can deal with that many days of cold ? I like cold, but what people in the South call cold is NOT even close to Michigan's cold weather. When i can't wear shorts it's cold.

  19. I use to have a beautiful Marantz 3300 preamp with wood case. Don't know why I thought about it after all these years. I looked on the bay and found a few....mostly beaters. If anyone runs across a mint one let me know please. A nostalgia thing On side 4 of Dylan's Unplugged....knocking on heavens door. Good luck on the house search Bruce.....a guest room?

  20. Gary, Nice to see you posting some food! I posted this in the photography thread, but here it is again. Stayed at a wonderful resort in the Philippines, resort owner/investor is German. Low prices, and the food presentation superb. Breakfast, obviously. Eggs, bacon, rice with roasted garlic on top. Side dish of watermelon, pineapple, mango, papaya, with a dip of honey and calamansi juice. Wife had a large fruit platter. Both had fresh mango juice (pretty much a puree). Nice brewed coffee. Cost maybe $7.00. Bruce

  21. Good morning folks. Spinning some vinyl....playing it loud. Slow Train Coming and Unplugged by Dylan. Experimenting with anti-skating after reading a comment that the anti skating should be set as low as possible. I've always set it the same as the tracking force....currently 1.5. I cannot hear any difference from 1.5 to completely off and the arm doesn't wander. What's up? Help with that appreciated. LF on her way back from NY. Should be here by 4:00 Cool here today with a high of 60 expected. Jake loves it. I think LF has the Bills as her pick in the football pool. Doing pretty well using a link someone here provided. Maybe Steve? 15 was the Powerball number last night. I got it....but none of the other numbers so I won't be cutting checks to you guys after all Cheers Ladies and Gents

  22. Should be the perfect day. I have my coffee maker plugged into my line conditioner (helps to eliminate impurities). And I fabricated a paper in oil cone filter (with a gentle slope) which assists the crossover from the steam pressure mechanism to extract perfect flavor from the grind. Tastes great brewed by my own hand, because damn if I ever visit a barista that makes $15 an hour. edit: damn if I ever visit a barista that is mandated to make $15 an hour. If the free market happens to provide $15 all the power to him or her.

  25. Well--we have most stuff that we need and want. We're all pretty happy with what we have and feel blessed to have it. When I buy Christmas Gifts--it will be for others that probably won't be affected by "Black Friday". Nothing major--Food--Shelter--Health and being together makes us better people. We have our decorations--more than we need---so we've decided to go lite this year and save for a down payment on a house. Our own place would be the best present we could get. Hope you find a peaceful choice.

  26. I'm partial to Brittanies. The 2 Brittany rescues are the same way. I bought my last pure bred Brittany for half of what they want for an adoption, plus THEY will visit your home before and any time they want after you adopt to see if you are a good "pet parent". NO.

I would buy the book should you ever decide to write one. Why not start today with what you are working on and go backwards and show us how the parts all fit together? Thank you. Best regards Moray James. that is a big elephant to eat!! you know how long i have been with klipsch? i will try small bites at a time and as i said some things i cant discuss...i will post some stuff tomorrow.

  28. When it's cold, you dress for it. What I can't stand is way too hot. Once you're all but naked and still sweating, what's left? I can't wear shorts, but it's due to public demand, not the temperature.

  29. Speaking of sunshine, a few thousand more of these and I can power a chip amp. A friend gave me 3 of these. He purchased the assets of a defunct company that made solar cells. As the DVM shows, the sun was generating electricity. The shadow from my hand would drop the output.

  33. Bunn units keep water hot at all times. To brew, you add the desired amount of water which displaces the already hot water in the tank. That's how it can make a full pot in three minutes.

  36. Hey guys ... a bit slow checking in, but then again there ain't much to report! Will tune in to the Broncos game in a while and make a sausage mixed grill for my lady tonight plus stream a movie. Beautiful day in Colorado. Joe ... our experience with the English Springer Spaniel Rescue was quite different. A guy did come check out our home but after that it was 300 bucks which included all of his shots, neutering and grooming. And ...they brought the dog to us from central Kansas. So ... keep a lookin'. At least some of the rescues are ok. Happy Sunday.

  40. What's your plans for the little box sub?
    3 points
  41. Small ported sub? Does it use the same TB driver? Yes Carl, it's ported, and yes it's small. :-)). It uses: http://www.parts-express.com/tang-band-w5-1138smf-5-1-4-paper-cone-subwoofer-speaker--264-917 That little sub is amazing for its size. The Voxel's driver is shown in the photo. The TB Neo 6.5 is already sealed inside the TH. The Voxel plugs a PE SA70 plate amp (http://www.parts-express.com/dayton-audio-sa70-70w-subwoofer-plate-amplifier--300-784) in the rectangular hole. The TH is the first I made without the flat pack. I had to build it after I "won" this http://www.parts-express.com/tang-band-w6-1139si-6-1-2-subwoofer--264-832 on eBay. It will go to my younger son. I'll keep the other four.

  42. I made one of the coat hanger antennas once, but it was all slapped together and eventually fell apart. I should make another, as I'm using a antenna intended for a FM receiver. If you want a particular channel, you have to move the wire around...it's a real drag. But I don't watch network television, other than the local news. Which I generally just listen to from the other room. The girlfriend watches it, which is I should make another antenna. She'll be out there playing games on her mobile phone, and the TV is cutting in and out of it's signal. OOP! AHT! ERT! GLITCH! BMP! OOP!...etc...it makes one appreciate the fuzzy sound of a weak analog signal.

  43. I will still route for my team, but I would have to say it doesn't look good. I will also say that out of the East Division Michigan St is probably one my favorites, especially when it come to encounter with their fans. They have a better attitude about them, than what the other fans from other teams do. GOOOO BIIIIIIG REEEED! GO BIG RED!

  44. duder1982- Cool antenna. I might build some for my sons. They're both cable-free. Are the plans at the AVBS forum? On another note, we should make a small wager regarding the game this evening between the Huskers and Spartans. I'll have to call my college buddy Bob Newcombe, father of Bobby Newcombe, to see where his allegiance is now that Bobby has matriculated.

  45. Mark, funny you say coar hanger. This is what i built for $7.00 and 4 coat hangers. I get 20 channels, defining all of what was said over at AVS, its even in the basement. I was looking at one of the ones you posted but for attic mounting (which i believe are the same). I just thought i would try the bear minimal to make sure i wasn't wasting time or money.

  46. Some good news, Mark you were correct batteries need to be connected for the UPS to operate, I hooked up my 1 amp charger as the battery pack and she powered right up, fans came on and a quick test shows 125 volts output 700.00 UPS (used refurbished price) got it for 25.00 and all I need to do is buy some replacement batteries, Under 100.00 so all in 125.00 for a top notch ups with new batteries I WILL TAKE IT ..............Little things make me happy now

  47. Heading out to Farmland, BM breakfast in order, and some shooting. They ask me to bring out a few "Tannerite" targets, so i know what they have in mind. What good American does not like Blowing something up once-in-a-wile?

  48. This is what i have been running for the last 5 years, "UHF Bowtie" the bigger the better and you only buy it once. HD is standard reception and you could get it with a coat hanger if you really wanted to. This is a Channelmaster, great design and i can pullin stations from Frisco at night, "85" miles west. 27 stations are normal, 40 if i spoke spanish. but FREE, and that is what counts. Anyone in America can do this. Mark I want model numbers, also are you using a antenna amp / pre amp, and if so which model/models I have been on a cheapo hdtv antenna for years now and get a few free stations but weather can cause issues, I feel like it is the antenna design as it is directional. It came with its own amplifier as well
